Anonymous, 16 Jun 2008ok you K850i lovers, do one small test for me with your han... morewell if you look at the 5 megea-pix phones review on on phone arena you will find that your beloved n95 was fourth out of six. the k850 bet it. the only phones it beat out was the samsung g800 and the viewty.in the night time test the n95 was dead last so dont try to say it has a better flash. it may have more bells and whistles but just becuase you thro the biggest mega-pix camera n a phone doesnt mean it will perform. the k850 is a dedicated camera phone not just a phone with a camera.

I work in technical support for a company that uses this phone.. its terrible and cannot compare to the N95. Quite frankly this phone is worse that the k790, its full of bugs, and the browser glitches OFTEN.

ok you K850i lovers, do one small test for me with your handset. Go into your house and find some dark place or low light area and take photo. I am not telling total dark but little dark is fine. And look at that rubbish photo quality and cry for yourself and then tell me what is good in K850 i ? After using Xenon flash it will not give you that quality in any way which N95 gives. In low light area pictures will come more dark. Try if you went out somewhere where unfortunately low light is, then what you will do ? cry or slap yourself for wasting money on this! Do this test seriously and then write report. I wasted my money on this handset, may be O2 will give me replacement and provide N95.

Have you heard of a wallpaper that changes color everyshake, and becomes an automatic equalizer display when you turn Mp3 player on?
Could be used as start-up screen, wallpaper and screensaver.

The k850i and w910i has that.
Look for the name LCARS for you to see.
It's totally fun with the K850i!

nick, 16 Jun 2008im sorry dani why should anybody take a review seriously wh... moreI believe you can only use that 2 key presses if you are familiar with the N95 menu lay-out.

I've tried Nokia, especially the N series. They seem to fill up the menu too much, so it has the tendency to become too crowded when not properly checked.

On the plus side, they have a dedicated key for the menu - the one with the odd yin-yang like logo that didn't change no evolve.

forgot to say. K850i doesnt run an operating system so therefore it gona be fast at browing menu and stuff. do keep in mind N95 8GB uses a OS.

if K850i had Symbian OS it would 100% be very slow due to its hardware.

Did u try both the k850i and n95 8GB with the latest firmware first of all?

N95 8GB music quality is much better dat is if u use synthesier earphones to test em. not just there normal earphones. also 3.5mm audio jack is not available on K850i.

N95 8GB is a gaming phone no doubt n K850i is boring. JAVA (K850i) vs N95 8GB (Symbian) obiously winner is gona be Symbian Based. You can install applications on the N95 8GB were K850i is limited to JAVA Based applicaitons !

Video Recroding is DVD Quality 30FPS ! K850i doesnt even reach that capability !

N95 8GB = Is all Rounder Phone.
K850i = Camera Orianted Phone.

So u can clearly see which one will be better . Wat would u prefer a camera phone or an All Rounder Phone? if its camera den why not just buy normal Digital Camera.

Red my Review..i put K850i vs N95 8GB yesterday...

heres the review i did:



What a load of...biscuits LOL

what the hell...

iv just put my K850i up against a N95 8GB ...........FOR REAL people FOR REAL..

2 hours worth of testing!! iv just done..soo i hope my Testing will bring PEACE in here..

this test was without being biast, none of these 2 phones are perfect..we all know that.

here goes..my lists of important stuff, and testing details

K850i won:
Camera test, K850i camera pictures looked More Natural!! and Xenon Flash another advantage and LED for Video recording
Music Player and Music Playback and Speed
Gallery Layout and Speed
Menu and Speed
Design and Size
User-friendlyness of UI and Speed
Camera Interface Speed and Ease of Use
Sound Quality and Sound Output was Better
Speed remains FAST even with 5-6 applications
LED for Video Recording was a Advantage
Xenon Flash came in Handy
Automatic Camera Cover with QUICK speed Yes Yes YES!!!!

K850i Drawbacks:
No Wi-Fi, GPS (if you people say so i shall i put them as drawbacks)
Weird Keypad and D-Pad Layout
Touuchscreen buttons takes time to get used to..

N95 8GB Won:
Screen Size
Speaker Volume
Maybe Keypad
VGA Video was very good

N95 8GB drawbacks:
Slow Camera UI
Music Player was abit slow
Menu Speed was Fast..even with applications open
Hard to Use Menu, it took me about 5 mins to find 'settings' ..why Nokia why!
No Camera Cover(big drawback)
Slider was getting Loose after 3 months of use(typical Nokia slider)
felt 'Cheap' becuase of the feel of plastic...which again is typical N-Series
Slow speed when going into Contacts and phonebook
and Gallery surfing
Video Recording in Dark places, dont even think about it!! ..


right so Yes K850i lost only becuase it doesnt have Wi-Fi, GPS etc etc..and Weird Keypad D-Pad design..
Otherwise K850i is VERY PERFECT..very close to Perfection ..but then you know the drawbacks soo..just live with it.

N95 8GB lacks becuase it has a WEIRD Slider and Button Layout! ..hard to use to be honest..
and the slider was loose abit only after 3 months use...it felt as if it was going to fall off. and its size was BIG compared to K850i but then 3.5mm jack doesnt really pass an advantage..since K850i has its on the Headset Wire, no fuss at all..(hope its stops people fussing now) and N95 8GB screen size was GOOD 2.8 Inches! really good. but then K850i's Display looked Natural and Bright! .

Music Playback..K850i won since it has better Sound Quality and Output and better Earphones supplied..and even through the Loudspeaker it was as LOUD as N95 8GB's stereo speakers. which wad Good

and Menu UI, i prefer K850i for alot reasons, it was easier to know were things are, e.g. Bluetooth all i need was click the Activity Menu and it was there.
N95 8GB i had to go through 3 menus just to activate the bluetooth..hmmmmm took its time..wasted lol

K850i was Goood becuase its smaller in Size and easier with Pockets..
N95 8GB bulged out alot..didnt really like that.


Camera UI on K850i was FASTER, and the Automatic Camera Cover opened fast then N95 8GB without a Camera cover, which was a surprise! ..
K850i was faster to change settings and quicker at taking pictures..then N95 8GB

this is the big one..
i took the same picture same view same angle same everything.
the result was..N95 8GB's picture looked abit Natural but it was Blurred and Dead Pixels were in..(thanks to no camera cover!)

K850i had Xenon Flash + Camera Cover + LED for video recording + FAST UI so it was all there and goood..
thats what i call a TRUE CAMERA PHONE the K850i

K850i won again in MEDIA, and Gallery
i opened both N95 8GB's Gallery and K850i's MEDIA button at the same time.

K850i was much FASTER and easier to use.

K850i was good at Multitasking to, yeah its Java but it felt like Symbian on the N95 8GB
one click of a button got you to..a Multitasking menu
K850i did it faster and easier...

right well iv done the testing and all the hard work..

its up you people who agree with me or who dont (you know who you are)

i like K850i, some like N-Series.

K850i wins Overall..between any of them.
might not have the feautures like N-Series, but im talking 'Overall' here..thats like Telephony, Speed, Multimedia, Camera, Music Player and Playback - K850i WINS!

K850i has won Overall..people will just have to accept it.

well i hope you lot enjoyed and agree with my review..

Been one Good 2 hours that test!, dayum.

the N95 8GB has the LATEST FIRMWARE for ** sake..

dont change things ok, Symbian really isnt Perfect and have you seeen the list of drawbaks of N95 8GB as compared to K850i?

N95 8GB has a BIGGGGG LIST of drawbacks which i found in it..

K850i has Lesss drawbacks, and more Advantages over N95 8GB and same would apply with the original N95 and N82..

Symbians really i dont like Symbian..and N95 8GB i dont like either.
the size put me off N95 8GB its like a Glossy Brick..

i agree it has Wi-Fi GPS etc etc WOW!..there not as good Laptops, or tomtoms..
iv tested Laptops,Tomtoms to..better then N95 8GB

nick, just accept the fact, your NOT convincing in this forum..

I Hate N-Series..

but LOVE Sony Ericsson

This is really a crap phone with poor build quality that takes very nice pictures. But too bad that dust accumulates under the lens glass within months. It's like a little cloud now, almost a a year later.

Also the phones often doesn't charge anymore making me want to throw it against a wall sometimes. In fact, I'm about to buy something else and then I probably trash this, this thing.

Wired - the phone uses power to produce sound.

Wireless - the phone produces power to produce wireless info to bluetooth device.

advantage of wired:
- a solid conductor is better than aerial conductor. wired has better fidelity.
- speakers does not consume power.
- less maintenance
- cheaper

advantage of wireless
- freedom
- less annoyance/ better comfort
- no pleated wire problem
- less hazardous


there is no competition really between wired and wireless.
It's still under preferences.

Why do you people love to debate over things that can't be settled? human nature I guess..
