hey WaldoNo5,

mate if u hated T610 then your gonna hate this one too for sure. i mean come on what do u expect? it's sony ericsson. the menus are slow and there are bugs inherent to sony ericsson in every damn one of their phones. the best way to describe their phones is as, "flashy gimmicks". they have very attractive designs and flashy stuff but inside it's a piece of crud. the K700 is also another bits and pieces phone. lots of features but not much use. with limited memory and no expansion slot wht can u expect?
when u get right down to it, it's pretty simple dude. the niche market for SE is all those naive lil kids who think flashy screens and animated wallpapers are all it takes to make a handphone excel.

I have to decide between the K700 or the Nokia 7260 for a replacement phone.
I originally had a T610 and thought it was absolute crap. It always froze, the joystick played up, and I completly HATED messaging on it! It was so slow and i always needed to wait for IT to catch up!
I know the features on K700 are better, but if it's as slow or anything even like the T610, I'd rather go back to using the Nokia.

Any help with what would be better would be appreciated!!

It should work man as the firmware is your mobile software and has nothing to do with your operating system.

To all Malaysians: Please don't download from www.shabox.com. I have downloaded a wallpaper there and they cheated my money! They subscribed me to JUMBO plan and charged my money every month without my knowledge. Just want to share with you all so that you won't be cheated like i did.

You load the song/midi into iTunes then go to Edit then the last option Preferences then choose the 4th tap named Importing.
If you want to convert the song into mp3 then it'll be Import Using mp3 Encoder but if you want to convert the song into mp4 choose Import Using ACC Encoder followed by tweaking the Stereo Bit Rate & Sample Rate when clicking custom from the Settings drop down menu. Hint: lowering the Stereo Bit Rate will result in a smaller song size and weaker treple but the bass and midrange wont suffer a lot, and take the 44 KHz Sample Rate as a constant choice as it makes no big difference from the 48 KHz one.
The song will be locaed in iTunes folder in your My Music folder located in My Documents. Finally if it's converted from mp3 into mp4 you will have to rename it from m4p to mp3. then load it into your phone and have fun.

I got my K700i yesterday, and have been having some trouble linking to the PC via Bluetooth.

I installed the PC Suite of software, and having found very little in the way of help there, went to the SE web site and found some pdf files to wade through.

So far I seem to be able to browse the phone from the PC, but no way has it been able to sync the phonebook (in this case to Windows Address Book).

Nor has it been able to connect the PC to the internet via GPRS, due to no connection being established to the phone despite best efforts.

First impression of the phone itself are not good from ergonomic viewpoint, having come from a Nokia 6310i.

i was enjoying nokia til i bought a sony ericsson, so im a SE convert. The cam pics resolution are awesome and waayyyy better than nokias. the K700i is just great for someone who cant live without music, but it has very limited space for those mp3s (41mb) but i think SE has come up with a better one through W800i! its not out in the market yet, but im first in line already! i hope SE would think about the interface for SMS tones, clicks and number 6 are really boring ^^, but im all eyes for the w800i! hurry now! hehehe

let me advise you.MotoE398 is better than K700i in many ways. The first is that e398 has the best vga in those classes of phones. It the great mp3 player at the moment - three 3D stereo perfect speakers. It has better interface and it has Trans Flash slot for 512 MB but in the packet you get only 64MB.The card is extremely small - about 4x6mm - perfect. The battery lasts longer. What can I tell you - I have E398 and my father - K700i.

i first owned the nokia 7610,it was lovely but while i was enjoying it,the loud speaker tore out.then i bought the SE K7i,all in all its lovely phone with Fm/MP3/BT/IR.the size and colour is very sexy.one major problem is battery timings???????,,charge it everyday to fulfill ur needs.if i were to rate it 9.5/10.

good display and has a lot of functions but SMS tones are limited.. You cannot assign ringtone/sounds/records/mp3 to sms tone ... and a little bit memory for MP3 player, at least it needs 64 MB for music :)

One word to describe it! PATHETIC. this has probably the worst VGA camera i've seen on a phone. and that extended res. is nothing more than a gimmick like many other things in SE phones. if you use it alot be prepared to charge the phone, every 20 hours or so. doesnt even last a day. pathetic software hangs innumerable times. typical SE all the way. lots of nice features but from inside it's absolute junk. reception is laughable. and aint that too like other SE phones? wonder why Sony doesnt stick with what they know instead of partaking in this god damn scam of wasting our hard earned money on such flimsy products. lots of hope on this phone but that's all it would be. good enough for naive kids to play around with and marvel at its animated wallpapers. but for a person looking for a reliable phone that combines a few other new technologies Sony Ericsson should never be recomended. wish i had spent this money at least on some charity...
