I have the N95 and K850 as mentioned..i have spent a day with each phone..honestly i find the N95 still better. K850 doesnt look as good and glossy like the pictures. If youve seen it in ur hands or from a friend, you will see that the green ring is really cheap looking..It feels plasticish..The touchscreen is well annoying..the responsiveness is really good when you dont want to press it, but when you do try takes a few hits before it confirms your choice..In addition the brightness is really bad, colors are dull..N95 still beats this phone..no in design but quality and what you get..

HI all, just noticed that some people seem to be saying the camera is not great in some lighting conditions, i got this phone yesterday, and i found that in lighter conditions, you should turn the flash off, i think it dims the general lighting exposure so you dont get a glare on your picture, when i took some pictures in medium light with flash off the pics looked great, and as for dark conditions, the flash makes the pictures look great, this is me going from a p990i with the 2mp camera to this so i am very impressed with the overall picture quality.if your in lower l;ight, but not dark enough for flash, use the exposure button to lighten the overall image before the picture, plus photofix will help aswell.

    Hope that was somewhat helpful

Please buddies, STOP arguing and help me with the flash settings. Pleeeease ? ? ? I just read on the ESATO forum about some sort of flash sync problem this phone has. They give no remedy thou and talk about a future firm ware upgrade to fix it. Aren't there any settings I can try?

Still with limited phonebook... (1000 entries) Sony Ericsson grow up! Nokia's 6600 has practically unlimited phonebook when was Nokia 6600 release 2003? What's the use of a large memory phone with limited phonebook? MP3 player? Well, better buy an an Ipod or Iphone. I just had my K810 & I am very very disappointed with the phonebook. I still loved my Nokia 6600.

Mubarak, I'm sorry if I have offended you. However, I did clarify that Nokia and its N95 is not perfect. I'm not trying to defend any brands. I'm just trying to tel lthe SE fanboys that the K850i is not as good as they think it is. They have to face reality!

This forum is for exchanging openions and true experience, so that the readers will be benefitted out of it. They can solve their existing problems or decide whether to buy this phone or not. It is apetty to read that some are defending N95 or other brands, and others are devaluing. This forum is for K850 so write the good things and the bad things about this phone, and avoid throwing bad words. Everyone suppoed to be respectable.

the GPS reciever is already in the headset. once you connect the headset to the phone, it will work. If you haven't heard about this GPS enabler, you can visit sonyericsson site and update your knowledge.

I used smartphones since nokia 3650 launched and worked with applications and all type of files and file managers and played inside phones, so naturally I have the experience and do not need a certification from any one.

Lots of people who comment on the phone on here has never even help the handset or used it.

N95 is too big as i've got one and the battery is crap as i've got to charge the bloody thing everyday.

K85o batterylife is very good and it's not a bad h.set neither and it's very cheap, who ever said the h/set is too expensive must be on the dole or haven't got a proper job

Oh, and the K850i is NOT going to compete with the N95. The K850i is a camera phone and the N95 is a smartphone, two different animals. I believe that the K850i is going to compete with the Samsung G800 and the LG Viewty.

I love SE, your name says it all. You will always be defending Sony Ericsson. No manufacturer in the world is perfect, same goes for Nokia.
I have to admit, I do feel ashamed to own a Nokia sometimes, since people keep dissing the brand and the phones they make are not as good as, lets say, Sharp and Toshiba. Sharp has produced the V903SH two years ago, and the photos taken from it beats any Sony Ericsson or Nokia phones produced today!

Mubarak, do not be arrogant. No one called you an expert. You are only a self-proclaimed expert in smartphones!
The whatever GPS Enabler is useless! From what I know, you cannot directly receive GPS. Instead, you have to connect to another phone that has a GPS receiver via bluetooth. It is useless!
EddieAdamsFromTorran, now I understand what you are talking about, the GPS enabler, after Mubarak has mentioned that.

---->>Free Wifi are dangerous as stream of virus and trojans are always floating. Payed wifi is good. but whenit comes to pay then its always beter to pay for GPRS / EDGE /3G internet.

-->> GPS enabler is AVAILABLE for K850i go and check Sony Ericsson.com accessory page.

If you dont know anything about SE then please keep quiet.

                                    Media manager is quite good.

EddieAdamsFromTorran, reviews are just part of the story!

The K850i is cheaper than N95. However, the K850i is still expensive at its current price, considering that it is just an ordinary phone with a camera mounted on it!

You are just blatantly defending the K850i!

1)You say that the connection speed of public Wi-Fi is capped and the K850i has 3G, which allows a faster connection. However, likewise, the N95 has 3G as well! Wi-Fi is slow, but it is free! Please think before you write!

2)I have not heard of a GPS enabler for K850i . Also, you have no rights to judge whether a GPS in a phone is applicable, just because you do not need it! Stop saying, "From what I have read..." Informations from other people are not necessarily correct! You do not own the K850i nor the N95, so shut up! Also, to correct you, the basic GPS function in the N95 is free. You have to pay for the extra functions like voice activation.

3)For this point, I have to agree with you. I have an N93i, so I know how irritating it is to have the port at the side.

4)Since you have mentioned that you cannot tell the difference between the screen resolutions of the N95 and the K850i, why did you say that the N95 has a better screen resolution initially? This is contradiction! Well, the screen of the N95 has 16 000 000 colours, while the screen of the K850i has 256 000 colours which is a year 2005 technology. That is a BIG difference! You cannot deny that! You are also attacking the N95 by saying that it has a low battery life! Do not forget that the K850i has a battery with a small capacity as well!

5)I don't mind you being optimistic by saying that the K850i will produce a find video. However, the N95 is definitely the winner here, no matter how good a video the K850i can produce!

I have to admit that the N95 can be slow sometimes, so I will agree with you. However, you cannot compare the K850i with the N95! N95 is a "computer phone", while the K850i is just a camera phone. What's more, the N95 can support Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat and some more softwares, but the K850i cannot.

Please help me - I have just bought a k850i mostly because of the camera which is 'supposed' to be good. What a lie by the manufacturer - yes, it has got a flash but it seems is definitely not well in sync with the camera shutter because the pictures come out very dark. In day light all is just fine but at night the camera is pretty useless. I have tried different settings to no avail. Please help me with ideas, otherwise I will have to return it within 7 working days and get something als.
