Hi, for all those who are planning to purchase this phone:
i have use this phone intensively for a year and this is what i feel.
Design:
Bearing in mind that this is a relatively 'old' phone (compared to omnia,htc pro, storm etc), the phone is very stylish and not bulk and ugly like N-series.
Keyboard:
Weird keyboard but you quickly get use to it after a while. I wont recommend it to people with huge fingers or to ladies with long nails. i really think the phone would be better with directional keys.
Touchcreen:
descent touchscreen but of course, no match to the iphone. Relatively slow response sometimes. Possible but difficult to use the touchscreen with your fingers only. Some buttons need the stylus. So it is very frustrating to switch between fingers and stylus. You will end up using the stylus evrytime , mainly when using the office applications.
the scroller on the side in theory allow you to use the phone with one hand, but this is not the case, unless on the basic functions. you need your finger/stylus to use the phone fully.
Interface:
I really like the interface and the fact that it allows you to have like 'two menus'. you can also press on any icon on the stand by menu and you go directly to the funtion. e.g if you want to know your battry level, just press on the battery icon in the stand by menu. same for clock, calendar etc. 9you do need the stylus if you have big fingers)
Camera:
Descent camera as you would expect from a 3.15 MP with flash. the only downside is it takes a few frustrating seconds (4-5 sec)for the camera to start.
Also processing the picture ( autofocusing etc) takes ages before you can view your picture. the image quality do lack a bit of colour. (P1i user tell me what you think on this ).
Video recording is a bit disappointing.
Performance:
Yes the phone do hang sometimes but not like 4 times day ( well for me). there is a delay in opening/closing applications but not a severe one. opening/closing msg can take some frustrating 1-2 sec.
in general all features/applications are ok. battery is ok. wifi connectivity is fine.
businees side of the phone is brilliant (but you need the stylus :-)).

This will give all the lost audio files. But, you need to back up your phone first, since the old software will be replaced by a new one. This is what I've done on my phone. Upgrading to a new software. If you are on new software already. I suggest you call SE Cust Care.

I have had my P1 for 3 months now and it is very good except in 1 respect whenever i am using the Quick-office and highlight a sentence without pressing edit the Phone hangs, i have to take out the battery and restart it before it is useful again. My reckoning is that it is because of the low processor power, otherwise the phone is simply awesome...... my wish is Sony Ericsson can do an update which can sort out this mess, for now the phone has a 74% mark

I have done Master resent of my P1i. All the ring tones and Demo which come by default has been deleted. Can some one pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase upload or send me by email (adnan.ashraf@ymail.com) the default ringtones and Demo clip? I will be very very grateful. Look forward to hear from you soon!!!!

Anonymous is a hater of SE. He can be found on most SE forums especially Xperia (X1). try not to reply his dissing of SE. Only users should be allowed to comment negatively or positively. i use the P1i and it is amazingly stable and fast. i love SE phone because at a time when other phone companies only put special features on their expensive models, SE gave us everything in almost all model they brought out.
i have respect for a company that can do that and still sell their phones at prices that average people can have access to them. SE haters can go eat fried mango leaves or look for the nearest bridge to take a flying leap off of, take your pick. SE rocks the mostest!!!!

the only bad about touchscreens is that when u accidentally pressed/touched the 'end' button when there is an ongoing call. lol!

i am having a problem streaming with my p1. i keep getting the error saying "siter error" even though it does not have a prob where can i download a flash player for my p1? anyone knows?

i have the p1 it has a great battery life and i love the qwerty but my p1i always hangs on me at least 4-5 times a day.

Along with that add an habit of exiting the application once after use. That saves a lot of battery too. With this habit I allow my P1i to run for almost 2 days with great messaging use. Receiving upto 200sms per day and forwarding eats a lot of battery.

So find a good converter and then you go.
