To set the focus mode simply press the camera button to its half way down then wait for the peep and the middle square to turn green then push the button all the way down and start capturing.
As for your recent problem, where did you copy it ?? I always copy to the memry stick not the phone for it's much faster. If it's a song I copy it to this destination: Removable Disk\MSSEMC\Media files\audio\MP3 and it works fine with me and if it a clip I copy it to the same destination but in the video folder instead of audio one. Give it a try and let me know if you still have the problem.
As for upgrading firmware if you did it through sonyericsson web site is very simple and step by step guided.

First things first.. MISS LA.. hehe..
DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE BY YOURSELF.
Macro mode will definitely improve your video quality if you are shooting at near distances of about 5 feet away.
READ THE MANUAL.
You won't lose your data while you upgrade your firmware.
Don't know about the file transfer not allowed thing pipi :D

By the way DouL, how can i set to focus mode?? Normally when i do video recording, i will set the High quality video,Large video size.....But of cos i will try ur way tat turn on the macro...
As for your comment to upgrade the firmware, will it replace all my current data?? Im very concern....And yesterday i also encountered a problem that when i trying to transfer the MPEG4 music file to my phone, prompted me the files is not allowed to the destination folder....may i know whats the prob??

That's bad news to hear. Well you can do nothing at all about it as long as the dust is already inside the device. The only way you can walk is your local dealer street. Take it to SE local dealer maintenance in your area to see what they can do about it.

i was wondering
what to do when you get sand stuck way inside your phone
like it sorta gets in behind the screen and you can kinda see it in the light
its really bugging me and i was wondering if there was an easy way of getting rid of the annoying rubbish

I have this phone for long, but I still satisfy with it,highly recommend .By the way, on the webside of clubsonyericsson , It was said that k750i, w800i and even W900i media players can be converted to itunes, SE music phones kill ipod . lol

In sonyericsson software you can senk your notes, if your additional software has notes folder write your sms as a note in it then sync. it into your phone then send that note as MMS or via bluetooth or via IrDA. Well it will cost more than SMS but you'll have your sms sent, but I suggest you practice the keybad it's not that bad and let me tell you a quick way to enter the letters. Take key 5 as an example, it contains JKL letters if you needed to enter L letter you press 5 three times right ?? wrong, it will be better to press and hold - volume key and press 5 that will automatically insert the letter L while if needed to insert K letter press + volume key and press 5 that will automatically insert the letter K. - volume will insert the 3rd letter when holding down and + volume will insert the 2nd letter when holding down, only S and Z when needed to be inserted you will have to press the key 4 times.

Well they actually did much intelligent thing. You no more have to enter a birthday as a memo, instead you simply enter the person's birthday in his card -select the contact then Click More then select Edit contact in the last tab there will be Birthday slot just enters the birthday and the phone will ask if you want to add the birthday to calender- then go to Calender and search the months or searth for it -click More then select Advanced in which select Find and type birthday xxx -where xxx stands for contact name and view it- you'll find that special day highligted in the calender. Pretty easy hah ?? ;)

Regarding this K750i that i have.
Owned it for quite some time just a few comments.
They should have a calender memo for keeping fellow friends birthday.
Besides that sony ericsson should have an intelligence for deleting old memo. It eats up memories and spaces of the phone.
Maybe its time Sony do some fine updates to this features.

Well.. I think, with the PC suite software and cable supplied with the phone, you should be able to backup and edit data from your PC for sure. But don't know about the SMS sending from PC.

Good phone. Good camera. Keypad not that great.
Was wonderig if I can sync the phone with my laptop in a manner that I can write an sms in the laptop and send it from phone. similary if I add a contact thru cmputer (not via outlook but using some independent software), I can do that. I used to do this with my nokia 8250 and motorazr as well. their mobile phone software used to be too good. Can I do the same with K750 also?? Please help.

Sony has announced a 7 m.pixels camera that's ment for using in mobile phones but it will be 1st released in china early next year as testing prototype single camera then it will sell it to mobile phones makers that gives interest about it.
Guess Ericsson as a partner will have it without a doubt.

Thanks to Pinak -deserves a credit for helping me here ;)- I got your question.
Well SE K750i video capturing resolution is kinda low + captures with low frame rate in older firmwares, but the latest one truly improve the video capturing quality by raising the video frame rate to a very decent rate for such resolution -not sure about it but I guess 30-45 frames per second no less- but the low resolution remains. So what do I do to enhance my videos ?? I tell you:
1st capture with focus mode
2nd capture with macro mode
3rd capture using the proper environmental mode (Cloudy, Sunny, etc...)
4th try as you can not to move your hand very fast not to have distorted areas
5th use latest firmwares
6th use real player or mpeg X4 Live ! for viewing your recorded clips
7th believe that nothing is perfect
last one ENJOY.

I'll tell you something, it's pretty normal to have fragmented files in your HDD that slows down the performance a bit right ?? you don't expect the PC to open the Pictures folder at the same speed whether it contains 1 Pic or 1000 pic as it will be silly expecting/wanting that. The mobile is no exceptin as it has processor, mini hard disk/flash memory and operating system that manage it all, which brings the possibility to have some lag. The question is how long is that lag ?? in worst condition it won't exceed 3 seconds to fully open the Pictures, Videos and Sounds folders ready to navigate through if each folder of them was containing 1 GB's of data for itself.
Lag happens in all devices but SE K750i sets new scores of performance speed.

OK.. what he means to say is that resolution is less. So, square boxes appear when you play the video on your PC.
The only cause is the resolution in which the video is recorded. If you are using the maximum resolution supported by the video recorder.. then that is actually the limit.
When you watch the videos in windows media player.. just watch them in 100% or 50% mode and not the regular 200% mode where "box box" will appear. For clear videos, you at least need 800x600 resolution for your video recorder. So.. buy a handycam.
