a hot competition between SE 750i and 6630!

Nokia is ugly , too big but symbian, good antenna.
750i has the best camera 2 mega pixel, best mp3 player and stylish design but not symvbian, not a good antenna.

I am in a tight dilemma. which one is better?

i seem to like 750 despite its two faults.

If only nokia could learn to design so smartly and compactly! The faults seem to be 1. not symbian
    2. the weak quality of transmitting sound while talking
    3. weak antenna power compared to nokia

Question: Why do you need good customer support if your phone is doing fine?

Answer: Probably they need to pacify them so that they will purchase their next phone from them instead of other brands?

I would like to add that my iBook does recognise my K750i as a Mass Storage device without requiring any drivers. I can only view the contents of the memory stick, not the phone.
Copying items from the ringtones folder is also possible, I haven't tried it on protected tunes.
Also as soon as I plugin my K750i iPhoto automatically launches to start copying the photos I have taken to iPhoto. My guess is that a mac recognises this phone as a digital camera.

Nitefly69: Yes you can silence incoming calls and yeah the text messaging i very good once you get used to it and get used to not pressing the 0 key for a space! Some people say it isn't as fast and that Nokia is always the fastest but I wouldn't believe that! It is very good!

iklxsis: You can transfer files through the cable that comes with the phone and all you do is plug that into ya USB port, install the drivers, click on my computer and will see the K750 flash drive thing! I don't think you could put a DVD on ya phone as first you would have to have the DVD file off the actual disk in one big file as when you copy it, it comes in different bits of the movie plus the DVD would be way too big! The phone only has around 36MB internal memory and up to 2GB on a memory stick pro duo card! Unless you compress the movie with WinZip which lessens the file size but worsens the quality of course! Or convert it to a 3GP file using any converter! Just find one on Google like type in Converter into 3GP etc! The phone can support Mpeg4 format and 2GP movie files!

KELLY: Are you on Vodafone, if so it is their firmware and if you go into their store, they will give you advice on how to overcome it or you could update the phones firmware which might do the trick here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_3_2&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10242

andrei: I am very sure you can but I will have a defiant answer within a few days!

ant: The phones video with all the space free can last up to over 2hours including memory card! Even if it is a 64MB or higher! The phone's video keeps going until he memory runs out!

david: The phone costs £249.99 on 02 Pay as you go and upwards on other networks! On sim free it is around £300 - £50 mark!

mmohsinm: You can upload the firmware yourself and does not take 3 hours! Upgrade the firmware, and then go back to the shop and see what they say! Upgrade the firmware at this link: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_3_2&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10242

Anand: If your e-mail address is correct, I will have a proper look at your question again and I will e-mail you and see if I can sort it out! And yeah I have a T610 but not actually going to get this phone! I just studied it a lot at SE along with the K7700 and the other few models similar to them! The reason I am not getting it is because I just got a K700 for free and quite happy with that and don’t really need anything else just yet but the K700 is good for me so I am ok!

Also to everyone and will: Just a notice the loudspeaker is ok but not that loud so do ask to hear it and see if it is ok for what you will use it for and what conditions you would use it in as it isn’t all brilliant! If with the new firmware, it isn’t that good still but it depends as I said what and how you will use it and in what conditions whether it is really noisy etc! The Mp3 player is good with the headphones but not loudspeaker! The reception isn’t as good as Nokia’s but has improved since the SE T610 and is alright but as I said not as good as Nokia’s but good!

Chandler: The new firmware doesn’t ruin it, it could just because you had a bad phone in the first place and the firmware has fixed a few things but cannot fix everything! Really you need to swap the phone for another K750 and make sure it has the firmware on it as well! You can check the firmware by pressing: *, left, left, *, left, *

Can the K750 silence incoming calls like nokia phones?

How good is this phone for messaging? I sms a lot with my nokia and need fast responsive keys.

              Thanks.

also i t seems the phone can't handle most video and audio formats supported by windows xp.is there any tips on how to convert such files to formats recognizable by the phone

pls i just got my k750i about a week ago.but i 've a few problems. i was able to save music files (ie audio CD's)from a pc using the USB cable into the phones memory under sounds folder .but i can't play them back or import them into the media player ,as the phone only gives me options of sending them to other phones or devices either as text messages or via bluetooth or infrared.
Also i can't seem to use the voice control as the phone keeps indicating that i should record in a quieter place no matter how quiet the surroundings are.Once i was able to record after the beep , the phone didn't record the comand , i could only hear the sound of the button i pressed to start and end the recording.
Can any of u fellas help me out on these?Am i goofing somewhere or is my phone faulty?
overall though it's a "badda ass" phone and all my pals love it.

I dont know why there is all this comparison between Nokia's And SE's...
Frankly speaking i have used all Nokia's until now[ at present 6680]..but have lot of respect for SE products..They have always been more comprehensive starting with the T610 to the K750..
The 610 had a 65K color screen & bluetooth when Nokia's had 4096 color & IR[without file transfer]..The P910 was a complete package with Memory card, radio, touchscreen,Symbian,IR&Bluetooth, when similar Nokia's had always something missin, either the radio or IR...
I personally prefer Nokia's because they have goo customer support in my area which SE doesnt have...By the way i feel SE has to improve the design of their latest products..they are goin backwards in that aspect..

Koko -> imbedded means the screen is raised above the sides, as such, it is higher than it's surrounding sides. This allows easier scratching if one is not careful when placing the phone face down.

The problem is that when i convert the .MPG file into .MP4 the file when put on phone and played starts well but after 2-3 seconds it starts skipping as if it is being fast forwarded and even the sound.but there is no boxy problem.
and when i transfered a video from a friends nokia 6600, the 3GPP fromat works really well. with no skip in video and sound.whqt is 3GPP format, coz there ain't no such format on imtoo mpeg encode.
one more thing do u think SE is out with an adapter for standard phone jack, i mean you can hear the sound on the standard sony walkman headphones.is there anything such type.
                                  Thanks for the previous msges.
and what a co-incidence even i just changed my k750 from t610. are u looking forwad to this phone.

Got the phone saturday morning after numerous attemts to find out if it played full screen vid and it does tited thru 90 degrees widescreen fashion,,what a bonus. Its on o2 no probs and loudspeaker is super in treble department compared to n6630..radio works better than expected i pressed a button which stored all stations available and my fave was there 97.4 rock fm which i cant get clear on my own stereo. My first charge took 6hrs and with constant messing about bluetoothing mp3s and videos over 10 hrs of radio plus phone calls,, the third low batt warning has sounded and switched off, thats 56hrs of heavy duty and light (radio)usage and is on par with my p900.The only complaint is that after taking photos i keep leaving lens cover open giving unecessary exposure to dust etc.its a fantastic product ive had 17 phones since 1998 more including ones ive returned and touch wood this is the best most compact fully featured crystal clear screen and sound product ive owned.EXCELLANT SUPER

I think i'll still choose E720 over this one..it has better display (i've compared d display, E720 is more crisp, colorful, bright) better video (352X288 Pixels), equally good camera (unless u print it so ul c d diffenrce between 1MP & 2MP, in my case i don't)..but if u like candy bars, this is not a bad choice (il choose it over 6230i w/c has a small screen) afterall it has radio w/c E720 doesnt hav :(

                                        CLARIFICATIONS:
K750i doesnt hav stereo sound on loudspeaker (unlike Moto E398, w/c also has 3D)..Nokia 6230/6230i have stereo sound but not 3D..

hey, nokia fan, 6230i has 208X208 pixels but it doesnt make it d best..d number of pixels is not d only determining factor for a d display to be really good..d quality of LCD used, number of colors, & bits..compare your 6230i's screen to Samsung D500 or E720 (both have 176 X 220 pixels) and you'll see both D500/E720 kick 6230i's ass..perhaps u havent seen a samsung screen?
