Horrible phone! Batery doesn't survive more than one day. Key-lock and energy saving settings are disastrous, reacting unpredictable under various circumstances.

Many aspects of the interface are unlogical and clumpsy. The e-mail app in particular is a monster! Hope to find a replacement for that.

Network reception is bad, at just 1/4th of the quality my Sonyericsson 750i had at the same locations! Voice quality indoors is dramatic.

Finally: it crashes continuously! Forcing battery wipes. Combined with the problematic battery consumption: my phone is more often off than on!

    So: skip this Sonyericsson model!

I see that average people appreciates the P1i but has there already been reported bugs? Any disadvantages about this particular model?

Hi, just purchased my P1 3 days ago and have a question. My phone's dictionary is in chinese and when I turn on the handwriting recognition it only appears chinese characters. Does this mean I got the China version? I thought the China version says P1c but on my phone it says P1i. Somebody please help, is there a software update that chould change all this or any other solution?

                Hi shayn! :)

first of all regarding your query about P1, the phone can take as much as 4Gb of M2 cards with no terrible lags due to the larger system cache brought by the very large RAM the phone possess. even 8Gb M2s will work as well but i dont think there's one available atm.

                #Q:
or is it worth waiting for P5i?

#A: yes and no, yes because better Qualcomm CPU, same large amount of RAM,Symbian 9.5 OS and UIQ 4 TS that has iPhonish style was all inside P5, add to that the rumored Xperia brand name which complements Feature Boost of any phone who hold the trademark.

No because the Phone has not been announced yet, so waiting may make you tired and impatient. however there's still a powerful P1 for an alternative :)

                #Q:
                - How loud is the Speaker compared to N91, N73, N95?

                - Is the earphones and sound quality louder than Nokia N95,N80, N73, N81?

                #A:

-average, loud enough for everyday use, dont expect HiFi sound from a phone anyway :P

-as i said it's loud enough, the sound quality is better than any non-OS walkmans around that's because the Nexperia CPU chip inside P1 has a dedicated sound processor(yep DSP indeed), video chip(MBX lite) and applications chip in one architecture. but don't dare to compare it with N95's TI-OMAP DSP-in-a-chip cause the former has been quite for some time now, meaning the newer TI-OMAP 2420 DSP renders much louder sound than P1. in short newer chips are better and more developed. although N81 beats them both with it's separate audio chip.

hope this helps even a bit :)

                @babak:

as we always says it depends on what you need, either a better sound quality, Faster CPU and WiFi or a Better AF Camera, Touchscreen, more RAM and a dedicated graphics Chip(N81 doesn't have a dedicated grahpics chip(even a lite version like in P1) instead it relies all the graphics acceleration on the application processor: the CPU itself)

Hi, I'm a P1i user.. Yeah, it feels great with the applications on it.. Qwerty at first seems awkward, but after a month its so easy to use. Camera features has a slow start, but quality (capture) is great.. And the music, you can transfer from cd to phone so easy.. And what i love most of this phone, is using the office applications.. and i can draw on it whatever i want (save and send it!)... and not to forget, the WLAN is good too!.. It's a all-in-one phone!

                      To P1i users:

I need your help big time please. I dont wanna make a mistake if some features are not available in the P1i, and i made a big mistake getting the N95 6 months ago.

Basically can P1i users help with the following:
                      - Can you transfer this music file to your phone, Taio Cruz - Moving On.aac , its in aacPlus (v2.0) @ 32Bits/Parametric Stereo/44100Hz and I want to knw if the quality via speaker is loud and earphone is in Stereo Quality coz some phones support aacPlus but dont give Stereo Effects instead Mono.
                      Link to aacPlus file is:

                            Hi all
I want to buy this phone, but I'm not sure if my T-Zone Internet plan will work on it(USA) because it doesn't have EDGE connection.

                            Somebody has a answer?
opris_gabriel@yahoo.de mail me if you know.

I asked this question first on N82 forum, but thought it's good to ask it here, too:

Which one is better N82 or P1?

I know that each of these phones has some unique features. For example N82 has a 5 m.p. cam, and P1 has touchscreen. But the most important thing to me is Stability. Which one is more stable and fast? Another important factor is ability to opening and reading documents (Word & PDF) which one of these two phones is efficient at it?

And the last thing is the matter of battery. I know P1 has a better one. But does it really matter? And is it really a nuisance to have a 1050 mAh on N82, does it need to be recharged more often (because I used to read books on my phone, and I'm afraid that inadequate battery would make some trouble for me)

Oh, one more thing. I know N82 is more expensive but it doesn’t matter to me!

                                      Please help me very soon

                                      Thanks
