Dear Nokia fanboy, if u say that Sony use cheap lenses then i am really sorry to say that u r too unfortunate for not having a single Sony product. Does your Nokia make standalone camera, music player, tv, movies that includes OO7, gps, Xplod car music system, tv channel, music label, Handycam etc. Comeon dont fight with Sony. Dont show torch to sun. Use Nokia tyres and dance.

Ed, I see you are just another Sony Ericsson fanboy.
1)That doesn't make any sense.
2)There are always Sony Ericsson fanboys who claim that a proper firmware could solve a phone's problem, which I'm tired of. I agree with you that it definitely has the best xenon flash in any camera phones and it is the most capable at taking photos and editing them. However, how do you prove that the optics are the best of any camera phones? I bet it has some cheapskate lense!

Well i decided to buy the phone after reading everybodys comments, iv upgraded from a w810i and im really pleased. The camera is great for a phone.. the music is nice and loud also the colours are really nice. The menu layout and the photo options you get are really good too. Only thing im having to get used to is the keys, theres nothing wrong with how the work its just the size of the actual button its a tad too small. This phone i would only recomend to nimble fingered people because people with big fingers arent gonna be able to text properly. overall 9/10

6D0H, I have to agree with you.
Nokia may have great functions but those individual functions can't perform well compared to individual functions of Sony Ericsson phones, which has a strong emphasis on a specific function. E.g. camera or music. Sony Ericsson phones are basically simple and do what it needs to do at best. However, I would like Sony Ericsson phones to have a good camera and music player AT THE SAME TIME, which they can't do!

It's starting to get annoying and stupid on how people keep blaming SE for not making this phone like smartphone-esque.
Personally, WLAN is far less important then having a full touchscreen UI. Going with a smartphone software is less important then having a software that allows you to change orientation with the accellerometre. Having a GPS is just... I'd rather take a map, then have to ask and show people the tiny little map on my phone's screen on directions.
The only flaw with GPS, what if you're on the go and don't know the address? Then GPS is as insolent as a map. I'm sorry, but for the Nokiafanboys who just keep coming back, it's the truth, I'd rather not take a larger phone with such useless features like WLAN, GPS and a TV-Out port. It's better to keep everything simple to one port, and multiuseage bluetooth. That's why it's Sony Ericsson, because they're the only ones with home theatre systems and full surround stereo players with bluetooth capabilities.
The ones that are out now even glamorize the way this phone looks by matching it's glossy look from the back.

I got this phone a week ago and love it! I used to be all about nokia but I wanted to try something different. I still love nokia, but I found this phone to be more "fun" to use. Only downside for me is that it attracts fingerprints easily. Havent had any of the problems people are talking about...yet.

Better buy this phone after the firmware update.
Right now u can have a go at SE T650,K810 or W850i. Or u can wait for the 8 GB Walkman monster W960i on December.

Managed to fix the "operation failed" problem with the text messages! Save everything to your sim and memory card, then do a "Master Reset" on your phone. Bit of a pain, yes, but it does resolve the problem, although, if it fixes it permanently is yet to be seen!

i juz use dis phone for few days... i think is ok..is consider great! the only is, the phone is heavy...if can more light then is good!and the button is quite hard to press it..all the function in the phone is GOOD! the camera is good , n the sound is oso good! no any complain for dis phone!

Come on guys. Stop posting craps like what 4Bn does. This is a great forum to exchange ideas with responsibility. If you haven't got this phone dont say things like you've own one. Even I became afraid buying this, but my suprise this is a solid handset, pretty good considering I came from N95. Post with responsibity man, esp you 4Bn, act like a homo sapien.

everything that i've read in forums is that in mid-november there will be a firmware update available. Not guaranteeing anything, just what i've read.
I saw the spy pics of the so-called "successor" to the k850i.(I'd link u, but i'm lazy) Just put "k860i" in google search. It should come up 2nd or 3rd. It had a slimmer design of the k810i style camera side w/slide lens cover protector showing 3x optical on the slide. The front side looked just like the k850i. Also remember reading that this was cancelled project.(what the k850 could have been) Or someone just had some time on their hands. But the pieces fit too well together to be a hoax IMO. Maybe it is what's to come. Wouldn't expect it anytime soon though.
Having a hard time holding off on this phone too. Have had the plastic in hand several times now. Buddy has it. He paid $598 for it. (blue one) Played with it for like a hour. loved it. At&t is suppose to be picking it up here in the states. Figure it will be $299.99 w/2year contract more or less. Depending on cost at that time, either go unlocked or contract it and unlock it later.

Nokia fanboys always feel insecurity with Sony Ericsson thats y u can see these muddy creatures at every Sony Ericsson forum. They fall for Sony product but they dont buy it. Instead they sing for the honour of old and 82% flop Nokia N Series. Due to jealousy they come with different names and show that they bought se and its not good. While Sony customers are loyal and satisfied and they never do cheap things.

In "t3" magazine, it says that sonyericsson k800i takes much better pictures than nokia n95, and overall better phone. compare n95 with k800i not k850i.

I bought the K850, used it for 4 days and sold it! I'm just saying that this phone is not what i need, that's all! I didn't like it...
SE can do better!
