sure, e398 is not the fastest phone maybe but i have one and my friend has a k700 ,e398 is still faster than k700. k700 is known with its slow software, u can check many forums like, howards, esato, here, phonescoop also. I didn't check my freind's nokia but i dont think it's gonna be faster than these phones anyways. fm radio is ok with me if no memory slot and no stereo speakers are ok with k700 users. Again it's k700 seems to fit your expectations that why you would give more money to buy it, and to me, why would i more to get a phone that is lacking of e398 features and vice versa of course. k700 has major minuses ,no memory slot, bugs, joystick and keypad,stereo speakers vs. video player(kinda small-like for lady fingers to me 8)). Otherwise, k700 is a good phone 2. Man, i was having fun and because of you i had to write a serious comment! :s :D

oh ya i forgot about panasonic x700
Pros: Newest symbian software, symbian in a clamshell, has many features which some symbian phones lack ex. flash for camera.
Cons: panasonic fone is not really famous in North America, no radio, $$ this fone is expensive but worth every dime. It ranges from 450-499 usd.
conclusion- would buy this fone if i had the money but the camera is only a vga which does not affect most people but some people do care.

hmmm, unknown u have a good point but the new software is ok. Sony released the new software to fix the bugs. And i just bought a k700i and i did lots of research before buying the fone. The other fones i was looking at was nokia 6260, motorola e398, samsung e600, and pansonic x700. I shall tell all the pros and cons briefly for all the fones.
Nokia 6260-
PRO: newest Symbian software, awesome design, lots of features.
CONS: cheap material, weird camera position, no outide display and most important there were many minor problems for this fone. I really wanted to get this fone but when it came down to buying the fone i ruled this out last.
Motorola e398-
PROS: good phone for the money, get a awesome fone for a awesome price, good reliable fone, memory card slot, good mp3, would definitely buy if i didnt have enough money for k700i.
Cons:no fm radio, have to go through the trouble of finding and installing the software for video recording, i read on some websties including the gsmarena and cnet asia that the e398 has problems with speed. It is kinda slow. Many people like me are not to fond of motorola software but it is nothing anyone cannot get used to. Other than that the fone is pretty good.
Samsung E600-
PROS: small clamshell type, outside and inside display is awesome.
Cons: no bluetooth, all samsung loook alike, still has an antenna wow samsung learn from other companies, inside display only 128*128 which is small.
K700i-
Pros: Awesome design, many many options and features which can be seen on the k700i data, material used to make fone is good, has a megapixel camera .
Cons-no memory card slot, has some firmware problems in some k700i which can be upgraded with the new firmware.
After reserching i choose k700i because it has good design, reliable becuase i owned sony Ericsson before, and has quiet some many features. But the e398 would have been my second choice.

oh i forgot to say, my bad; yes you can have video capturing on E398. All you have to do is to upload a new file (96R i think). That's it SE folks, good luck and have fun 8)

hey moe, the very first thing is , the features of a phone depends on consumers' expectations as you know. The second thing is, having a memory slot is a "must have" for many consumers as you and other "unknown" claim that video capture is a "must have", too ok? Again you wrote that a mp3 player(both phones have it anyways, but k700 doesn;t have stereo speakers) is not really needed but video capture?? does this make sense to u? Now, i'll continue with the same logic you have. tell me then, why should the phones be video genius but mp3(btw, e398 has same quality video 2)?? and if you can buy a mp3 player you can buy a camera too(i have a canon for exp. and i don't think any phone camera with 3.2 mp will give you better resolution than a Canon 3.2 mp camera right?) so the conclusion is if you want video capturing get k700 , if you want stereo speakers get e398 with $60 less and again don't forget SE's lousy software problems. :D

if u want real entertainment without consuming much of your cp battery...then,purchase mp3 player (cheapest costs 2,900pesos,256mb) or portable media players like archos 120,creative zen, iriver pmp 140 or sony hmp a-1 (ranging from 26-38thou pesos)
unknown: e-mail & get a copy of my .3gp/.3gpp collections including movies (f u wnt...)
lastly, im givin-up my p910i...
to use my k700...AGAIN!

to unknown, man people dont need a extra memory slot and yes the mp3 player is not worth much without memory slot but that is the reason there is a thing called mp3 player. These are phones not mp3 player genius. So mp3 player is a good feature but not a really needed feature. Plus Mp3 players are cheap nowadays.

hey Moe, go educater yourself, read some reviews, or try both e398 and k700 live and then see which one has a better camera(actually both vga anyways) and e398 dont have video recorder but you can get it if you upload your phone. But can you get extra memory, or does k700 have memory slot? hahahah!!i dont think so ;) oh k700 has radio, i forgot,i can live without radio, can you live without stereo speakers once you try ? ;) forget the everything ,how come a phone like k700 can't have a memory slot???are you kidding or what? and then you say e398 is lack of k700 features??? well, to me , k700 is lacking of e398 features plus not only k700 but almost all SE has software problems which is no news. That's why they are working on a new and better software now. Wake up Moe 8) (no memory slot??)

for me i dunno how to convert mp3 to mp4 but i manage to download a software to cut short my mp3...meaning that i can just play da part that i like as my ringtone n this really safe space...as i think normally all of u just wanted ur phone to play da chorus part as ur ringtone rite.....

Covert your songs to mp4 and u wun even need mmc. I have 20 songs in my phone + 20 games + loads of pics and i still ahve 11 MB left. Great phone. Cant beat it

I got rid of the K700 yesterday. My biggest mistake buying one of these! This phone freezes and locks up often. The only way to unfreeze is to drop the battery out. The phone shop didn't want to know about it and nobody believed the problems after only 3 months use. The former Ericsson was ok but with Sony now - No Way! Could it be that these problems will stay because it is Made in China!
