Can the K850 be a replacement for a compact digicam?
The only thing that I don't like about the K850 is the QVGA (320 x 240) resolution. I've seen the tests and the N95 does such a good job in capturing videos (VGA 640 x 480).

Sony Ericsson, by far a better phone then Nokia! easier to use runs smoother Battery life outstanding.
And we having sold both brands we have more issue and come backs from the nokia's not the Sony ericsson's
Once you have used a sony ericsson you will never go back to the Nokia.

It has an auto lens cover.
It has decent tech but no wifi and sps in comparison to n95 , but the n95 is alot slower and annoying and the cybershot kicks the cams ass on n95! The cam on n95 is 5mp but not that good flash, so in the dark its useless.

To us, for your information, LG, Samsung, have been in the market for a long period of time. If you do some minor research, you will see. They've been manufacturing TV, fridge, mp3 players, monitors..... and have been very successful in Asia, I have my first mp3 player made by LG back in the 90's. For that matter, I trust LG, Samsung will offer a good product.

I am really happy to know that this will be the phone for which I always look around the internet. Almost all the features are present that I look for in different brands. Specially the video @30 frames per sec. with VGA resolution & Xenon flash with 3LED light will be great. I don't know how large memory card will it support because while shooting video @30 frames/sec a the normal card will be exhausted very fast. I am also not sure whether multi ocassion alarm is provided in this mode which Sony Ericsson is always lacking behind in their previous models. Also not sure how louder the speakerphone will be

hi... i was wondering since this is a 3G phone if it had a dual camera at the front. So that the other person can see your face while speaking. if not then how would be a 3G phone?

i really dont see why you geniuses are comparing this as a rival to nokia n95, when it simply isn't. only way i would call them rivals is thru the camera and if that's all you're bothered about, i wouldn't bother getting bigger pockets to squeeze the n95 tank in. se are gonna market this as a camera, whereas n95 is a office assistnt smartphone thingy. with a stupid amount of buttons on the front. and the weight of a small country.

TO Harlekkin: the camera can be good but the OS is a CR.P..
te screen is not so good.
I bet that the music player is bad.
and remember something, the final software of the k850 will be better and will improve the camera cuality, and if you need so much cuality buy a camera!

I work for a phone shop in Australia and i'm really excited about the K850. It's scheduled for release sometime in October, will retail at approx. $1000 and will be SE's 1st NextG capable phone. My SE rep's can't(or won't) give me any inforation on a K900... anyone know what's happening with it?

THE BEST CAMERA PHONE is not SE or Nokia...
======================================
I'm disappointed in SE, NOKIA and SHARP. They all provided revolutionary technology over the last couple of years, however, recent comparisons and samples of the N95, and preliminary samples of the K850i (mobile-review.com) DO NOT impress.
If you are not bound to 3G, get the i-mobile 902. With a Sony 5 Megapixel Camera (CCD) and interpolation of up to 8 Megapixels it IS one of the best I've seen.
See samples at mobile-review.com. It will blow your mind.

what I would like to say to the individual that will buy SE over Nokia because them making electronics longer,is that what you are saying is really pathetic. according to your logic,a newer brand like LG should be outta here already. get real, more marketing experience doesn't always mean better quality. if so SE k750i would not be having the joystick problem.

I read the White Paper of this phone and it says it can handle an additional 4GB memory card! how impressive!
