The best 5mp cameraphone available. Great looking especially the blue one. Its not that great looking in some magazines and photos but when you hold it, its just so gorgeous. Got to play with the scene modes and you will produce the best picture made by a phone today. The new platform is also great. I came from N95 then K810. Viva cybershot.

i've read too many reviews - some good, some bad. a lot are complaints about the camera. but come to think of it, when i buy this phone, it is because i want a phone, not a camera. i think i like the changes in the phone, and the camera is just a plus. it's just a feature which is there if and when i need it. but come to think of it, i use my phone basically to call and send sms anyway. i don't even use the calendar function and other features. that's what my pda is for. and i use my dvd cam when i need to shoot videos, and my cybershot cam when i need quality pictures. so i don't really care about the camera in this phone anyway.

function is nothing much different with k810,majority of the function is ok,but only certain things that i m not satisfied,k850 have a high quality camera,but it just only has a 252k display,an
d most of the handset already had 16m for now a day,i mean which with 5mp camera,and it lack of speed,you will found out it is slow when you try to access the function,hope se will think of the 'ingredient' beside the out look.i m always a se support even now a day even that i swich on and off in between a few brands,se makes me think twice when end up with a lot of software probelm,and currently i m using p1i.

Could someone try aacPlus (.aac) music track on there phone & let me know if it support it n if the sound quality is good n aslo does it display correct ID2/ID3 tagging please.
Coz I would like to buy this phone but need to know whether it will support aacPlus.

hey trini i wouldn't get the W960i because in terms of price it'll be the same as k850i maybe even more and i heard the screen on the w960i isnt as good as the other ericsson's because the screen has some type of protection glass on top that makes the screen look a but dull plus the walkman 3.0 player is in the k850i what more could you ask for?

I've sent an Email to Sony Ericsson today about when they're gonna release the new firmware update, as I've read alot of the same complaints as you've had!
As for me, I don't upgrade to this phone til late next month, so hopefully SE would have already installed the new updated firmware for their second shipment!

nothin is goin to be good enuf for 2 yrs...technology is advancing leaps n bounds...one yr is a gud enuf time for technoloogy to take the next big step...but ifu ask me i think w960 is a gud choice for the inbuilt memory n 3 mgapixel camera...since i have an iphone i will never consider w960i...caz iphone n ipods got the best music

Thanks worm. I tried that. I went to sonyericsson.com and registered myself. Then I went to Update Service page and downloaded the Update Service Setup they told me to. And I followed all the steps they told me to. And at the end it said : "You phone already has the latest sowtware". So, that means I have to stick with these bugs a few days more or even weeks. Geez...

For those who wants to upgrade the firmware, maybe u can try connecting the phone to your computer using the USB cable, go to sony ericsson website and u can do the firmware upgrade yourself(if they have the new ones)online. No need to go to the agent or manufacturer to get it done. The website will tell u step by step instruction on how to upgrade your phone.

if u have problems with dark pictures, maybe u wanna try to adjust the settings and maybe try to learn a bit more from the internet about how fill flash actually works. If you try to take a picture with a very strong or bright backlight, then i think your object will be bright but your background will go dark. try using night scene or night potrait preset in your phone. And maybe u wanna try to email sony ericsson regarding the effective distance of the K850 xenon flash

my nokia n76 i give it back two times to fixed and the phone continue to have problems.when i ask to fnac about nokia it tells me that the nokia they have the biggest problems and the sonyericsson the less.so nokia not conecting people collecting money and disconect people.and also nokia phones the are so expencive.sorry for my english but i am from greece

The flash sometimes is too weak or goes on too early and I get the so called "dark picture"
Did anybody know what to do??
Pls help me.
