it's stupid to buy a 6230 just because of expandable memory. 41mb is more than enough for me as far as 3 mths of usage. Why do u need so much memory for?

went and compared this to the 6230...it beats it by miles in every other aspect other than expandable memory

about the camera shutter , i think its better off that i cant be mute . this is because others will know that your taking their picture and they have a right to know...its all about mutual respect . they should make it mandatory on all phones with camera to aviod invasion of privacy

jus 2 remind you se users, herEs all the crap revieWs that people who own the phone have given it. SAD SAD SAD SAS SAD SE USERS!!!!!!!!!!! at least nokia arnt as SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW as sony ericsson phone.
"TOO MANY BUGS!! 1. Hangs once in a while for no reason, even just charging overnight (got to remove battery to reboot)
2. Does not connect well with PDAs, especially Palm OS ones
3. Firmware upgrade to R2L001 (in Singapore) disables the ability to mute camera shutter
4. Many missing links in software functionality (e.g. cannot delete contacts from groups properly (fixed in R2L), cannot use SMS templates when replying to SMS, cannot edit contact positions in SIM, etc...)
5. Contact info disappearing (name remains but number disappears for some contacts)
6. Bluetooth connection is very flaky when sending (better when receiving), especially with non-phones like PDAs and computers with Bluetooh dongles
7. Phone balance is slightly top-heavy (this may be subjective for me) as I SMS a lot and feel the phone may be tipping over sometimes
8. But I really like what it promises. If only Sony Ericsson would get its act together and:
a) Fix these bugs and feature gaps
b) Not discriminate between Asian and European users regarding the inability to mute the camera shutter functions (try taking pictures during meetings or briefings and see the look you get if you take more than a few)"
"Got the phone for two months. Recently got this address book problem where the saved number for a contact just went blank. Wanted to reply, the reply has to be in the form of an email from which I have to set up an email acct to do so. The software that comes with the phone is hardly useful at all (i.e. cannot compose SMS messages on my laptop and send via IR. Cannot download pics from phone to laptop, failure to ID my phone and so on... I feel the software is highly buggy, but phone build is exceptional, better than Nokia's plasticky feel."
"The selling point of this phone is the design. It definitely wins the 7610 anytime. But the software sucks big time. It lags and the camara is lousy. What's the point of having all the fanciful functions to play MP3 when you can't even expand the memory? This is crazy. Anyway I dumped my T610 and K700i for the N7610."
"Poor organizer apps. Notes app offers only 10, YES, 10 notes. The calendar has no anniversary dates. I miss that a lot from my old Nokia. The camera does not stand up to marketing promises. Picture quality in low light is very poor. The light on the camera side is not flashlight. It must be manually turned on before taking picture in low light. (Could be a saver at Hekla after sunset.) But still poor quality of pictures."
"K700i is a good phone. But it can't win against its rival 6230. 1. The cam is worse than 6230's cam. 2. It has no expansion slot, so MP3 becomes useless. You have only memory for about seven to eight MP3s and only if you use THE WHOLE memory. 3. It has no Highspeed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) and other functions that the 6230 provides. Summary: The K700, indeed, has a better screen and some playful features like equalizer and themes. From the design I think the phone aims at teenage customers. If you're searching for a good phone, better take the 6230. It's better and cheaper!!!"
"This phone is truly sluggish. In terms of total overall usability, Nokia still comes up tops. Too bad Nokia still thinks it can get away with things like releasing new phones with 65k color when other people are moving onto 262k"
"This is not a good buy."
"My phone connot receive SMS after a R2L firmware upgrade. It always prompts: "Too many messages. Delete some from any folder." I've check all the folders and there are zero items. I sent back to the service center, and they told me the phone software is corrupted and they need to change the whole mainboard. Oh my God"
"I looked at M1's offer today and I was like, cool, I'm gonna get this phone, but when I tried my friend's K700i, I noticed the address book and personal info were nowhere near the N7650's features. I wonder what's with the lousy phonebook feature on SE. It's an ultimate letdown. For those getting a new phone, please make sure you check the phonebook feature before anything else. I am giving a pass on this phone."
"Since the Nokia 6230 has expandable memory, what can SE do?"

One question, where or how do you attach the hand strap (cord) that came with the phone. Also the battery life is pretty shitty. it only last a day or so. Other wise is not that bad. But hey, Ive only had it a week r two

I think K700 is great phone with lot of features unlike other brand like Nokia. 7610 could be better but for price of almost 30% more than K700 in my country. I don't wish to buy such expensive models. If I want all features that 7610 offers in software I would buy a new PalmOne Zire 72. Let me see Blokia beat Palm software.

I have problem with my phone book the number dissapear but the name exist so I took it to teh service center and they upgraded the software so hopefully it wont happen again, its embarassing when I wanted to call someone but tehir name in my phone book but the number gone they think I am nuuts.
As for the battery after they upgraeded the software it last for 3 days ..they said the battery life will be longer after they have the new software installed, so for all of you who have problem with battery better take it to the Sony center and have it upgraded for free.

That christa's got a nerve putting up false information, If I ain't mistaken the 6230's total memory including its 32mb mmc card is 38MB and the K700 has a total of 42MB so that means the 6230 is useless at MP3's and yes I know you can upgrade cards but lets be honest who's gonna bother looking for a bigger reduced sized mmc card anyway?
The picture is better on the K700 FACT! just check out the review!
Ok the Nokia 7610 is better overall but its more expensive and I don't know what problems you are trying to say about the K700 but all I can say is that it works fine for me and the design is superior to that of the 6230 any fool can see that!

christa,
Get an Ipod if u need an mp3 player. Nokia users are just kinda childish to promote nokia products here.
I seriously do not know what is happening to your phone. I've been using the k700i for some 3 mths. I find it lag only when opening huge pictures, menu wise, it's quite okie.
Look around you, nokia are losing their customers day after day. Just for myself, most of my friends and realatives are changing from nokia to other brands.
