Hi All,
As for me i think this phone is the best ever, i had one before but it's broken now, i'm looking to buy a new one but i can't find anywhere in egypt. if anyone has a used or a new P1i and would like to sell, please ping me.

The sound volume of this unit isn't high enough. Some uses the sound MOD to tweak the volume. Here's my alternative.. You can buy an in-ear earphone to minimize the noise and get better quality (should buy an 3.5mm audio adaptor first). I prefer the iSecurefit in-ear earphone of A4tech (uses neodymium magnet - strongest magnet on earth). The bass is great even when using Normal equalizer. The quality is clear and loud enough.

I m using P1i since 20months, This phone WiFi speed is very low & The network selection also very weak.
Also Processing speed is very slow.
But look and Function wise is unique.

I am deciding if I should get the Samsung Star Wifi or the Sony Ericsson P1. I am just afraid since the P1 came out 2 years ago, maybe the speed is not as good the the new phones. And which websire can you find the best deal on the P1? The one I found cost $330 which is pretty expensive for a phone that came out 2 years ago I think. I am looking for something to put the appointments in, do you think the P1 provides a good scheduler or calendar?

well, I will not go and tell you that the Sony P1i is a perfect phone like some others here. What I will tell you though is that it is an ok phone. All those comments you hear about the keypad being a mind boggling experience, is just stupid. The keypad is just as easy to use as any other qwerty keypad on mobile phones. It is so simple, you see more than one icon on the buttons, which simply tells that all these buttons does more than one functions. For me, this keypad is very easy to use, even my 7 year old uses this keypad wonderfully (not as quick as me though, lol). So that should tell you something. Like someone else said before, the task manager should have at least had a bigger, more accessible icon or a dedicated button. The wifi could have been a bit better, though it is not much slower than that of the N95-8gb since I've compared them. This phone takes very good photos, afterall it is a 3 mp shooter and among the best out there. I have totally no problems with my phone being slow, there are a few hangs every now and then especially when downloading huge files via wifi (when the battery gets warm). Other than that, there are not much more to complain about. The touch interface you should remember is over three years old now and should not be compared to these new ones. Like all other phones, you CAN'T keep your phone in your pockets with your keys, coins or any other metals for that matter!! What is the matter with you? The screen WILL gets scratched if you do so, and if the screen dosen't get scratched, the phone's case will be scratched. If you are looking for a phone to watch flash web contents, this is not the phone to use, get one of the new ones. If you are not looking to fork out a lot of money and want a regular phone that can play mp4 vids, takes really good 3mp photos, reads and edits office documents, and can do lots more. then you could have the P1i. If you want more than that and not wanting to spend a lot just the same, also feeling comfortable with a small alpha numeric keypad, get the Nokia N82, really good phone. I am selling mine now too if anyone is interested. I now have too much phones;)

It is friendly to use, a lot of options and I am very much happy to be an user of it. But it has limited games to have fun.

Besides its lazy reaction, connecting the phone to PC, either by BT or cable is a challenging issue in this model like other models of SE.
I didn't use other brands yet and I really can not make a comparison with other brands.
but I've heard alot about complaining of difficulties in connecting to PC by people.

The King, 18 Nov 2009It is really sad to hear that you feel this way about the P... moreyes, I know alittle (!) about that memory stuff. what I am saying is its standard applications like messaging, camera, phonebook etc, which are awfully slow.
You have to wait few seconds for all of these applications and it's disgusting!
All those shortcuts is for compensating phone's slow reaction does not change anything.
Try to search a name in your phone book, read or answer a message, take a picture in this phone and compare it with other models, even with SE itself and you'll figure out what I'm saying.
As I said before "I am a SE fan", but I really hate to be fanatic in judgement

Im curently using P1i almost half a year, this is a great phone,
even when i try to change other cellphone, i still cant find such a great phone like this
Pro:
1. I like the keyboard, unique, and smart
2. I like menu interface, shortcut, and costumable
3. Great file explorer, and even u can open ZIP and RAR file using free third party application.
4. Great browser, if u upgrade your opera mobile
5. You can have more than single email account, great msging..
Cons:
1. small task manager icon (i think we need dedicated button)
2. Below average camera quality, (its smart phone what u expected ?)
3. Average music media player, but still it has MegaBass
4. Only support 3G, no EDGE no HSDPA, (but u have wifi)
We cant have it all in single cellphone.. U need netbookphone lolz
Im not regret , im loving it
