I tried the Nokia 6230 before buying the K750i and found the number buttons on the 6230 were to small for me. I have average size fingers but texting was far harder, I kept making many mistakes. Plus the T9 predictive texting software that Sony includes seems more intuitive, it can list all possible words in a dropdown tooltip style box as you type in a word and you can select the correct one, which is easier for long words.

    Both models support mem. up to 2 Gig. officially. However someone reported the usage of 4 Gig. mem.. Also see my post to Darkmoon.

      Although it would be better if you sync your contacts before, when you delete all contacts it would only delete your default contacts which is "phone" or "SIM", not both.

        The difference bw K750 & W800 is mostly about design & fashion and the memory included in package (K750: 64 & W800: 512). The most important diff. bw these 2 is that in W800 you can listen to music when your phone is off.

          Before trying to delete your contacts make sure you have them backed up in the computer-simply syncronize through the program. And then try, in that case you are out of risk to delete them from both sim card and phone. As for the beep I don`t know what you are talking about.

            how do i stop/change that weird tone that happens with like a network message, or on some games? anyone know what i mean?

            and if i "Delete all contacts" does that delete from sim or phone or both?

            if anyone can answer i'd really appreciate it

              Its insane to even try and compare the 6230i to the k750i...the 6230i is crap in comparison...i have both by the way so i would know...AJAX(i)

                With a new updated SW what i noticed is that:
                When there is no reception on the top of the screen instead of smth like Network or what ever it said before I don`t quite remember, now it says "emergency calls only" and shows full bars-meaning full reception for imergency calls only. I even tried to dial 911 just for the sake of experiment and the call got through and the connection with an operator was excellent (I told her that that was an error dial). So now I`m wondering-how in this world is it possible? That after upgrade it gives me such an excellent signal for emergency calls? As if it`s GSM 850, which is actually not available in this phone. Then why is it not possible to use that frequency for all callS? Can anybody share your guesses? It`s quite amazing. Also I`m going to keep you posted on the SW update improvements as I will be descovering them.

                  Can you guys please tell me witch phone has the best loudspeaker? K750 or W800 , I have a Nokia 3230 its a good phone , but the loudspeaker is terible :( mp3 sound is to low quality

                    It got recently supported by Mobiledit, the most universal and comperhensive phone software tool ever, so I can view all my phone data and manage it easily and fast. With its media features and the phone's memory this gives great chances to work with pictures and not only.

                      Fully agree with you Magma2000. I have the k750 and my mate has the 6230i. You have got the differences spot on. The 6230i's camera is not as good, it is slow for mobile internet and the memory is very low. I managed to get 40+ songs on the MP3 compared to the 10 or so they managed!

                        i do not know why people are always comparing the k750 with the 6230i.

                        for me the k750 has abilities far beyond the 6230i.

                        1. the best camera in the market.
                        2. bigger display than the 6230i.
                        3. excellent battery.
                        4. excellent mp3.
                        5. lower sound by phone but very hi when u
                        recieve a call (level 8). and this is a
                        good feature i think.
                        6. awesome bluetooth.
                        7. excellent radio.
                        8. up to 2 GB memory card with xcellent speed
                        9. nokia might have a good reception signal
                        but k750 is not bad also.

                        the 6230i has :

                        1. 1.3 megapixel camera, no macro, no auto
                        focus so u can forget high quality pics.
                        2. good resolution but small screen 3x3 cm.
                        3. average battery.
                        4. average mp3 (the treble is almost absent)
                        5. no difference in sound volume when u
                        recieve a call.
                        6. very bad bluetooth.
                        7. the radio is good.
                        8. slow surfing of the memory card.
                        9. very good reception but not better than
                        the siemens for example.

                        so please stop hesitating and go for the k750. because this phone will dominate the market in the next 10 months.

                          unique desighn, with perfect picture resolution. sophisticated metal casing on the rear end of the phone for camera protection.compared to other handsets, its technical capabilities are very advanced.love the phone!!!! aby,vodacom

                            Hi All goT My k750 about three weeks back working fine amazing camera just want to share upgraded my firmware two days back the signal strength had increased before it was low and also video recording and playing quality had improved a lot just check out sonyericsson.com to upgrade the firmware belive it u will find the difference Long live se

                              You can see my advice to Dave. As for what you mentioned like problems with registered calls or joystick I didn`t experience that, so far both have been the best features, working flawlessly. Also let me note that all those problems repoeted were made by users like me including me. For me for example there is no ideal phone, and finding flaws even excites me-just because there are too many happy feedbacks here-and for the sake of justice there should be downside opinions too and those are legitimate. And most other phones simply simply don`t stand competition at all. Choosing between 6230i and K750i? That was once a question for me too, I chose K750i and have been impressed with its capabilities a lot. If you choose to go for it-you get the best phone camera on the market, brilliant mp3 player, excellent radio...voice and most importantly phone call recorder. But keep in mind-a bit low internal speaker volume, poorer reception than Nokia`s, speaker not as good as nokia`s. As for the design I chose a silver one, looks fresher, and I like it better then Nokia`s. And last but not least-K750i bluetooth capabilities are the best in the market-they started it all. I`m not sure how well Nokia`s work, but I know that it`s not as good, even worse then Samsung`s. Nokia was very late to add it in its models (like I already said SE was the first, as well as as a camera phone SE also was the first, so no surprie that they made the best camera right?). So my conclusion is this-SonyEricsson is a solid marriage of brilliant innovations from SONY and so-so phones of Ericsson.Remember before the merge? Ericsson phones had never been very good. Back then NOKIA was the world leader...

                                  Do you know how better the blue tooth capabilities of the K750i are then the Nokia 6230i ones? I mean what does Nokia 6230i not have in blue tooth and k750 has? I really can't make up my mind between k750i and Nokia 6230i. All these problems reported over here puts me off k750. Someone also said there is a problem with the call register or missed calls something and the joystick too? Do you know if this is true?

                                      Forget stupid advice to go for Samsung D600. It can`t record voice conversations like K750i or Nokia 6230i, which is a vary handy feature when you need to write down some information and you can do it on the fly. In addition the camera of K750i is the best since unlike D600 it has autofocus. So D600 is just a silly toy for brats who need a flashy thing to show off.
                                      If you go for 6230i you will have a better signal, faster phone,higher volume of internal speaker and better external speaker. if you go for K750i you will have an incredible camera, excellent mp3 player,best in the market bluetooth capabilities and business disign. So it depends on what is most important to you. If you decide to go for K750i like I did you might want to update the software(SW) of the phone(see instructions earlier from various users) and in addition buy a signal booster,it`s easy to hide under the battery and costs pennies, to have a reception strength slightly compareble with the one of Nokia`s.
