      Hello guys, my P1i cannot start up... the screen is just initialising and it shuts off then initialising again... please help me on this thanks.

        Hi Guys,

        I am facing some issues with my P1i, the phone is not selecting any network and is constantly searching for network. It's on auto mode and I tried setting it manually...but could not fix it.

        Do let me know if anyone knows how to work this out.

          Folks,
          i would like to back up my messages folder (inbox) before i install the new update as it prompts me (after i scroll down) saying "CORRUPT File".

          Pls advise once installing is over i would still be able to retrieve my older messages.

            SONY_ERIC_FAN, 02 Jan 2010I have been using this model 4 almost 1 yr & decided 2 give... morelook man, all you need to do to play the other games you've installed is to press the ALT key twice and that will allow you to play like on any regular phone. Opera mobile is a better browser than Opera Mini 5 too. it even has ability to show plugins. It is a bit slow, but that is all because of the inadequate hardware. I wouldn't say this device is the best phone, no way. it has potential but there is a lot of room for improvements. It cannot be compared to the devices currently on the market today. Sony Ericsson should probably send out a new firmware update to fix the bugs of this phone. ie, the music player takes too long to start playing the selected tracks, there is no user friendliness in the video player either, office has a lot of potential too but can hardly be used because there should be additional keys like some sort of directional keys to make the experience a better one. The fact that this was/is from back in 2007, is understandable though but we the users of this phone are hampered by its inadequacies. It is a phone from 2007 yes, but so si the N82 even though that isn't a touch phone. This is certainly one of the better handsets by Sony Ericsson still, but they still shouldn't leave us in the cold like that. We deserve an updated firmware for this phone, it does not have to be something UIQ, just something to speed up this handset. That is my 2-bits.

              I had even brought a new one and need to sell it since i switched to blackberry-not for technical issues-

                Hi I bought my P1 almost a year ago...
                i haven;t been at alla satisfied. the internet browser is rubbish .. the interface is good but it crashes often... and on top of all in a year of careful handling the touch screen is out... it is a good phone but the constant crashes bugs and breakdowns are unbearable..

                      hi to all,
                      just want to share,since there's no brandnew p1i in the market, i bought satio u1i, used it for a month and sell it,u1i's camera was amazing,superb and incredible,but i am not satisfied even its good,i still want a p1i.

                      i know that there's no bnew p1i that se was selling so i tried to look for second hand,this is the 3rd time i bought this phone because the first couple of time was failure, it has defects since it was second hand,seller told me that they are just repaired it that's why it fails,i gave it back to them and they gave my money back,obcourse with less,it happenned to me twice.

                      NOW...
                      im so happy/lucky to found 1 unit of p1i,looks good and still looks brandnew, it was traded by the owner to samsung star,no offense to the previous owner but samsung star has no match to p1i.. lols..(but still im thankful you did that,haha.)

                      P1i is the best phone ever the se has made..even the battery life,it last 3 days to me even im using music player for about 3 to 4 hours a day,and take note im listening music thru my nokia blutooth headset (BH503)

                      P1i IS THE BEST PHONE EVER FROM SE.

                          Can you answer/reject/end a call without using the touchscreen?
                          I really prefer buttons for this and also as I read from the comments touchscreen does not work sometimes.Does this make the phone unusable when it happens?

                            Hello everyone, I've been using SE P1i for the last 16 months. The 1st thing i'm gonna mention about this fantastic phone is that it is durable. I've dropped it a number of times it still works like it did the moment I took it out of the box it came in. In terms of features there is nothing that I ever asked from this phone and it never delivered, see it's a Business/Entertainment mobile. If you have the P1i and you are not happy with it, then you're not really sure yourself what you actually want from it...

                                its a really great phone i used this one for 6 months good buld qlty ...............
                                now am using x1 it cracks a lot without falling the buld qlty is very poor x1 is faster n disply is really gr8

                                    Hi guys, this the best smartphone by sony ericsson ever.
                                    I m using P1i since 2years n 3 month(from oct 2007), there is not an incident that i have to take this phone to service center. I have done lots of moding on this phone such as icon changes, font changes, erasing operator logo etc. Pic quality is also nice. Most of all i like qwerty keypad which help me for easy n fast replies to sms/mms/emails. really a nice smart n classy phone.
