This is the greatest phone I have ever had - and I usually only get Sony Ericsons - they are the best. Google Maps can also be downloaded on this one and then you don't even need the GPS that comes with it - it's a great phone. The quality of the sound is very clear, and photo's taken with it - also good - except if you zoom in quite a lot. Just remember to buy a screen protector before your screen get's totally scribbled over. The stylist can get some work on - a bit flimsy - but that's the only problem I can find in the last 5months I had it.

i personally have an n95 before but was frustrated because of the battery life and its qualiy built..and i was bored..i mean i wan to learn sumthin new..and this is where my p1i came in,and sold my n95 due to the fact that i was satisfied with my p1i beside me..yes i lost a digi cam phone, but 3.2 mp of the p1i is almost nearly the same with p1i,ive lost the tv out and the 3.5m jack..but then in p1i i gain the touchscreen, usb charging(which is very handy coz i usually play online game everytime) but then its after 3 days that it will be lowbat by that time i charge it,heheh..well im not too lazy to carry an adaptor so i stil have 3.5m jack hahah..its not bulky, has a rare design, has good quality and sounds, and of course the big battery with long life..ii had a small scrath when i put my phone in my pocket where there were some coins..damit..i guess p1i has a senstive skin..hahah..overall,its one of the best..with a reasonable price..a work of art, cant wait for its next successor though..hehehe

just my 2 cents... i bought a p1i a few months back and i can honestly say everything said about it that i spositive is true. this is my personal assesment after about 3 months of usage erfect battery life, touchscreen very responsive, love the keyboard, i can go on and on. there was one and only one problem and that was that it is tri band sometimes ud look to check the time and realise u have no reception but that was only in basements nd also garages. i had dropped it a few times and therefor teh screen ended up being non responsive and basically had a mind of its own so therefor id sold i due to frustration. that was back about 3 months ago i sold it and was now cotemplating buying the n95 8gb for my new phoen and after alot of reasearch and price comparisons i realized that i MUST return to my former love and purchase another p1i onli bc it was teh only phoen i could rely on best phone on the market for value. hope this helps anyone with their dilemmas oh n by the way se has the best customer service

Wel I just got my P1i a week ago and put it thru a strenuous test with all apps open as i could and had no problems with it this also sank the last bit of nokia in my familly after N95 after 2 months old just crashed and after a reboot failed to reboot . That is one thing nokia must stil learn is to make a stable os before they bring out a phone . Oh and yes a am writing this all on my P1i .
When I compared p1i with nokia I must say Se P1i feels solid and not like over priced piece of flimsy plastic with a screen with a brand name on it , Se P1i is the Porshé of the smartphones and in its own class at the top all alone. Excellent Se as we all came to know over the years that Se leads and the rest follows..

Hey,me one of p1i lover com user, i just compare p1i wit user friendly nokia, u just notice in nokia higher end models battery back up, the first point long lasts in nokia, after first point lasts automatically baterry drains in 3hrs, where as in p1i it shows u perfect battery indications, just i used my phone in headphones lisening for 3hrs of music in 5% battery this is enough u to tell about battery life

And t9 mode is very good with handwriting recognition,

Sound output is loveable in walkman 3 as in w960i.

i agree with everything Welshsteve have said regarding the advantage of P1i over iPhone.

But I would just like to point out that the touch interface of iPhone is really good, it is loaded with animations and very user friendly. This is the advantage of iphone over P1i.

too bad that it fails in the other phone functions, theres even NO third party applications available for iPhone! so whatever application you have when you buy the iphone, you are stuck with it for good!

rimzz, 17 Jul 2008hey @89 .. can you actually explain as to how you can delet... moreyou should really learn to explore your P1i

                            to delete calls:
press calls, when the list of calls are displayed, switch to extend mode by pressing "more" then choose the "extended mode".
After that, you can now delete any call list by pressing back or clicking "more" then "edit" then delete by date or to delete all entries

Satish, 13 Jul 2008Hi , this is satish ... i also wanted to buy this phone , b... moreHi Satish!
                              "iPhone or Pi?"

                              My answer, Pi just about.

MUCH better Camera with video record
Bluetooth AD2P (for stereo bluetooth head set)
                              File sharing via bluetooth
Normal text support (forwarding texts, MMS both NOT on iPhone)
                              Better battery life
Physical buttons that despite people complaining about the rolling factor (one key for both Q and W etc) I found it very easy to type with. Touch screen is not as good as iphone (no multi touch) but very good and very usable!
Good media player with Radio with (with RDS I assume!?)

But the iPhone has an edge with the UI and iPod features. iPhone now has HSDPA which is a lot faster than P1 UMTS. But if you are talking about mobile formatted webpages, it's no biggy! To take advantage of HSDPA you have to have an unlimited Data plan as it will cost you a lot if not. iphone's phone functions are not as good as P1, but the media side is not really better, just more user friendly. I mean, you can do the same things but just slightly less conveniently.

                              Hope I helped.

You asked about IM programs for the PIi? I am assuming you mean MSN/Yahoo/Googletalk/ICq etc?
There's few around but the one I use as a complete solution to IM on a mobile is Morange. It's a Java program so it will be small in size and will run great on a PI, it's does all IM protocols and is FREE!
But more than that, it's does VOIP calls/texts (fees apply) push email, RSS feeds, Chat Rooms, Remote desktop and remote file storage. Pretty impressive for a free app eh?

Hi JV... I had almost 7 days with my New P1, the mobile is awesome, everyday I discover new features on the mobile.... The voice Quality is much better than my old phone SE W810 because the earpiece is bigger than the w810.... The Only thing that i miss from my old phone are the Walkman Keys to manage the song that im listening without tap the screen.... Furthermore, you can use the phone as a Ad Hoc with bluetooth devices, its means that if you are connected to the WiFi Network you may be able to connect another phone to the internet via your P1 because the p1 works as a router....

One thing i dont like about P1 is that if the Wi Fi Signal is not excelent, you may have Connections problems trying to navigate on the web.

And yes, the P1 have T9 or predictive text and i think that the keypad is a good tool to edit your Messages in a short time....

Trust me, the P1 is one of the best phones of Sony Ericsson, I dont Regret of buy a p1
