koRngear:
M600 has more RAM capacity than P990 when in operation and with the R9 and R5/R6 organizer firmware versions in which the P990 worked well with handling RAM with the applications very well. and the speed is faster than before. thanks to the option where you can turn off transition effects in the menu. this is where most UIQ 3 phones struggles most as the graphics require more memory than the non-transitional one, SE's UIQ 3 smartphones have 3D hardware accelerator, though there was no in-built memory on the chip so it will eat the RAM memory in which where certain OS applications rely on. and as a result,as the phone losses RAM memory and the phone will freeze, hang and crash and the worst scenario is that it will restart with the annoying message that phone must be restarted to increase/recover memory. but with the newest firmware version the main issue with RAM was remedied and the applications work and run faster without the annoying rstarts and freezes. as of the M600 and W950, which both uses lesser RAM memory than the more powerful P990, the RAM problem will be much less than the P990 and you will notice better performance as the phone has fewer features than the latter.
in other words the main problem is already solved and the future upgrades will enable more improvements over the RAM management issues with the UIQ phones. and hopefully all other issues too.
anyway, P700- the rumored and confirmed successor(maybe) of M600 sports 160Mb RAM in which it clearly states that RAM issues have been the main focus of the SE UIQ team developers over the recent developments. we could see more UIQ 3 phones from SE which will perform alot better than the past ones. but if i could only suggest something maybe SE should also imbeed it's 3D graphics chip with it's own RAM(just like PC videocards) for better transition effects rendering without affecting the system's performance. and at least 350-400Mhz ARM processor for multitasking.

Hi there, specially kenny or others experienced, how is this phone's RAM goin on, what is the amount that is left to use for? Heavy applications like smartmovie-does it stumbles or breaks time to time to play video files, the audio quality through headsets -is it worthy to compare with other [except w950] walkman phones?
Please clarify me.

digital khwab,
actually the only main problem of M600 is the memory management. with this, it could cause frequent system restarts, crashes and slow progress times. i suggest to upgrade to the latest firmware which could turn off the transition effects on the menu(the animations on the menu) in which if done, can save much more RAM than the usual... touchscreen, battery, and build quality is OK. the keypad just needs to get used to.

close the applications the right way using the task manager (up on the right corner of the screen) also, obviously it can not make a video call or recieve one because there is no camera on either end.

I have had moer problems with this phone. I've had software reloaded twice then replaced and the replacement phone is now in the shop. It constantly freezes on me and drops the call. It also goes into "never never land" and people can't reach me and I have no idea. This is the worst phone I've ever used.

hi,, i got one doubt.. when i press 'BACK' button to close a application, its still running in background... whether these application will drain the battery while its running in background or only RAM is wasted???
---> No it doesn't waste battery because the even it's in background its in IDLE mode so the application won't eat juice from your battery. only the RAM is wasted. but anyway use your task manager to close the idle application so it won't waste RAM and make your phone restarts.

No offence Enka but if you really need a camera in your phone why do you even consider checking out this phone... The Specs clearly state that there's no camera in this phone...
Besides wat exactly do you use a phone cam for??? unless its over 2MP the cam really doesn't give you good results... As far as I know most ppl love to have cams embeded in their phones for the purpose of capturing those 'rite and rare moments'... Ironically as the cams get better quality wise the loading speed decreases... Hence you end up missing most of those special moments anyway...
But if you still insist on having a cam on your phone... Go for the Nokia N95/N93i or the SE K800i/K810i... If you need a PDA the SE P990's apparently pretty amazing...

Ah this phone is really good, great functions, easy layout. the only thing that makes this not worth as much is the lack of the camera... thats what put me off it >__

nope, nothing since SE was established. Flash memory is the safest form of storage that was currently used by every s worldwide.
