Had the k790, now the k810i, so the l850 will be the way to go. I have had amazing expierences with SE phones. I previously had the S710, W800...I will not go back to another brand, they have proven themselves to give products of high quality, durability, and style.
Only thing now, is what color will I choose?
p.s - was talking to Sony Ericsson reps, since I work at Rogers, expect this phone to be released closer to Christmas. Santa can expect this on my list :P !

GSMArena is getting serious on updating the K850 news, well done gsmarena though i think they also have to iclude furthermore that W910 and K850 are powered by JP-8 with two additional new SE JSR APIs i.e. the openGL es Java API and the JSR-256, the unique Java APIs from SE which enables the access to the accelerometer to use on games an more(which i was referring as a phone with a nintendo Wii similar style gaming)

Loving the phone guys and gals! not loving the fact that it seems to have really low scores, whats that about? hopefully its not the nokia fanboys being muppets, what happened to everyone getting the phone they want, and not slagging off another phone just because you dont want it.shame really, these threads used to be ideal for info and opinions, now its just a slaaging match.anyways, appreciate all people who give usefull and sensible opinions, cant wait for this liitle beauty!!!!!!!!!\m/

Sqwushi, I think you will need to get a different phone instead of K850 for now. Its not just a couple of weeks you'll have to wait but a couple of months.

in the day, N73 pics look like the same as K800..not much differences (there are ups and downs for each phone which I'm lazy to explain now). In my opinion, N73's image quality is also close to N95. Like I said before.. N95 advantage is the larger pixels..
sorry to have driven a bit off topic.

Refering to what Jasom said, "the ONLY thing that this phone has that even comes close to the N95 is the camera, which will ROCK! " Well don't now if he remembers but Nokia's Camera's never been their strong side. When i had my Sony Ericcson W810i, it made way better pictures then the N70, N73 etc! Even though the N73 supposed to have a 3.0 Megapixel Cam! Not even mensioning the durability of the Battery! And all my friends with Nokia's the moment they upload songs to their Cell, instantly starts to work Really Slow!!! I Could go on like this, but my work here is done!

So there I was... My old SE K700 finally stopped beeping... poor guy.. So I started looking for a new phone.. huh.. And the only good option was the new Nokia N95.. I really dislike Nokia phones... but what could I do... there was no sign of a good SE... I've only seen some pics of the new K850 but nothing concrete.. and because I cant live without a mobile phone I had to do something.. and so I was planning to buy Nokia N95 (yes its tragic and sad as well).. BuT! But now that i've seen that the K850 is out... no way... i rather be without a phone for a cuple more weeks...=) halleluj for K850!SE batterys are better, the software was always better that the one from nokia and its faster and oh and ah, and the 5M camera.. its like a dream come true... but i just dont know why they made it in black and green combo.. black and blue for me pls, thank you=)

to tkb4.....you said k800i is almost better in cam quality than n95.....did u know that n73 images look better than k800i in the day but at night k800i look better....and n95 camera qaulity looks way better than n73 at day and at night so k800i cannot look ALMOST better than n95..it can almost look good at night but the qaulity at daylight is only comparable to n73

FOR THOSE WHO ARE COMPARING SE and NOKIA HERE IS MY OPINION
I was a nokia fan until NOW.
... I've been using nokia phones for quite some time now (I have n73 now) and all I can say is troubles, troubles, troubles. I have my phone in repair and bought it just 3 months ago. I have heard that so do many others complain about its software and other stuff. Camera is crap!!! Many problems with its PC connection (compatibility) and must be very carefull when updating software or it will just go D.E.A.D. on you. Where is all the EASY TO USE!!! Everything about this phone is slow as hell so that for me is a big SUCK ON THIS! thing!!!! Nokia (n73 and possibly all nokia phones with operating system)are for me the slowest phones ever and so their functionality is quickly lost.
WHO WANTS A SLOW GSM ANYWAY???
How many of you realy does use ALL and I mean ALL of its functions???... dont need them, dont want them, dont CARE!
SO FOR THOSE WHO ARE SO PLEASED WITH THEIR NOKIA PHONES ....
MAYBE WE DONT NEED ALL THIS SH!T THAT NOKIA HAS AND THEREFORE IS SO SLOW BECOUSE OF IT.
ALL I want (AND many many many others)is an EASY TO USE phone with good camera, a lot of memory, internet, music and video compatibility, and most of all QUICKNESS!!!
I hope NOKIA will make something like that soon or bye bye NOKIA... I'll be going for other phones like SE! and just like k850 or similar.
SO there it is my humble oppinion

At last... SE have finally done it.

mZxf, at least you acknowledge..
and yeah, N95 is not in the same class as K850..N95 is a smartphone but most people don't need a smartphone and need a mobile phone just to talk (they use a PC for the rest).
in term of specs the N95 beat the K850 but in term of useability (example: not worrying about battery life while listening to music and watching video, not worrying about hangs and other bugs, smooth and quick access to phone funtions with fast interface) is maybe one of the advantage of K850 over N95.
my old N80 before was a very good phone but it sort of feel like I'm suffocating using it.
and about the K800 camera comparing with N95..well, if you compare the pictures..N95 should look better but that's just because of the pixels..try reading reviews from several websites or compare it yourself..overall, N95 can produce better looking photos than K800 but for a 3.2MP cam, K800 can almost beat the N95 cam. Some of those camera aspects that K800 beat it are the camera software, the colour, the speed, the buttons and etc..
and its a good thing that SE separate the GPS receiver from the phone because most people won't be needing it.
Its really your own choice of which phone you like best, whether it is Nokia or SE or other brands. There is really no need to fight over which phone is better.
and the announcement of the K850 and other SE phones should be good news for Nokia fans. That means competitive level is higher which can cause more better phones to come out later and more price drop.
If I were a Nokia fan, I would like SE to release a killer phone then later a better phone by Nokia might be announced or price drops can happen.
to vpY}, K850 records video in QVGA @ 30fps and it does have HSDPA.

Let me tell something. Never compare K850i with N95. N95 is a different multimedia phone that delivers technology and other great features. K850i is a Cybershot man........ It focuses on Music, user friendliness, Camera,SE Technology at its best and loads of features.
And ofcourse they create such handsets for their SE Fans.
So dont criticise their hardwork by comparing it with N95.

and i cant beleive ppl are so proud of their walkman 3.0 program and the sound is amazing.....n73, n95 are the loudest phones...they are loud and clear....my friend got v630 and its louder than k800i...but it aint louder or clearer than n73 or n95....k850i will not be even louder through headphone considering it doesnt have a 3.5mm headjack....so am sorry but the sound will not be better than n95
