      i've had my hands on the k850 for 2 days and this is what i've found so far...
      -the phone physical aspect looks a bit chunky comparing to my k800i
      -the cancel key and the shortcut key is a bit too small but still useable while walking and using the keypad
      -people keep on arguing its hard using the new d-pad but i found no problem using it..its a whole new experience for me and i found it pleasant..
      -the camera itself takes beautiful pictures in good light conditions but you will need to boost the iso up to 400 for poor light conditions
      -while typing message and using media player, the phone will lag a bit

        @kDnq
        Thanks man; enjoyed yours as well. English/British right? Wish I lived there just so I could say f-ing c**t w/o anyone batting a eye.
        @Nanghinayang(thats alotta name)
        It does have 3.5mm jack at the end of fast-port connector, which incorporates a mic into the jack allowing you to use headphones you choose to(it comes with crap ones cause its not a walkman series) and still take calls w/o having to remove phone from pocket/ or headphones from ear. Like the old wired headsets, except in stereo.

            this would have been perfect if it had a 3.5mm audio jack, document viewer and TV out. but in fairness, the 3led video light and xenon flash combo is something unique in a camfone.

                @4Bbn
                OMG! I can't wait for another symbian OS phone! I love all the crashes and freezes and hang ups. There the best. I hope it looks just like the k550 does only silver and glossy and bigger. And if it has a xenon flash w/o the l.e.d. for video and torch i'll be psyched. I hope it has a 3.5mm jack built in so I dont have to use the SE quickport with in-line mic and have the convenience of not having to remove my headphones to take a call while i'm listening to my music. If n82 has all that sign me up! I'll pay the $150 more for it.

                    I'm not a fanboy of any company, I just like what works. I am a photographer so I was looking for a phone to do a mediocre to decent job when I was without my cameras.

                    I've tried both the N95 and this and I stuck with the k850i.

                    The camera, if you know how to use one beat the N95 in all aspects for me. The Nokia overcompensated in low light and though it had less noise it removed far too much detail.

                    Someone said the k850i was slow, compared to what? It's twice as fast as the Nokia and not slow to me at all. Even the touch keys respond immediately!

                    They keys do take a day or two to get used to and if you're someone who has conversations via sms I'd suggest trying before buying. Myself I was more concerned with camera and multimedia performance.

                    By far this is the easiest mobile I've owned as far as hot swapping the memory card goes. The camera like cover opens very easily.

                    It is very nice having EDGE as well as my home just falls outside of 3G coverage. Browsing via opera mini and sending email in EDGE areas is very quick for me but network dependent.

                    Overall I'm very happy. A bit better navigation key and less glossiness and it would've been perfect to me.

                        Its funny how Nokia's N82 has just totally killed any business for this phone!

                        why would anyone buy this over the N82?

                            i am really leaning towards that Nokia N82 after not really good reviews for SE K850. This is after i have hated nokias for years!

                              @k.v. kannan+abhishek
                              You must realize that most of the negative opinions/reviews you see in this forum and most others are from "nokia fanboys" that are just trashing the phone w/o ever atually owning or even touching/handling the k850i. "got it yesterday, hated it, sending it back." ie. The post below. He's never held a k850i/taken a picture/or messed with UserInterface. He lists Infrared as a missing feature, IR is a dated and unecessary feature. (bluetooth has replaced it). GPS headset is available for it. wifi comes with risk of viruses/trojans, and 3g is as fast as public wifi. I'll tell you that this is a great phone. Great walkman(comes with crappy earphones though and has a 3.5mm jack so you can switch them with whatever you want) Best 5mp camera phone there is as of yet. Time will prove this with firmware upgrades. It's only weakness is its video recording, which is still decent. Just read through some of my past posts and links. Check them out and make a decision. I try my best to go by fact and and useful unbiased opinions. Buy it unlocked if ya can. Alot of branding affects features/performance.

                                  @Token, johnny boy
                                  This stuff is highly scratch proof and quite thin. It is not tacky to touch or clothing, but will help prevent your phone from sliding around a car's dashboard. Thats the best i can describe texture. I did manage to "scuff" my screen section on my w810i after about my 10th time doing a "demo" with my car keys for friends. I'd had a few too many and maybe was a lil overzealous with it. Just too much pressure and too many stella's(heavy hands),something it wouldn't ever run into in everyday use. All it did was scuff though(Not scratch). When the screen is on you CAN'T tell its there, only when it's off can you notice the key scuffs. Just have to re-order that section.(lifetime warranty) I'll let you know how the warranty part goes.
                                  I have the full-body on my 30gb ipod and also w810i. They cut around any recess' or raises in the body on w810i. Ipod is completely covered;wheel/button, everything. It doesn't cover camera on w810i. Take a look on the website at the w810i full-body diagram. That's pretty much what i think they'll have for the k850i. The k850's back is a scratch-prone material. (clear/glossy over black background) My friend already has a small scratch in the back of his.
                                  As clear as this stuff is, I dont think you could have it over a camera lens w/o it affecting photos. It will give you plenty of confidence to throw your phone in your pocket, car center-console, .... w/o having to worry about it. Don't know if it is a fact, but i read that you can replace the camera lens/cover whatever it is, by popping it out. Plus this would raise it from the surface that little bit more. I still think the ring around the camera will stand off the body more than this stuff. Its very thin. I did the pen test too with the xtra bits. It works.

                                    Kim Santana, hi there!!

                                    The camera is not bad at all..you just have to learn to use the right modes that is right for the kind of picture you are going to take. it has a lot of modes to choose from:) it is very simple!!

                                      To EVERYBODY HERE!

                                      they say the screen is scratch free, but its not, i already have many scratches in my screen...its only a mineralglass screen, you need safireglass to make it completly scratch free..the same glass that is on many watches for example! this glass is to avoid deeeeeeeeeep scratches..but you will get scratches anyway..! so this is a negative side of this phone. about the phones "body", the material it is made of is very nice, it doesnt pinch or make any oise when you text or use the phone..the bad thing is that it leaves fingermarks, but if you buy a "mobiledeo" like we have in norway, you can remove al of the dirt and marks on it. otherwice, we dont have any bodyskins for this phone in norway, but i know that in many countries you can buy a plastic cover for it, but dirt, dust and etc, will get in there anyway..

                                      Cheers:)

                                        Hi Ed,

                                        Just checked out that Shieldzone website you gave us, very impressive! They ship to the UK too, which is a big bonus! :)

                                        However, after looking at the online videos and catalogue list, I think the only product they'll offer to K850i customers is a screen protector, and not a full-over body glove!

                                        Though I do not own this phone (yet!), it seems the silver ring surrounding the camera lens is indented into the body and so not flush with the back surface. This may cause a few problems (like pinching) when smoothing the Shield over the back surface!

                                        Of course, the Shield manufacturer's could leave a hole in the template where the camera lies, but wouldn't that defeat the object of the Shield in the first place?

                                        What I mean is; I, personally, would like to essensially protect the screen and the glass/plastic over the camera so I didn't get flawed pictures through scratches, and protecting the lovely screen SE's kindly given us, I don't really care too much about the body work! So leaving a hole in the template to navigate around the camera would be a waste of time for me!

                                        Maybe they'll produce a protective Shield disc that fits snug in the hole...
                                        who knows? :)

                                        In saying all of this, maybe its for the best as Polyurethane may have a Refractive Index thats different to the protective glass of the phone, which of course would cause unwanted visual effects...

                                        So, to wrap this up:
                                        Do you have a full-over body Shield on any of your devices?
                                        If so, do they feel rubberly and have trouble pulling the device out of your pocket due to the materials restrictive nature?

                                        Sorry for the rantings, Ed. The opinions you post do help alot of people, including me!

                                        Cheers mate! :)
