right i saw one of these up close and personal.

first of all, it looks great. I had a green one but ive also used a blue one.

camera looked unimpressive, its gota be said.

at the end of the day it is just another phone but with the 5mp camera resolution.

      not breaking any boundaries

I have now laid my hands to all the important 5 mp phones, so i ll post about my impressions on N95 8G, SE K850 and N82

            N95 8G
            Pros:
-biggest screen, playing games and watching films have a sense in this phone
-loudest ringer, K850 second, N82 comes third
            -biggest memory atm
            -The best video abilities
            -8G...

            Cons:
            -Oversized
            -The worst battery
            -No camera lens and xeon
            -Most expensive
            -No motions sensor

            K850
            pros:
            -Most compact size
            -Cheapest
            -Best camera capabilities(functions)
-Best screen quality(high contrast and brightness and best pixel/dimensions ratio)
-Best sound quality (both with or without the headphones)
            -Best battery by far
            -Fastest menu and photo taker
            -Best motions sensor
            -supports both memory stick kinds

            Cons:
            -Smallest screen
-No GPS build in (for the prices
nokia phones need to pay to get the maps,
k850 can get the gps accessory, witch is said to have even better accuracy, i havent tested it yet)
-Smallest video resolution (but very good framerate, all of the videos still shows pixels on pc and TV screens, even for N95 and N82)
            -No wifi and infrared
-No mini USB and 3,5 jack ports, the SE mini port has a tendency to create problems in the future and has to be heavily used for all purposes

            N82
            Pros:
            -More GPS functions
            -Good enough starting memory
            -Almost acceptable battery consumption
-It will become cheaper than it is in the near future
            -Stereo speakers sound cool
-IMO more all in one than N95

            Cons:
            -Too long
-It looks cheaper and more fragile than the other two
-Even slower than N95, it has the slowest menu and thats weird because its advertised as faster than N95, maybe a new update will make it run faster optimizing all drivers
-Thats the only GPS i had the chance to try and its horrible
-Slowest USB data transfer rate and also it doesnt charge while plugged
-Its not BLACK!!! (i guess they will make a black N82 with 8G soon ;-) )

I got this phone last week as a free upgrade (so don't need to mention price) and
I'm astounded by this phone, its fantastic!

At first I was a bit aprehensive about this handset after reading some genuine reviews, but I figured if you're gonna go SE, you might as well get the best they offer! ...and I'm pleased I did!

I can see why users may not like the keypad, but I think its fine. Its fairly tactile and not as cluttered (with the D-pad surrounding the 2 and 5) as you might think! I'm still getting used to the keypad but it doesn't take long to master as with any new phone, and besides, if you hit the wrong key thats not considered normal, for example, texting; then the phone/UI asks you whether you wish to continue the action or return to writing the text.
Great for anyone who has big fingers and thumbs! (not me, I got piano fingers!)

The User Interface is very friendly and easy to use, though I would've liked to be able to change the touch-screen shortcut keys, but they're pretty sensibly assigned so its not a problem for me! And SE have ditched the dedicated Internet/WAP key that was found on other handsets, so you can't accidently start 'surfing' (thrust me it happens!)
The touch-screen keys are responsive and a good idea as it utilises space, so the screen can be as big as it is without compromising the overall size of the phone, while also giving room for a well-spaced keypad.

The screen is bright and vibrant, so bright in fact that I walked into a bin on the way down the street while texting, I suggest no one does that! ;)
Its really easy to read and I can't honestly see the difference between 256k and 16 million as I am Myopic, so that comparison is wasted on me!

The camera is excellent! I still can't believe how good it is considering its on a phone! The picture quality is staggering, and features that the camera comes with is brilliant!
For example; I know that the N95 takes a picture and adds colour to make it more vibrant, my mate's have got them! But when I take a picture with my K850i, it captures natural colours and tones. However, if you wish to spice up the picture you can use 'Photofix' or/and 'PhotoDJ' to add colurs, tones and contrast to pictures giving you the option of alternates, whereas the N95 doesn't give you the option of natural colour and tones!
The flash is incredible, and 'red-eye' reduction is also a feature, as is the classic half-button depression auto-focus! I haven't played with the ISO settings yet, but tis likey to improve my picture taking!

I also heard rumours about the K850i being a fingerprint magnet, and these rumours are true! However, although the plastic/glass outer shell covers the camera lens and shutter, it is not as prone to smudging as you might think! I find a quick wipe with my shirt over the lens is all thats needed before I take the picture, it must take all of 2 seconds!
The video's fine in my opinion, as all I do is record my mate's acting like tool's on a dancefloor and play it back to them on my phone, or post it on a forum! The k850i and N95 screen's are both QVGA (320 x 240) so any video's watch on either look the same! :)

The build quality is great overall, really solid. My keypad nearing the screen and touch sensitive buttons did squeak a little but thats now gone so I guessed I've broken in the keypad!

The battery life is also high quality. The bastard won't die, I've tried! :)

The auto-rotation is a great gimick and its quite helpful! The bizarre use of the motion sensor has to be while playing the old Atari classic 'Marble Madness'!!!

As to not having GPS or Wi-FI; I asked my friends who have N95's and they said that they hardly use those features anyway! And besides, if I really wanted GPS I'd get the SE enabler, and I got the Internet at home, work, and a Voda-card for the company laptop so I don't need Wi-Fi on my handset!

To summerise, this phone has it all for me and will suit many others too. This phone will definately stand the test of time! :)

                Cheers!

The only problem i had with this phone was the photos taken in the dark or low light turned out dark themselves. But this is because a little bit of my finger was hanging over the edge while it flashed. Problem solved, now i love it.

                      To 0hpa,

You can use mp3 and wma formats as ringtones for this phone.

As for transferring music, the k850i comes with a PC cable co you can upload any music you like onto the phone, like you would an iPod. It can also be used as a mass storage device, say for physical tranfer of data back and forth to Uni!

                      Laters :)

i hav just bought my K850i unit 4 days ago.. the fone is great, lots of new features, the touchscreen for soft keys is good, but too sensitive, whenever my fingers unknowingly touch those sensors it opens the menu already.. speaker sound is not too impressive unlike my previous unit 6233, well of course it has two speakers.. camera is good but it cannot outstand the very good quality of K800i, the unit has a very strong flash... but i like its screen so large.. well, if i rate this unit its 9/10... i'm beginning to like SE now..

I do agree as to the durability and wonderful digital camera features of SE. I don't have 850 yet, but I'm eager to own one.

One more thing, while I do believe that criticisms are important to help consumers evaluate the product properly, there are however, several ways to say or write it professionally. Wish those people read the Posting Rules carefully.
