so what's your advice to avoid getting that BROD or it could really happen to any of our phones in an instant? (scary!) well, i turned off the auto rotation and is using my phone at a minimal rate. i hope that it could get fixed on the succeeding firmware versions.
btw, the fw ver of my phone is R1EA031. i don't know if this is a good version since i read in other forum that this could be the fastest fw ver. currently but i also read somewhere that after he upgraded to this version, he got the BROD thing. that's why im really worried about BROD.

Honestly, there are a lot of people like me that don't use jbenchmark because they show random results every so often.
The Blue Ring of Death, or BROD is just like what happens when you overclock your PC over its working limitations. Overclocking was done by either SE or third-party software developers to speed up the phone.
K850 is equipped with ARM9, which is inferior to N95s ARM11. the thing that makes ARM9 slower with the k850 is the accelerometer, autocontrast, and autorotate function.
Hopefully SE would identify the BROD issue. If you e-mail SE about BROD, they will not be able to answer you coz they don't know the term BROD, which was made-up by some SE fanatics and some angry mob.

I think all 4gb microSD are HC (high capacity).
If you have a 4gb microSD try it, don't be afraid. If problems occur like abnormal slowing down, make sure its authentic - fake cards and second-rate cards are available every where.

well actually the music player can be accessed in one button (multimedia key)
or
sliding the phone to landscape and hitting play
the gallery can accessed by one button (the random key on the side)
and the camera can be accessed in one key (the camera key on the side)
or
by opening the lens cover
so er what dani?
the n95 is a multimedia powerhouse so you're speaking crap once again.

i dont know how to use the other jbenchmark-like app.cant seem to find the specs for screen color if it's 65536 or 262k colors.hehe..
anyway, if you would browse Jbenchmark.com, you'll see that among the latest sony ericsson phones(disregarding xperia), k850i is the ONLY phone that has 65,536colors.
click on k800i or k810i. their test is actually 262k colors. even previous phones like k550i, k610i, k600i, k750i etc also has 262k colors!!!
i'm really really surprised that Sony Ericsson had to LIE. i already sent an email to them regarding this.
don't get me wrong but i really feel it's their responsibility to tell 100% truth to consumers/buyers.
anyway, i would like to ask WHAT TRIGGERS our phone to get BROD? im really worried that it might happen to any of our phones. if you're phone gets this BROD thing, can it be fixed by reflashing, reprogram of phones or is it DEAD already and can never be resurrected?

If I HAD to choice to be given either of those phones and it was a life or death situation I would probably choose the k850...In reality I wouldn't have either, i think they both resemble bricks.
BUT by comparing the camera the N95 does show up better as it seems to blur most of the noise, which isn't a good thing as details of the images become burry. Noise however, is fixable if you have the right software like Photoshop. But most people who own Photoshop have a pretty good camera anyway...
I much prefer SE's interface as opposed to Nokias.
They should have put wifi in this

it's camera is not as good as nokia during night time or if u take pictures in a dark area. unlike a 3.2mp nokia fon does. it's not a good camer fon if u are after its 5mp resolution. 3.2mp nokia cam fon is much better than this!!!!!!! just a waste of money buying this one!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I'll be very very busy at school and at work these following days so I will not be visiting this site every so often.
I'll just leave the crappy video I had earlier to show that k850 can play youtube via www.youtube.com.
But the video is too crappy and the video sample did not play (or maybe I was just too impatient to wait) but at least I have shown people that it can access a vid from desktop youtube.

I Hope someone can help me...I need to buy a multimedia phone and I haven't decided yet between N81 8GB or K850...I like the memory and the software of Nokia but also I'd like the 5 Mpx of Sony...and if someone could tell me about this if the camera of K is a good choice...I hope someone can help me and decide about these two mobiles. i dont understand why are u fighting about 2 telephones. the truth is that the n 95 in better than the k850i. i have the second one and i love it,but the n 95 is more expensive,and smarter than the k 850i. the camera and the player in the k850I is far BETTER than is n 95. deal with it

and dani, they all beat the k850 in terms of multimedia in every single aspect. in fact there isnt a single way in which the k850 trumps the Nseries for multimedia.
the nseries support so many formats (+divx if you install the divx player) so its just so effortless with the nseries. the k850 cannot compete with a smartphone
