all these times since walkmans were born. people get confused that walkmans are relatively only better when it comes to sound quality. no it's not... all SE have really good sound quality, just the presence of the excellent MusicPlayer and MegaBass is the only advantage of the walkmans, but basically it's just all software-enhancements from the non-walkmans and is same with non-walkmans. if only the walkmans have sound chips or DSPs then that will be another story, because it's the hardware that enhances sound quality. if you won't mind N91 has better sound quality than those walkmans because of the soundchips. even computers and IPOD have soundchips and that is alot better than a software enhanced sound quality one. this is just marketing gimmick guys to be able to improve the sales worlwide, but we can't blame them for they need it to attract consumers and we are those they needs.
regarding the M600 sound quality, it's not that loud but the clarity is crystal clear. as expected to all SE phones due to the presence of Sony technology. and it doesn't really differ from W950 except from the excellent walkman player and megabass. because they share same hardware and form factor except the keypad layout.

I think Sony Ericsson has come of age with the kind of phones they are offering to customers. M600i is one of the best smartphones out there. If you are one of those " I want it all and I want it Now " type, this is the phone for you.

I don't think you can set clock screen saver. Phone is saving wiht power so screen is turned off in idle mode. Beside it's not hard to press ANY key on the pohone in order to get clock up, or is it?

"Just got the phone, it works amazing, upgraded the firmware right away. The texting is amazing, picture viewer and video viewer is amazing as well. The handset just worked even faster after the upgrade. The only thing i noticed was when i watch a video on my phone, when i dont use my phone, usually the screen dims out and goes black to save power, however after watching a video the screen does not dim out, and when i lock the phone it dims then the notification to unlock my phone comes on, and it stays like that, i have to turn off my phone and then turn it back on. anybody experiencing that problem and if so what did u do to fix it????"
that's just normal as all SE phones sport that behaviour. it only dims out the screen to save power in order that the phone battery may last up to few days of use. you can turn it off if that annoys you.

Nokia loves makin people fool, and an n73 is he proper exampleof this, such piece of garbage. For years I ve been lookin for great RAM ROM combined devices, later found UIQ is way more better than series 60. Now thinkin of either havin a p700 or a m600-camera is not my main focus.Lets see what happens with dual led! m600 works way faster than p990!
kenny rocks!

honestly all SE's that i have used were excellent in sound rendering. the main issue was that the sound volume is not that loud in which many people comments that the sound quality sucks. in my own experiences loudness doesn't give better sound quality that much. especially when a cellphone speaker is concerned. phone speakers are made with more treble boosting algorithm rather than bass. bass speaker in a mobile phone is just neglectable as the phone isn't big enough to fit with an excellent bass speaker( the reason why you will notice that a tweeter is alot smaller than a bass speaker and why in a 2.1 or 5.1 speaker system the bass speaker is the largest)
sometimes i just end up laughing out to those who say that SE speakers are worse than nokia's or motos while in both two i can hardly hear crystal clear sound like the one SE is offering. and don't be fooled with the stereo 3D speakers as it isn't effective too much for a mobile phone. in order to have 3D sorround one a speaker must be distant enough to the listener to hear the 3D rendering, not the so-closed twin speaker used in mobile phones. and the small speakers used in mobile phones proved that the "3D gimmick" is for sound amplification only. that's just a marketing gimmick imho.
i used N70 and it is louder than the W810 which i am using now, but the details is much heard in the W810, hope you get my point with that and i agree SE always comes excellent because of the so called "it's a sony" and "like no other"

kenny,
I am just very much happy and glad to be clarified about the issues, thank y very much.
Hey, altho' it is not a music oriented phone, but I know SE naturally [because of Sony!] makes all the mainstream W series and UIQ based phones [except for w950, it is GOD] with very good/better sound quality.
I heard m600/p990's music thru headsets is comparable to the W series.
What do y think bout it?
Please, thanks again for such vivid details. ^_^
