i just hope that the OS, processor and RAM management has improved alot from the previous. SE shouldn't waste money for the production if this phone will do no good. =)

Had this phone for a week now and like the phone allot.
Battery seems to be quite good. Recharged first time after 4 days. Connected thrugh 3g-network and bluetouth the entire time. But during this time I only made 5 calls though. But I also played around allot with the phone during this time...battery should last a week at least with normal use.
Love Symbian OS. Installed Opera (browser) and Gooogle Maps yesterday. Excellent!
I recommend this phone!

Hi guys! I am looking into buying one white M600 :D, but I keep thinking about the upcoming M610 with a 3.2mp camera, wifi support and 3G call. I do no know what to do:
wait and see the price of the new M610, by then M600 will surely drop the price even lower ( my guess ).
Still waiting for an answer from anyone that uused the phone with a 4GB card :)

There's a new update on the SE update service that has sorted out virtually ALL the issues with this phone. This particular update transforms the phone completely, and when I typed "Completely", I meant COMPLETELY! The speed of the menu after the update is phenomenal. Even the start-up is changed by the update. By far, this is the best update for this phone. Why? The difference is more than crystal clear.
My only problem with SonyEricsson is that they don't announce the availability of updates. One has to constantly keep checking, to find out if they're there.
Take my word all ye people with the M600i. Go ye straight to the SE website and update thy phones ASAP!

If you look for a dedicated walkman then W950 is better (see all W series sony phones can be switched to walkman mode to just use as walkman). The following link shows the comparision and tells M600i to be 1 percent better than W950i
http://www.phonegg.com/compare/1/Sony-Ericsson-M600-vs-Sony-Ericsson-W950.html
>
>1. does m600i support album art function like what >the w950i have when listening to mp3s?
The following review tells M600i supports Album art
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/reviews/item/Sony_Ericsson_M600i.php
>2. can i use a san disk 2 gb Memory Stick Micro™ >(M2™) on this phone? because as far as i have >researched, this phone only supports upto 1GB of >Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) - which is a Sony Brand. >I'm just not sure though if Sony also offers 2 GB >of Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™).
The following link which is from sonyericsson itself tells u can use upto 4GB M2 card in M600i
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/products/phonegallery/m600/p_m600.jsp
My Opinion
M600i positives
M600i is less costly than W950i
M600i has an external memory slot and u can switch multiple cards (W950i is costlier than M600i because it has inbuilt fixed 4GB which u cant remove or add, if it is gone it is gone for ever, but M600i u r under control of external memory)
M600i keyboard is querty whereas W950i keypad just looks like any other phone. Initially I struggled with M600i keypad, but now i cant live without it
W950i positives
Is a dedicated walkman phone
Hope u can come to a conclusion

i am undecided as to what to buy, i'm confused between w950i or m600i... can someone help me out by answering some questions...
1. does m600i support album art function like what the w950i have when listening to mp3s?
2. can i use a san disk 2 gb Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) on this phone? because as far as i have researched, this phone only supports upto 1GB of Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) - which is a Sony Brand. I'm just not sure though if Sony also offers 2 GB of Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™).
i hope someone can help me with my questions...
thanks in advance!

What carrier is everyone using this phone on? TMobile, Cingular, etc? Any pitfalls seen, I am concerned about the lack of the 850 band on this phone. Also, how is the ability to read MS docs and PDFs?

First download and run firmware executable. It will download the latest version of the executable which is around 23 Mega Bytes.
This step takes around half an hour.
After doing this follow the steps in update service.
This step took an hour to update my phone and I am having 256 Kbps connection
Note: The "C" key mentioned is the alphabet "C" of M600i keyboard
