just to answer the questions for gary ..
yep you can use the mp3 songs as your ringtones ,, but not the message alert , unfortunately..
for transfering mp3s from your comp to the mobile is best with the usb cable which is available almost everywhere where the phone is ,,, it retails around .. $100.. but then you could go for a infrared port or a bluetooth ,, they all work fine..

This fone is the best fone ever. Every feature u cud ever need on a fone and its much smaller than those nokia bricks! Its the shit!!!
PS. I dont know why everyone disses k700 because of it having an mp3 player and only 41mb. ONLY? 41mb is more than anyone cud need and i'd luv to see someone try to fil that memory up. Plus, mp3 files are usually only about 3mb. So thats about mmm...mm..er i dont know; alot; u do the math!

hi just got this little beauty and i think it's great.... i've been waiting for a while for a great model from SE... but i cannot part with my trusty T68i as yet.... he he but i have a question can the shutter sound be turned off at all? it's quite loud......

what he`s saying is very true... i`m not an SE supporter nor nokia but i agree totally because its based on facts. i find nokia releasing many fones with similar functions or design....
i dun quite like this kind of companies [no offence to anyone including nokia]
this also applies to samsung..
anyways plz stop comparing fones of different classes with the K700...dats just plain ignorant....

The K700i's mp3 feature isn't build for mp3 listening in the first place. If u people really needs mp3, get an Ipod. N6600 is a symbian phone which is in different category phone from the K700i. If u wanna bring up the compertition, SE have P800 against the old N6600

Hi every one .... Sorry to say this ... but by just giving an mp3 player ... they cant compete with Nokia 6600. I think nokia 6600 is much much better as it has MMC card slot, Symbian OS, Series 60 UI and much much more. Symbian OS is a big plus. Plus Nokia 6600 has a very decent look not like stupid Sony Ericson straight phones. For God sake ... Sony Ericson please think about changing the designs of ur future phones ... bring some style. Any ways .... I think nok6600 is the best for its current price. I was confused which cell I should buy ... but after comparing both ... Obviously Nokia 6600.

all the people that ARE comparing the 2, all of you go away and read up on the screen resolution, camera quality, sound quality and other features on each of them and then you will realise wat a stupid question that is.
give the K700i some credit and at LEAST compare it to the N7610...
which even then isnt near as good.

okay........
to all the people on this forum argueing over which phone is better: i work for vodafone and there is no question about it: SE K700i is the single best phone on the market at the moment in any country that does not already have 3g (not including PDAs).
Nokia is history, all the people dissing SE are ignorant. anyone that knows anything about cellphones will know that SE is kicking nokia out of the top of the market so fast that nokia are trying to get back on top by having as many phones on the market as possible at any one time, and they all seem to be too boringly similar in regards to features and design.
nokias are great phones in regards to reliability, durability and user friendliness (more so with the older models), but they have NOTHING on SE when you compare technology, features and overall performance.
SE is the future in mobile communications/technology, its not an argueable matter, its a fact.
so to all the people still stuck in the 90's defending their nokias, buy a SE (any model above T610) or borrow a m8s for a week and 80% of you wont go back.
i have used literally every phone available on the market in our country, and they are all toys compared to the K700i.
