@E
Apart from the looks, and more music oriented features, there are 2 main advantages for K618.
1. K610 is loud; but K618 is louder.
2. Memory card is really hot-swappable in K618. In K610, one has to remove the rear case to take out the memory card. But in K618, memory card slot is at the side, so you can remove and insert the card any time, no need to switch off the phone.

@Greatgan ;
You can easily create a group from conatcts menu and send messages.
While typing text message, it starts showing number of remaining characters once you reach 20 characters short of one message. And when you cross one sms limit, a pop up message will be displayed 'SMS 2' and an ALERT tone is heard.

i notice lack of interface option, something like making a sms archive folder in memory card, marking sms for group recipient, info on how much text the sms has taken, ect.. does sonny gonna fix this in the upcomming software version? hope so..
price/ value for the quality of photos and sound was remarkable..

I am still not sure whether 6233 is louder than this phone, though I have listened to both handsets.One thing I can say, music output from K618 is more pleasing and comfortable and enough loud also

When compared to Nokia 6233, this SE K618 is not much louder but clearer. If you need a louder phone, go ahead with Nokia 6233 as it has two speakers on each side (Right and Left). It makes the phone to sound louder than NSeries of its own make. If you want to hear the sounds more clearer, please choose this SE K618. That's my advice.

REVIEW OF K618i AFTER ONE MONTH USE
************************************************
This phone has real value for money. There are two remarkable things about it. One is the quality of sound coming through its speakers. The other is the excellent functionality in such a light and compact design.
DESIGN; Great looks. Light, and handy design.
USABILITY; You can minimise many java games/applications together and the music player as well. The fourth tab(now running applications) in the dedicated shortcut key helps to resume or end any of the minimised applications and easily switch between them. The keypad is very comfortable to work with; ttyping text is a breeze. The volume key is placed a little inwards, so you have to take a little more effort to reach it while talking or listening music. However this avoids accidental pressing also. Memory hard is hot swappable. It has 3G also
MUSIC; It is a music oriented phone and very close to walkman models except for the megabass. Walkman theme is used for the keys in the phone design. It has the dedicated music key which new models like K530 doesn't seem to have. the music key restarts or stops music through the speakers as well as the headphones. As I said, the sound coming through the phone's speakers is superb, both in volume and quality. mp3 ringtones also is loud. The ringtones come a little amplified in some way? I was surprised at the speakers' capacity because when I tried some tracks amplified with softwares, they were played very loud without distortion. The same were distorted when heard through my samsung D900. The headset supplied with the pack performed satisfactorily though the walkman headphones may perform better. The phone supports bluetooth(A2DP) music streaming. But when I used it with my Jabra BT620s stereo bluetooth headset, the performance was only average. The problem was that changing equaliser mode is not making any difference in the sound output through the bluetooth headset?! Meanwhile, Jabra bt620 performs wonderfully with Samsung D900. (Anybody here using a bluetooth stereo headset? Equaliser working well?)
CAMERA; Camera is not the greatest of all 2MP's. The photos are only average in good light and poor in badlight. However there is remedy for this upto some extent. As soon as I take a snap, I use the 'edit in photoDJ' option. Lightbalance and autolevel options work very well and this makes considerable difference in the image quality. Then, SE MXE-60 attachable flash solves the low light problem completely. It is really a worthy thing to buy.
BLUETOOTH; is version 2, very fast and supports A2DP.
MEMORY CARD SUPPORT; I use a 2GB genuine sandisk M2 card and with approximately 800MB full at present, it works smoothly. I had been using a 1GB card at first and when I upgraded to 2GB a slight delay was felt sometimes which is neggligible. Hot swap is possible.
BATTERY LIFE; is satisfactory considering it is a multimedia phone. With light use, it lasted upto 3 days and with heavy use, 2 days was the maximum.
OTHER ACCESSORIES; As I said before, the flash MXE-60 performs remarkably. I use MPS-60 speakers which also has value for money. The sound is bassy, though, there is a little distortion at maximum volume. But the speakers heavily discharge the battery.
Overall it is a lovely, value for money phone. I give it 9/10 as a music phone(1 less for no mega bass), 9.5/10 for functionality and 7.5/10 for imaging.
EAST OR WEST, SE IS THE BEST !!
