I bought my 750i and a bluetooth Headset HBH-662 about 5 months ago. The bluetooth just die on me a week ago. Doesn't work anymore.
The phone, the software keep freezing and drop the call. Who ever wrote the software is so dump! take forever to search for signal strenth and the software freeze when there is no signal. I had Samsung, Motorola, Nokia cell before now I tried Sony Ericsson and see how well the signal compare with other brand. I give it a 2 out of 10. Never buy Sony Ericsson product again forever!! S.E Sux!!!!

No man, I don't work for SE, in fact I'm not working in mobiles industry at all, I'm a software engineering ;).
About the visual radio name, I know what it means, I know what it does, the technology is named RDS or Radio Data System, I can see that you're familiar with. If you checked K750i specifications you will find it there just as simple as it has to be -Radio with RDS- no fancy names used. You don't need to use fancy names to descripe the features which you support/have, it's just there go and use it.
For the camera & firmware, you're right, who knows ?? But for myself I don't believe any thing posted by the manufacturer -even SE- I only trust sites/users reviews to tell the truth about every part of the device, I even remember some forums said something about N90 pics that were published by nokia before its official release that it's been through some tweaking to look clearer, don't totally trust what you see unless it's confirmed by regular users.
I've always been seeing what Nokia do as fooling around with the customers not marketing, the technology is RDS not VRS and do you remember Carl Zeiss optics used in N90, and saying it's a top-notch state-of-the-art lens that you have to be proud to pay around 1000 euros to own it, and the result are pictures less in quality than K750i which costs around 350 euros, I call this fooling no matter what you say/believe -it's my personal point of view-.
Anyway if you aren't in a rush just wait for 6270 and who knows, really.

Well, you certainly seem to know what you are talking about. You work for SE or what?
Lets start from what you said about the stereo speakers: No, I am not planning to use the phone as the main music source at my birthday party (if I decide to get it), more like a option for listening to music with my friends at close distance.
About Visual Radio: The benefits compared to a normal radio is that you can see what song is played on your mobile display etc. Unfortunately the fact is that quite few radio stations support the service, but when/if they do, I find the service rather handy.
About "fooling techniques with shiny marketing names" (for example Visual Radio): Thats called marketing, everybody does it.
About the camera: I believe 100% that it is better in the K750 than in the 6270 but is the difference really that revolutionary? I saw the night pics (pitch black aswell) in the N70 camera review and you could clearly see the thing photographed.
Ab out firmware: It can be updated and I have understood that it has been delayed so its quite a small chance that the new Series 40 has been made in a great haste. But who knows, right`

Well, I can see that you know what you are talking about... Do you work for SE or what? :P
About what you wrote about the stereo speakers: No, I didnt plan to use the phone (if I decide to get it) as the main music source in my private disco. I consider the speaker system more like a option for listening to music with my friends (at close distance).
About Visual Radio: Well, the benefits of Visual Radio are very limited today because most radio channels dont even support the service. But if/when they support, I think its quite handy to see from your phone which song is being played etc. This is the difference between a normal and a "visual radio". More info can be found with Google.
About the camera: I totally believe that K750:s camera is better but is the 6270:s camera totally crap? From my opinion, no. I checked its night shots (pitch black) from the N70 camera review and at least I could clearly see the thing they were shooting. So my question is: Is the K750:s camera really A LOT better or is it just better? Because if its just better then the 6270 is maybe a better deal for the money (around 300 euros both). Then again if its totally revolutionary and totally overruns the 6270:s cam and every other cam on the market, then I find the K750 as a reasonable deal.
About the firmware: They can be updated am I right? I have understood that it has already been delayed so I dont think they made the new series 40 in great haste. But who knows, right?
We will see when the reviews are released.
About shiny marketing names (example Visual Radio): Thats called marketing, everybody is doing it...

I think k750i is the best value for money phone out there in the market. It's just that at the first glance it doesn't look like such a loaded mobile. Simply the best.

              Dreadnought
I'll start with what you mentioned as points of differences.
1st K750i camera is better than Nokia N90 one, since N90 camera is better than N70 one then K750i camera is better than 6270.
K750i resolution is bigger than 6270 -very slight difference but it's STILL a differnec after all-, night shots of K750i is superb and got even better with the latest firmware + very bright flash makes it as clear as possible even in pitch black -not sure about 6270 flash quality-. Nokias cameras have something wrong in some colors balancing -check reviews to believe- so I believe K750i is better in outdoors shots.
As for other aspects, if you're going to go dancing behind the mobile melody or MP3 -if played back through loud speaker- you know, something like old style then go to 6270. Come on man do you actually believe that a very small speaker -no more than 2 watts I think- would produce a deep 3D effects or even can tell the differnce between a mono one and a stereo one of such watts/ambers ?? For mp3's no way to use the loud speaker rather than the headset unless you're going to dance after it in the street as I said.
As for the rest, yaa Nokia wins for EDGE and display size/resolution.
As I always say, go Nokia if you need some office applications on your device and surf a lot to get advantages of EDGE -which I believe if one is very interested in both features would go for a high-end professional/smart mobile rather than these multimedia mobiles, but what can I say about Nokia and it's fooling technique with shiny marketing names, Visual Radio: what is that !!! what are the differnces between it and any regular radio ??? yaa it sound good in the ear but does it really differ from any other ?? I don't think so-.
One last thing K750i is out there tested and improved while 6270 is still comming soon and only God knows about the bugs it could have.
It's your call man so be warned, it won't be acceptable to curse your choice if it proved to be wrong, you are supposed to use your brain in your choice based on your needs and interests which you need to have in the mobile you wanna be holding.

I am not sure if I should get myself this one or the new Nokia 6270... It would seem that K750 has got a slightly better camera (autofocus/close-ups) but Nokia 6270:s cam (same as in N70) is very good aswell, especially in outdoor photos.
In every other aspect though, Nokia 6270 is better (stereo speakers, xhtml, EDGE, resolution) and it doesnt look bad either. What say you? Comments of which I should choose?

Yes, just as twilightx just wrote, you can record the running calls till your memory stick is full. However, SOME countries firmwares will sound a peep every 20 seconds to the other party to notify him that his call is being recorded while SOME other contries firmwares don't have this feature.

                    Unknown
You can choose where do you want to save the recorded clip, so you can record untill your memory stick/internal memory is full.

I think the K750 can record conversations, but will beep every 20 seconds to let the other caller know that they are being recorded.

Alot of my friends recommended me to get this Sony Ericsson K750i. I personally felt this K750i have a good camera as compared to my Samsung D500C. So, I sold my 4 months old Samsung D500C and get this K750i on 8 November 2005 happily.

Upon reaching home, open up the box, take out the charger and K750i. Play around the mobile phone awhile and start charging it. Wake up in the next morning and it still charging??

Thinking it was normal so I leave it like that. Went to work and my colleague told me have to drain off the battery first for the intialise charging for 8 hours. So, I follow what he said, fully drain off the battery first and start charging for 8 hours. Wake up in the next morning and it still charging??

Thinking something is not right and I try to recondition the battery again. Fully drain off and charge it for 12 hours. Wake up in the next morning and it still charging!?

I try to plug out the power adapter and check the battery status in the Phone Status. Know what? Is 100%! Plug in the power adapter, check the status again and the battery level drop to 75%!?

Went to my office today and borrow my colleague's K750i, battery and charge. Test my battery on his K750i and it work perfectly. Test his battery on my K750i and it behave like above!

Thinking this is not right and went to my mobile service provider (where I bought the K750i). Explain to the advisor that my K750i will not fully charge the battery and he immediately agree to do 1 to 1 exchange.

After he took out the first seal retail box from the store, took out the unit and ask me to check if there is any cosmetic issue. Taking the unit in and thinking "Nah, it will not happen. Coz there is alot gd review and recommendation on this K750i."

Know what? Indeed it got cosmetic issue. The casing is not close tightly. There is small opening on the casing's joint.

Informed the advisor and agree to change for me. Took out the second box and show me the mobile phone and ask me to check again. This time, the joystick is abit sunken and inform the advisor again.

At this time round, he nicely answer that he can not open up another box for me as they do not have 7 days return policy. Once sold, all the customer have to return to Sony Ericsson directly for warranty. As a gesture of goodwill, they do accept my request and replace for more. Open up any more box is no no no.

I was shocked coz before my friend and I came down, my friend called up their hotline and they said I can return the unit if it is within 7 days.

Feeling abit frustrated and want to speak with his supervisor. He supervisor also saying the same thing and ask me to consider their cost incurred when sending those units back for warranty. I understand their situation and the supervisor agree to open up 3rd box for me to test.

Guess what? The 3rd unit even worst. The joystick can not even toggle downwards. Having no choice and choose the second unit for replacement. The advisor kindly advise that if any issue on the unit, please contact Sony Ericsson directly.

Considering the time taken, transport fees and hassle for sending my K750i for replacement and the experience I had faced, I begin to doubt the quality of Sony Ericsson. Or I am simply bad luck??

UPDATE: The phone will send the long sms -which is several sms's linked together- as one package, you won't receive the message delivery report till all the parts are sent and received by the one you've send it to. The other part will receive it as a one long sms not several short sms's that complete each other, he may not receive all of it at the same time but any new part get to him will be added automatically to the old part he already received. You'll be charged for each sms though, say you've wrote a text that took 5 sms's -the phone will tell you once you exceed the number of letters each sms can take that this is sms number xxx- then you'll be charged for 5 sms's not only 1.

I think you're in the wrong forum. However, to connect any phone to your computer you either do it using bluetooth dongle or a wired connection via a usb cable. I can see your device has a usb slot so let's try to use it. 1st you install the package named PCSuite or anything similar to that found in the bundled CD which comes with the phone, then you download and install any additional update for the usb driver from the manufacturer's web site, then connect your device while it's closed/opened to the pc and the add new hardware should pop up in your windows, install it then read your manual to learn how to have it prepared for using with the pc. If you've done all that yet can't have connection between the device and the pc just take it to nearest customer service center for maybe your device has a faulty port.

The phone only starts to show how many characters are left when you have 20 characters left in the message. However, you can right as long as you want and the phone will split them into several sms's which will be sent one by one.

1st of all man, the bluetooth is a wireless connection technology just as IrDA -though IrDA uses an infrared beam but still wireless method for connecting-, it has nothing to do with the brand, it's only waves in the air, so Nokia or SE or any other brand has nothing to do with it, the trick is how to pair 2 devices with each other and the signal receiving strength but other than that Nokia with SE pairing has nothing to do at all. As for your question, you should have done so from the 1st time you have its firmware upgraded and you found the same problem still exists. Sometimes it's just a hardware malfunction rather than a software bug. I recommend you taking it and ask the customer care person to simply solve this problem or replace the device. It's a stability problem which I think the warrany covers.

My Cousen have same problem with me. He also often share files with Nokia user. Is it because the NOKIA Blutooth is not compatible with K750?
