To achieve better battery life, reduce your backlight to 70% or 65%. Go to Tools, then Control Panel, then Device, then Backlight, then tap Brightness. After tapping the Brightness, you will see below the screen the percent of brightness of your unit. Just tap the percentage (%) and it will give you the option to reduce the brightness (you can use the jog dial to increase and reduce the brightness).

I seem to be having problems connecting my P990 to my orange livebox wireless internet at home. I have a 26 character WEP but when i enter it into the phone it seems to take only 15 characters. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

02 keep trying to push the 990i on to me so that I will not cancel my contract. It's a great deal on offer but i'm dubious as everyone seems to be having big software probs with this fone. Honest opinions please!

i think we should wait for another week or so for the R9 firmware for p990 to be updated in the update service of sony ericsson web site or if we can confirm that it is already out & still not updating, then i think we should freshly install the update service again and try.
Also i dont think there will be any improvement in the sound quality with the new R9 firmware 'cause SE guys will atleast have to eliminate these hanging & restarting problems before they concentrate on the music quality any way lets check out buddy.

hi there, got this phone for around 2 weeks now, everything works fine except for the battery which obviously doesnt last as long as previous models. lasts only around 2 hours ++ for continuous talking from full charge. my firmware for phone is CXC162037 R7A001, is this the latest firmware??
by the way, how do i turn on the speaker phone while on a call, apart from tapping on the speakerphone button on screen when the call is connected...anyway to do it with a click of any button?? thanks!

My battery only lasts just over 48 hours, how can I achieve maximum battery? I have adjusted the brightness of the display as well as keep the keys locked at all time. I also went Tools,control panel,device but there was no power saving mode option

dose new firmware has any improve in speaker and music quality?I will upgrade my firmware tommarow.

Ok yesyerday i was wondering why my phone kept restarting every 15 minutes. then after couple of restarts i realized that whenever a person calls me, the phone restarts, so i almost was about to break the phone, but realized i paid 1200 for it. so i had to do the backup and restore thing, but it wasnt workin, so i had no choice. i did the reset thing, and lost everyhtin i had on the phone, its like a brand new phone, but atleast it fixed the problem. and the R9E comes out on the site on FRIDAY the 22nd. so i hope this one is going to be better.

i 100% agree with your concept that we people should keep pressurizing SONY ERICSSON to fix all the bugs as soon as possible so that we dedicated customers will be benifited rather than keeping us wait for long time without shifting to another brand of mobile. so i keep mailing to the SE support centre once in a week and they assure that all our problems will be fixed as soon as possible. so lets keep our fingers crossed for some time rather than going or another brand.
