Good hardware but stupid keypad, why don't just make keypad like W960 with P1 spec....????

you're really serious huh? not to mention SE have two platforms up to date UIQ and A100(to be replaced by A200 in 2008) and you are going ditch all SEs just because they have left the P990 software update?

Last month I mentioned that this is a great phone....i take it all back. SE has abruptly stopped the development of the firmware for P990i/M600/W950. The P1 also uses the same OS as the other stated model & famous of its instability or incompatibility with the phone. It seems SE solution to get rid of the problem is to run away from it. It's sad to say as a SE fan, I'm truly disappointed; betrayed would be a better word, with their decision. Until they revert their decision to improve their firmware, I will not buy any SE products for good.

a bluetooth keyboard should definitely be more useful for the device. And price is what matters most.

The biggest mistake of SE was their reserch and development on the P990 whereas everything is very new, UIQ 3 at that time is so new to SE and SE don't have experience dealing with symbian OS versions higher than their old P910's OS: the 7.0 SE have no accurate idea how much will be the hardware requirements of the UIQ 3 together with the improved camera, inclusion of WiFi and so much more. that's why they missed the very important aspect of being a powerful smartphone.: the high Memory capacity and management. but later on SE's update services tried it's best to fix all the common bugs of the pre-production P990 until one remaining major problem is left unsolved: the poor memory management due to the small RAM capacity of the phone. that's why P1 and W960 had arrived to correct it. although i also hope for a better system consistency(for lower memory consumption) and more bug fixes(like fixing the alarm volume bug) as this phone will be released soon. SE should take their time developing this phone so that buyers won't face terrible problems encountered with the previous P990 and totally brainwashed them not to buy SE UIQ phones. but i'm pretty sure this phone will make the leap towards the high-end smartphone market. even though it's not as featurepacked as other models of other brands, they will surely give consumers quality rather than quantity:)

I currently have a P990, greatest phone ever...battery last forever, no bugs, excellent symbian phone, i use it to listen to music everyday in my car with the MBR-100 bluetooth receiver...And for sure as soon as the P1 comes out i'm getting it...same as p990 but in a smaller package and better camera...plus other updates...SE RuLeS!!!

This phone will perfectly suit me. It will be a great business phone for me. Even tough the w960 is business+music phone, I don't really need the music features no more since I have an ipod video (soon to be upgraded to microsoft zune for its features). I also want this phone because I need the card slot to insert in other devices such as a digital camera, unlike the w960 that does not have any card slot. This is the ideal phone for now. Next year, I will be aiming on the w990 which I believe will be the "iphone killer". Hope there will be just a business version of it.

Excelent, love this phone, well like my fellas, I'm confused, couse I love the w960 too, well I think I might just take some time to think about it. Hey buddy I agree 16m display should be taken in notice.

yeah to the people who praises Nokia specially N95 and n73 phones..Yeah nokia is putting everything in one phone such as N95 it has everything that other previous model have but the things is.... THE PHONE ITSELF GIVES UP... that's why they always hang, and before you can even open the inbox or send message you have to wait for about 1 minute and battery easily drain.. GO SE =) lve all your phones. YEah right they have everything all in one package but when you use it IT SUCKS.

best way is to get the p1 and throw in a 4gb m2 card for £40! spec by spec the p1 should be better than the w960 and more cheaper in overall terms.

Well im sure that P1 will be soon the best in mobile phones, just wait.
There is only one important thing and thats price of it, if the price takes good and if it be a normal price im sure that P1 will take the position that it have to.

I have the m600i, the call and end keys aswell plethora of call options (such as confrencing, and other options) are avialable via software touchscreen. Indeed you can type well on the concave keyboard; really easy to pick up too. I'll be picking this phonw up ASAP.

For all thouse who are undecided between w960 and P1 witch i am also... let me give you a litle tip: Whether you like gooooood quality sound or realy gooood business phone, that is the question.: w960 is BETTER for sound quality and ofcourse lots of memory and P1 has the best Business stuff you need. So my choice will be ........... P1.+ is has a better battery life time.

Dudes... for all thouse who haven't had an Sony Ericsson phone before or ever in theyr lives PLEASE DO NOT TALK BAD ABOUT THIS PHONE because you don't know anything about it.
You just say that because you use to have Nokia or other crapy phones. THURST ME this phone will be a BEST SELLER of SE phones.
SO don't talk until you know what you realy are talking about.

Why doesn't this phone have dedicated "call" and "end" keys? Can one truly thumb type at speed with this "shared" QWERTY keyboard?
