There is a ruomer about P3i
there is no front camera , only 3.2MP behind
but the best thing it is the first HSDPA/EDGE smart phone from SE ! Just like the Z750i

same option p990 is better then this desing of p1 is not good ugly no lense cover and no shot keybord like p990. p990 is more userfriendly then p1 but its good

The Sony Ericsson P1 bears the design line of the already available Sony Ericsson M600. The same form factor but without a QWERTY keyboard was used in the music-oriented Sony Ericsson W950, too.

p1 3.2 mega pix= nokia 95 5 mega pix (should be even if i didnt try p1)
there is no doubt that the screen resolution would be more than nokia..
and sound quality ..not comparable with nokia..

American networks are even beaten by Japanese networks with their HSUPA and HSOPA networks working at a speed thrice/twice as fast as HSDPA 7.2mbps, now tell me why SE should care more on americans's EDGE other than asians's 3G which dominates technologial breakthroughs around the globe=D

It's because SE could hardly penetrate more on the America's benchmark of high-end communicator, blackberry than penetrating the european and asian regions.

Sony Ericsson's refusal to make phones with the 850 frequency for North America is bothersome. If you live in North America, why spend a substantial amount of money for a phone not optimized for your area?

to be more precise, i'm relating to the other brand fanatic's constant complains about the lack of features that this phone does. i just only wanted to imply that this page is for "user opinion" not for those who wants to complain about the lack of the HSDPA, 5mp cam or etc. you may post all your grievances at the comments page of the GSMArena news announcements and your Review comments on the P1 Review.

the P1 DOES have a full qwerty keyboard, its not like a sure-type blackberry. its called a butterfly keyboard because the left and right side of each button are raised higher than the center, sorta like a half-pipe. you just push farther to the side of the button for what letter you want. like the q and w button, if you want q, push down on the left side, and if you want w, push on the right side. also shift(the up arrow on the bottom left)+q for the ! and shift+w for the /.

disappointing!!!
the only difference for the p990 is the 3,15 mp cmera.
we need the sony ericsson mobile with:
gps
5.0 mp camera
finger print id
dual slide keyboard
tv out
design and manuscript as apple/iphone
much more memory
display with 16m colors

This is frankly gonna seriously tarnish Sony's reputation that 990i held.
And OMG ! I did not wait all these months just to see something this ugly!
Nokia and Samsung are making the competition bitting dust with their N95s and Ultra editions.
This Phone simply does not Deserve the Sony "P" Grandeour.
Wise people keep off !
