Blu-ray Disc has gained a large amount of support in the corporate world,[25] with companies such as Apple Inc., Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and Panasonic supporting it. Blu-ray Disc was first developed[26] by Sony Corporation in 2002 as a next generation data and video storage format alternative to DVD.
In a recent interview with GameSpot, when quizzed on the new LG HD DVD/Blu-ray combo players, Sir Howard Stringer CEO of Sony had this to say: "It's an expensive way of showing Universal discs. The three biggest box-office winners of this year were, in order: Sony, Disney, and Fox. Those are the three Blu-ray players. When you consider that those three successful studios will be delivering last year's successful box office in home video this year, then that's an enormous advantage. The fourth is Warner, and they release in both formats, so it doesn't hurt. If you are going to be buying discs, you are going to be buying an awful lot of Blu-ray discs going forward—if you want Pirates of the Caribbean or James Bond or Da Vinci Code or Spider-Man. Universal is the only one with HD DVD. I don't feel terribly intimidated."

IS IT OK FOR YOU ? Sony is everywhere. From Sony Pictures that produced Spiderman to Sony Music to Memory Stick. I guess you do not have enough knowledge of Memory Stick. Let me tell you :-
In a joint venture with SanDisk, Sony released a new Memory Stick format on February 6, 2006. The Memory Stick Micro (M2) measures 15 × 12.5 × 1.2 mm—roughly one-quarter the size of the Duo, around the size of a fingernail—with 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB and 2 GB capacities, with a theoretical limit of 32 GB. Maximum transfer speed is 160 Mbit/s. It comes with an adapter, much like the Duo Sticks, to ensure compatibility with current PRO devices.
I feel proud to use Sony and yes Memory Stick too because i am different.

The thing i hope the most is they get the firmware right this time, not like P990i and M600i when they were first released. At least the menu looks very fast on the video so far, much faster than even S60 in fact

Satya, we cannot prevent other phone fanboys to comment negative things about P1. But i think it has it's own dedicated fans and users that doesn't bothered with those things so the phone will speak on itself to them once it's released, note: SE developers team says: it's an improvement over the past UIQ 3 devices so whatever the problems found on P990 and M600 would not be an issue anymore with P1.

I agree with you. SE 3.2 camera (e.g. K800) is far better than the N95 5megapixel. Currently, I am using P990i and N95. When I compare photos taken from P990i and from N95 it's almost the same even on videos despite P990i has only 2Mpixel and 15fps video recording against N95 5Mpixel and 30fps video. My friend owned SE K800 3.2Mpixel camera and we compare the photos, K800 for me is better. So I believe those posts in N95 that it does not look like a 5Mpixel. Anyway, I am just enjoying my N95 but I am more happy with my P990i.

MISSIONARY:
Read the facts and don't pull numbers out of your a$$ just cuz you like this phone. Here's a story that took me 10 seconds to pull up with google: http://tech.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1295243.php/More_Blu-ray_vs._HD-DVD_performance_confusion
Here's a quote from it if you're too lazy:
"Raby also takes the opportunity to highlight the failures endured by Sony in recent years regarding ambitious formats such as Betamax, Super Audio CD, Minidisc, UMD, and others: “You can count the number [of formats] that turned out to be big successes by, well, doing absolutely nothing. The answer is zero.”
With Blu Ray, Sony will once again fail. If you get this phone, you'll be stuck using the Memory stick... which you can't almost use in anything else other then Sony products.

-Memory Stick Micro... haha.. the whole world is using SD or micro SD and here comes Sony with it's proprietary format. Like Blu-Ray, it will fail against HD-DVD... all my friends and my laptop has a SD slot built in... just imagine the hassle of using a memory stick... I can stick my SD card in almost any PC, download music, programs, videos, etc, then stick it in my phone (ROKR E6) to enjoy...
I know u can use a cable or Bluetooth too but imagine having to always bring a cable with you or setting up bluetooth... Thanks Sony for another retarded invention...
