    hi Klint,
could i ask you a question about the P1? does it have the FIND CONTACT function found in the P990? the function that allows the user to find a name on the contact list by using a word or detail found in the notes?

this is quite important for me since i cant always remember the names of all the people or companies in my contact list. so with my P990, i just make sure to put in various keywords, which i then use when i have to find a contact.

    thanks.

      Klint,
cool name! Thats cheered me up :)

lookin forward to your next comment; I'm interested in web browsing over wi fi. It's getting slow and unreliable on my Nokia E70. Hope it's better on the P1i?

Klint Eastwood here! I have the ability to access my email accounts and have no problem doing so. I havent had the opportunity to see if web pages can be viewed horizontal but will check and post my results on here.

I can only reiterate how well built the handset is, SE have managed to combine business with pleasure its a versatile piece of technology.

Any questions please feel free, Make My Day!

i am quite disappointed with the SE P1 which was promoted as the most evolved version of the P series. after checking out a unit, i think the P1 is more like a an upgraded version of the M600, and not exactly designed for the business person. i am still of the opinion that my good old P 910i is a better business phone. this means i will just have to wait for Sony Ericsson to come up with a better phone or perhaps look elsewhere.

            so

Klint Eastwood (by the way I love your films: "In the line of duty" is one of my all time favourites). What about screen orientation? Can we view web pages in landscape mode?? Is the WLAN fast enough even though it's only the "b" variety?? I suppose only thumb typing will be the only fast way for text entry.

P1 at 29k pesos here in the Philippines is approximately equivalent to about 311 GBP in UK and about 644 USD in USA currency...

WOW, it is great SE P1, keep up the good work. It is stable, small, fantastic and smart. Unlike e90, bulky, heavy like block and full of bugs and cheap quality in finishing. Let all pray for P1 to be stable as MAC operating system.

Yes thats right Eastwood, but with a K. Easy to type quick on the QWERTY, camera is very good, great menu layout, simple yet professional. Quick despite having the symbian OS which has been criticised. Like i said amazing, any other questions dont hesitate...punk!

To those who are planning in buying this phone in the Philippines, the price at Greenhills is between 28-29K pesos.

I've placed an order for P1i with O2, and today they're saying 'it's out of stock'. This wait is really bugging me now, because I've had some good feedback about it. It looks pretty good on GSMarena too.

And yeah I wanted to know if the keypad is really awkward? and the lack of navigation stick causes trouble?

My understanding is that P1 is already a successor of P990i. According to the review, SE is probably not to release, e.g. P1000 which is too many zeros, so they omitted the 3 zeros and this is now the P1. It was frustrating because the screen size is only 2.6" while P990i is 2.8". SE should make the next Pxx screen size to 3" or 3.5" with 16M colors. I'm a big fan of P-series (from P800, P900, P910 and currently using P990i for almost a year now).
