it looks very very very good, however the only problem is that SE are taking their sweet ass time to release it- i rang and they said end of june but probably later.

Come on guys, stop comparing between N80 and K800, these two baby belongs to different catergory. Instead we should compare N80 with other smartphone or PPC. so the closest rival will be none than other P990. P990 got all in a phone, QWERT keyboard, wifi, 3g, touchscreen, AUTO-FOCUS on camera. nokia should take note on that. Now N80, all the same but loses to touchscreen, smaller screen, poorer camera even with 3.2mp. Then for K800 the rival should be samsung Z710 and for nokia 6280 can be also rival since all provide the same features. There u have it, once again nokia loses to some extend. I used n6630, SE P910 and now is K750 and my friend uses 6280. CAnnot admit SE will hand nokia a beatdown if SE think of implement Symbian in their models....

Dearest Azlan and all you other highly honoured SE fanatics here...

To begin with, I didn´t start comparing the K800 with the N80. I am sure that you can check this by going a few pages backwards in the forum...
I am not here to start an argument or something. There is a few things I would like to comment since you have so eagerly sacrifised your time to so aggressively critisice everything I have stated earlier.

          About the "you can´t compare N80 and K800 because K800 is non-symbian"-discussion:
Who says you can´t compare them? Ordinary people don´t care if it´s Symbian or if it has got a shine "CyberShot" logo on it´s back.
Everyone chooses themselves which of these fine devices suits them the best. I am sure that many young (and rich) and why not older people will find the K800 a nice choice. This is the case only if they don´t own a real camera, as the only real reason to buy this device is the camera. It´s a good camera (in mobile standards). In the real camera world though, it doesn´t really stand a chance. But in the world of mobile phones, it might just be the best camera phone made so far... NOTE, so far, there will always come a better one...
Some people again will choose the N80. Businessmen and other people who require a handset which can be considered more than just a toy.
And some people might choose one of the Samsung models... The choices are many.
My point is, can anyone honestly say that one phone is better than an other? For example, the much argued couple; N80 and K800 are strong in totally different aspects... But they can always be compared, because they are both mobile-phones, and that´s what this forum is about right?

Then a couple of other points:

-72 channels doesn´t mean a thing. I am currently using a phone that has got 64 channels, but the thing is; you never use polyphonic tones, so it doesn´t make a difference how many channels it has got. I use MP3-songs as ringtone instead...

-You can´t judge a phones performance by the way it looks.

-About "all Nokia phones have issues": It doesn´t matter which brand you use; if the phone and firmware are brand new, then the phone will most likely have issues. That´s why people prefer firmware updates. You get it? And if that doesn´t help, then go whine to closest care center...
My pals SE has got some serious issues and so did my Nokia before i upgraded the firmware...

To San and ArchieBOld and people like they... Thanks, it´s nice that I am not the only one who´s trying to keep this most interesting discussion on somewhat civilized levels.
And Azlan, I would apreciate if you would concentrate your energic lust of discussion in the phones and not on trolling my statements.

Thank you. Now I´m tired, good night.

              Comparing N80 to Sony K800:
Bassically here is a crude list of differences. Cannot actually compare phones if they are not out already!

SE K800 is lightly taller that N80, but it is also thinner and less wide.
SE K800 does not have WiFi connection, and does not have EDGE.
In respect to camera, SE K800 has the same megapixels, but it has autofocus and also is a CyberShot camera.
Battery life the SE K800 destroys the N80.
The difference in price is that the N80 will be slightly more expensive than the SE K800.

The rest of the phone is quite similar...

The choice is hard, but I would stick with the N80 because of the OS it is going to be using. However, people might choose SE K800 because of its own OS.

              Hope this was useful!

QCIF video recording is stupid on K800 bcoz it has a great QVGA screen, when you watch videos captured by it on the QVGA screen it will look terribly small like S700.. the design is a copy from 3230! i bet all big time hard core SE fanatics will be disappointed about that matter!

funny how people who put bad opinions across never leave there name, like Mr "sony ercsson has bad signal", funny how i have always had SE phones and never had an issue and other users i know also have no signal issues. why cant people put valid opinions and information across instead of wasting time slating the mobile manufacturers and generally sounding like little children whining on and on and on and on and on..........................................................(yawn)but on a lighter note i have spoken to a SE rep and he said the phone should be out in june along with p990 and some others that he didnt mention.

                      Happy Days!!

Azlan, you are wrong. Well, I've had 6600, 6680, N70 and I can tell you: nokia is CRAP! They have a lot of features, a lot of applications running on S60, maybe they are most inovative phones, but practically...THEY DON'T WORK!!! Every single model from those 3 had it's problems : soft MISERABILITY (at a time 6600 wasn't showing missed calls if anyone can imagine !!!), they lose held information on the card, internal memory full with no application installed and no media stored , very, i mean very slow running, camera is crap...practically useless indoor or outdoor in low iluminating conditions, not that I say on 6680 it stopped working (again soft problems).

I'm not trying to be a hater or argue with someone, there are just the problems that I've experienced with world famous Nokia phones. It's like Windows 'till 98 se edition ; everybody was using it, but that doesn't meant it was good indeed.

I am not a Se fan either. I am the person who know more on cell phone .
It is unfair to compare smart phone (N90) with multimedia phone (K800). Why not do everybody a favour get your fat arse out of here and go to 02 forum and compare it with 02 Atom. Do you think it is fair to nokia when 02 Atom ia a pda pjone and n 80 is only is just a smart phone and which is 02 Atom is a better phone. This is a SE discussion forum. Please understand. But then regarding to cell phone camera, there is no douubt about it. K800 is a beter camera phone than N 80

The problem with nokia fanz are they are believe that nokia is best than sony ericsson, they dont understand the market niche concept, they compare N80 with K800, they believe that SMARTPHONE and PHONE is the same thing. They are wrong. N80 is Symbian S60 OS, this SMARTPHONE compete with with others SMARTPHONES, like Windows mobile, Symbian UiQ or Linux. The K800 is a PHONE with 3mpx camera, if you compare this phone do with nokias S40 PHONES, the same is for K750 and walkman line (except w950). K800 has the best photo quality among today PHONES and SMARTPHONES. N80 compete with other Symbians like UiQ. And this race always win UiQ since P800, a SMARTPHONE with almost the same features is the SE P990, plus hand writing recognition, WiFi, 3g, all e-mail solutions and outstanding 2mpx camera with autofocus.

I share your idees, as I thought You could see from my previous points, by I think think the problem with this discussion is that there are some people that know about phones and can asses their qualities without obvious arguing, and they are the minority( like You and Dreadnought), and they are the majority- who trying to rate the phones by their own preferences and after clearly losing an argument they are trying to grasp for some other clearly debatable ones. I salut people like You and Dreadnought and wish You good luck in your just battle against SE Fans , Azlans and ppl like that!
