N95 is better than the K850 in so many ways its impossible to compare them to each other.
K850 display is only 262,144 colours where as the N95 has 16 million colours, DVD quality recording and play back.
I could keep going but I wont. if all you guys can do is pick on the poor battery that is very sad

It's not because the N95 came out, or that we're big time SE fans. Who cares about the company. What if Nokia released designs that SE currently has? They're just names.

This SE K850 specifically, being just another phone with 5Mp is better in my eyes for my uses and such. Though many people have took those reasons that I have for not liking the N95 and preferring the K850 as flames towards Nokia. Sure they are, but the flames don't apply to everyone.

Anyway, congrats to the people who have the first N95, now you're screwed if you like large memory, but either way you're without good battery life. Good job to the people who preserved while N95 came out, and the K850 caught your eye. Good job to the people who're abstaining until 2008, the real stage for all the camera phone goliaths. And good job to the people who over look this phone and go for either the W960 or W910 for their more practical uses as a music smart phone, or just a stylish large screened and cool phone.

agreed that the D-Pad's kind of weird to use, but like some SEs, they always have to be gotten used to, to be great. Coming from a background of Nokias (I knew nothing about phones then) and Motorola, Samsung is somewhat of a hidden within a fog of war kind of phone. And SE, I can manage if it's their common menu system like in the W810, K800 or the W300.

btw, this is a new design from SE, unlike how Nokia has the same keypad over and over again, though they've stayed on top of their game with the exterior design.

I want to see the S series not be a stylish series, I want it to be the super series where it has every usability of the M series, quality of the K series and the fun of the W series xP

According to the Sony Ericsson website, the K850i is quad band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900), EDGE, HSDPA, 3G (UMTS 850/1900/2100). The K850c is quad band (850/900/1800/1900) and EDGE. Go check it out for yourself. (It's also the same thing for the W910i/c.

the N95 has very poor battery life agreed?? but the camera quality is excellent. i no its the 1st 5mp cam so i have nothing to caompare it against but can we stop this war or at least postpone it til the k850 is released. only when there is a phone to compare to the n95 can we truly say SE reigns supreme!!!! lmao

            I think it's a big no-no for the D-pad to be with the 2 and 5 keys.

look, i don't have anything with any brand, but the way u say SE is the god brand! c'mon!

SE is a good brand, i admit this! but spirits should calm down a bit here since it isn't gsmwar.com
i'd really want to see some new designs from SE

I can't say moto sucks, because I love my MaxxV6 and the V9 was going to be one of my choices, but the only thing that had me hooked was it's touchscreen.
If I can control music just by shaking it, then I've got to say, it's only another reason for me to avoid people saying to me. "Eww another RAZR" though even if I don't get the V9, I won't be saying to other people that either.

Neither did I say SE was the best. I just said SE is trusted for their battery life, hence this SE wins in the race of the 5Mps. Also because I know that the quality of SEs are good, compared to Nokias. It's features that Nokia has for people to choose from. I won't be using GPS because I don't get lost, I have a photographic memory. I don't need WiFi because I'll be moving around alot, and Toronto here makes your pay $50 for just a few Mb, 3.5G is more secure, it being the carrier for the VideoTelephony and service for all 3.5G enabled phones (they haven't opened it up to all phones, though I've tried it on a N95, and it works, so only means quadband HSDPA enabled phones work). But still, that phone is too big for me and I don't like unsecure/sturdy constructed sliders, so the N95's out of my books.

But if you were to pair up each SE phone in the past with Nokia's contender, it would be that both would come out pretty even overall. Being that one company takes pride in it's quality of build and soon afterwards, overall quality, while the other keeps stuff features into each of their plastic phones. (My 6100 series flip and 3220 all broke from regular usage and became all dirty inbetween it's shells, though I had fun with the 3220's LEDs)
My W810 hasn't done that, or broke when I dropped it, and neither has my precious MaxxV6 when it had it's fateful and dramatic falls.

I'm looking forward to another high quality SE phone. And if the N82 doesn't fare to be big and simply put, a brick, then I'll look at putting it onto my consideration list beside the V9...

                        There's your 20Gb killer

Anyway, do any of the Nokia Fanboys (that's lurking around here to see if we've found out that the K850 IS truely better, beacuse of course, we haven't. That's why we're still here) know what's the address of the website that the count down of the N82 is?
To put it into words that you'll understand, I want to drool all over the moving ambient lights of the display and keypad. (It really just means I want to see what it looks like again cause I totally forgot it, being that I waved it off as just another Nokia a while ago.)

The N82 looks ok and it's specs are decent. But the thing that's going for me is the size and overall look of the phone in light and color. (price will also be a factor for me. I hear K850 goes for around 6 bills CAD)

I don't know what is wrong with SonyEricsson. What are they waiting for? Nokia, has already announced another N95. Are they planning to releas this when Nokia comes out with a 7MP cam?

lol, pqDk you're really insolent aren't you.
Then why don't I pick on the Nokia's 3200 series while I'm at it and say it's a piece of plastic compared to this.

We're talking about models that are within the ranges of these two phones, but I guess you'd also include the SE T68 in your view because you are just as daft. Compare the phones from Nokia in production and the phones from SE in production, battery life has never been a problem, for SE users.
Never have they had to find a wall every night before they go to sleep to make sure their phone is charged. SE made that a thing of the past, a long time ago. But then I guess Nokia hasn't copied that concept yet.

As well, everyone cares about battery life. I guess it's just you who likes to waste time going back home to charge it again after surfing the internet and listening to music at the same time. Or is it that you don't even have the lovely freedom of internet on your phone, because you haven't gotten it?
Oh well, not everyone likes to use ALL the features they get then. :/

I mean, that IS WHY people buy their phones. If you wanted a camera, then buy a camera. If you wanted to watch movies, then go buy a portable DVD player. If you wanted a GPS, get a hiking one, much better and more precise.
You're only getting the brim of the feature if you're using it on your phone and it's somewhat tedious to get so excited that the feature is on your phone when it's such a mediocre thing compared to the device it's trying to replace.

Handset appearance is great. Current Software has a few bugs. Switches off and freezes. Not Happy with the 3 "Hidden" buttons just below the screen, very difficult to use especially if you have big hands.

Picture quality is excellent, in fact its much better than the N95.

Does not support half rate, instead uses AMR.

I suggest you wait a few software releases before you get this Handset.
