Do not Upgrade!!! To the P910i, P910a or p910 if you want a PDA. I wanted a Mobile Phone that does what it advertises what it will do. For $700 to $1,000.00 I expect Sony’s products to do what it says. I have had several Phones, Pocket Pc is one of them and I never had any issues with its software, the phone, and the promises made for what the phone does was kept.

Do not buy this P910i, P910, or P910a phone!! There are many software issues that need to be fixed. The reviews are mostly Sony Advertisements. If it did what Sony advertised it would be great but let me assure you, after many hours with Sony Ericsson customer support, it does not. For those of you who want to synchronize your contacts with subcategories to your phone the Symbian operating system and programs do not work as advertised. Neither does the P910i software work for pictures and MP3's. I have 2 Pentium 2 Computers, XP, 2 gigs of memory and have had other phones that worked seamlessly with outlook and other programs.

A class action lawsuit needs to be filed soon if Sony does not solve their false P910i advertising and resolve these issues with a patch as I have been told they do not intend to do so.

    Re: browsing..

Opera is available for this fone, and it's the best browser for handhelds. However, my P800 performance is hella slow, dunno if the 910's CPU or firmware was updated to speed Opera up any.

Also, mapquest is kind of sucky on PDAs, even with their PDA mode, though that may be a function of Opera auto-downsizing of maps.

If this phone had Wifi and UMTS/3G support, and if I had the $$$, I'd be all over it.

This is really the best phone of the GPRS generation, but 3G is finally starting to happen in real life, and SE really needs to update this phone to support 3G and VoIP over Wifi.

I'd wait until the update. I still need a firmware upgrade on my P800 tho :p

The phone is good, but you have to buy at least 512mb ram...It's large touchscreen is very useful.Be careful with it,because if you drop it it will be fatal because it's a fragile technology but yet very well constructed.

                    To VicToR~:

P910 has preinstalled software called Quickoffice with Quickword and Quicksheet. Those programs can open Word and Excel files, also, it's possible to create your own documents and spreadsheets.

I have read this tread and must to say, that any comparison of S700(700i) with P910 is an incompetent. How could be compared phones focused on different target groups? Also, it is incomprehensible to compare Symbian and non-Symbian phone, they have different ideology and serve for different purposes.

S700(700i) - absolutly image-class phone (I hope nodoby concider the rotator to be a business-class attribute?), has all and everything the common consumer needs - large screen, high-resolution camera, mulitmedia features, etc.

P910 - is an "alieni generis", business machine, oriented for users, who are not seeking for an ultimate-mpix cameras and radio in their phones, but expect a flexibility that Symbian could give. Now Symbian UIQ are avaliable more than 1000 different applications, games etc. P910 could give everything that user expects from this smartphone.

Also, I can admit, after I've bought P900 2 years ago (now I've changed it for P910), i can't use phone without touchscreen - they are seems to me too bulky and non-ergonomic.

About WiFi absence - yet, this function is not vital, there are only few WiFi-phones avaiable at market (Nokia 9500, HP iPAQ 6340). For those users, who can't live without WiFi can wait. As anounced, new Sony-Ericsson smartphone would be equipped with Wireless module.

This is the best phone ever made by far.
It doesn't have the best camra, but if you want a top camera then buy an S700.

This phone does everything, mine has a Movie Player where i can watch full length films in wide screen (I can save 3 on a 512mb memory stick), a TV remote, an Excell and Word viewer/editor, you can also play top games like V-rally. The list goes on.

Name one other phone that can do all this that looks this good (other than the P900)

                                    To Arsh:
Don't go with the P900,the price difference between P900 and P910 is not that much. Compared to the S700 and P910, the p900 only has 65000 screen, memory limit same as S700, you would not be gaining anything from p900 compared to others.
Buy the S700 for the 1.3 mp cam,the looks and slighly better mobility or buy the P910 for the ultimate 1gig memory
