got mine (p990i) for 3yrs now. had the same problem such as yours, i discovered that the slot for memosy tends to break the memory railing. it was brought about by the loading and removal of the mmc. while the camera initializes long due to a loose micro switch located at the back of the camera lens cover. i can help you fix that. just let me know ok? hope you have that phone fixed. it is a great phone im still using mine as of this time

Hi to all P990i fans, i've had my p990i for 3 years already and suddenly the camera and memory slot do not work anymore. It remains on Initializing when I turn on the camera and when I insert my memory it says "memory corrupted". I checked that my memory is working fine with my pc, so there's no problem in it.
I already updated my firmware to the latest one, did hard reset and none seem to work. Can it still be fixed? I'm thinking to bring it to some technician guy.. I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks very much. I am trish from philippines.

to all people who want GDesk 0.33 just google search it and look for the .jar file or .rar file from the website its free anyway and make sure its compatible with your p990 ok
attack your p990 to your computer and intall the GDesk 0.33 to your c:\ drive folder system of your p990(i cant remember if you need to put it on read only.. try it anyway)then go back to the computer and look for the crack file of the GDesk 0.33 then copy paste it to the GDesk of your p990 that you just transfered that will make the Gdesk the main program of your p990 but also dont do this yet unless you have also a copy of the iphone lock program that is the sliding on the screen for unlocking the your screen of course .. now the purpose of that is simple the side button of our p990 for unlock will no longer respond because you now have new Operating system and you cant use your p990 if the screen is lock hahahaha make sure that the flip of your p990 is no longer attach hahahah that will no longer work as well hahahah
so i hope i helped out

RN, 21 May 2010I also wanna figure out how can i download and install gdes... morehey RN i already installed GDesk 0.33d and it works nicely with my P990i
there are many versions of GDesk like 0.33a,0.33c, i don't know which one exactly compatible with P990i but it's not harmful if u try each one of them

once you detected the available wifi go back to the main window
menu>tools> control panel > connection > internet accounts > look for the name of the wifi (this is only if the wifi store has a padlock ok) > then change authentication to shared and you will see a WEP key # there where you should put the wifi password ok
i hope i helped out to you guys
but i ussualy use the free wifi like on the mall hahaha save time and trouble hahahahah (coz im lazy )

if you are using your internet before on this mobile or even your mms try to transfer your simcard to another cellphone wait for 5 min globe will send another settings to you instantly so decline it and put your sim again to your p990 wait for 5 min then it will send you another settings.. if not
try this
menu > tools > control panel > connections >internet wizard >accept (you need to have at least 10 pesos for this transaction .. if not
menu > tools > control panel > connections >internet account >(dropdown option on the top) > new account >DATA >
1 account name: Globe GPRS
2 address: www.globe.com.ph
3 (click on data account for the drop down menu)
4 click proxy
5 check the box use proxy
6 proxy server address: 203.177.42.214
7 proxy port: 8080
8 save
9 save
10 go to group create a group put this Globe GPRS priority 1 then your good to go
if not
just change the address (step 2) http.globe.com.ph
change (step 6) 64.255.180.253
change (step 7) 80
step 8,9,10
i doubt that this will not work hmp!!!! hahahaha
