Well, I don't know exactly what do you want to update but this migh be help:
1. If you mean you want to updates android system you can use pc companion
2. If you want update the software I must say Sony still doesn't give update for their 2011 Xperia(and maybe their never was)
3. If you really want to update the app like walkman,and other app that come from factory my best suggestion is MOD it

Hey bro Sony lover freaky, I successfully install the fluroscent feather just like u said, and.......WOW it's REALLY REALLY AWESOME ,this is just like what I looking for, The sounds from the phone goes more loud (we can increase the volume up to 30 times :D), more clarity image and video( BRAVIA ENGINE 2 ROCKS!!!) and more feature that I can't say because to many :) all I want say to you is THANK YOU VERY MUCH for helping me find this Rom, but I still want ask you 1 question, U don't mind to answer it don't you :)...
How to enter the cwm recovery mode after installing this rom???

AnonD-212180, 13 Dec 2013Aren't install another launcher in this phone will be cause... moreHey Theo D i just bought this phone 1 week ago and ive just mod it like a boss haha.i have the answer for your question first you need to root you phone.second,install cwm recovery,third install custom rom via cwm recovery i suggest the best rom for this phone (fluroscent feather) just google it on xda..i currently use this rom it has xperia z lockscreen like what you want swipe up and down and left slide for cam and right for music..it also has xperia v walkman player and the performance is excellent and aarrgg just discover yourself and i gurranty you will happy..btw mine is stock kernel and lockbootloader...Merry christmas If you celebrate it.any question ??ask here..

Coz I once install go launcher and my phone goes very laggy, all i wanna do is just change the unlock screen so it will be exactly like Xperia tx, is that possible without install any launcher?

U know in xperia tx (maybe there's also in 2012 xperia) when we want to unlock the screen we can swipe up or down to unlock the screen, swipe to left for shortcut to camera and swipe to right for shortcut to WALKMAN
And My questions... is there a way to do that in these phone??
Aren't this phone will be cool if there's an option to do that

Oh now i know why my brother said sound reduce after rooting, it's actually not reduce after rooting, it's because i used xperia v walkman mod on my phone after rooting, how sad..... :(
But look at the bright side the walkman function is really superb especially if you used headset because there's an option to manually set equalizer and clear bass and also there's more feature like sensme,visualizer and many more... Now this is what I call walkman phone, no smartwalkman phone :)
