Ha, Ha , Ha, I am laughing and rolling on the ground at you guys who were poking fun at the Nokia 8800SE and giving comments like poor this and no that and all kind of things. At least I know what I bought and what I can do with it, and it does ot wonderfully.
Whats next boys and girls, SE 991i ?

untested piece of Sh*t, lost my faith in SE , what happened !! was a proud owner of P900, was most advance in its class back then and SE were supposed to be market leaders, they've lost out to other manufacturers like IMATE and even Nokia !!!

And plus cant you'll see that this is so cheap !!! not even 800 $ COME ON , the P series always were more than 800 $ , i think SE knew because of their late release and out dated model since announcement that the price would have to be less.

      I give up on SE , V V V Dissapointed.

Hadd 2 phones on trial 4 3 weeks on vodaphone and gave up due to: too many bugs, constant freezes, blue tooth failure and need every day to remove battery to reboot. Total frustration and a total joke form a business tool persepctive.
I am waiting for Orange version to be sent to me which seems to be more stable having tried it in an Orange shop. Orange has newer software version compared to Vod.
Am considering the SPV M3100 as an alternative....but P990 is a maasive disappointment and am not too hopeful on the orange version but will let you know.

To all those who were too eager to buy the handset prior to full testing, I feel sorry for you. The P990i interface was riddled with complications but a few operators internationally (including 02) held back until they were fully happy with its operation. I almost didn't wait either and almost even switched to Voda to settle my anticipation but am now fairly pleased I didnt. Egghead, I called O2 today and as far as they are aware there are no further delays with the release of the handset. It should appear on their order systems by Wednesday 25th at the latest. Also, the operator will receive them first before the O2 stores. That said, lets not hold our breath...

why did they put so little memory on the device i thought nokia were poor with low memory.Samsung do a decent effort even tho not smartfone mostly & sony ericsson put 470mb in the w900.These smartphones need a realistic amount of memory to perform & to accomodate the apps that go onto them.Like the chap below how many times have people deleted messages,, games even other apps in the hope of grabbing back some extra internal memory when it shud not be happening shud it???All the reports in the usual mags give it an awful result reguards crashing & it looks outdated now but for £400 prepay on voda uk i was exited but not anymore,,,,shame really as my p900 is way out of date

4th posting re my P990. OK, I have been travelling around London to various places I have visited with my V600i. a) P990 not sensitive and loses signal all the time. b) Erased the Golf game to try and free up memory, but no difference, apps still crash. The features in the phone and the build quality are excellent, but the software needs a complete re-design and to be heavily optimised. Anyone care to do it, I have some ideas? Imagine, P990i hardware with an OS as friendly and stable as that from Palm, but something all new! Yah? 'alexblok@owonder.com'

I am deeply disappointed in Sony Ericsson - for what they are doing to themselves. South African providers have still not received stock of the phone. I am starting to wonder when I'll have my chance to complain about the phone's stability... The supply problem of the Sony Ericsson is a great disappointment.

Rs 6,000 price drop in India.... guess that says it all... shabby design / below average phone ... low sales.... another thing ... average proce for smart phones are coming down... range between Rs 14,000 through Rs 26,000/- No cpmpany will able to sustain volumes above Rs 26,000/-

3rd posting since I obtained P990. My next complaint (other than the continued crashing despite fact I have latest software), is that after entering some Tasks, they are truncated when being viewed! So, one has to click not once, but twice, to enter edit mode to see the full text! Pointless, as it makes reading through a list, whether shopping or talking points for a meeting a total pain in the a*se.

To the guy asking about the Opera Browser,

You can veiw the browser in modes, landscape, normal, fit to page, text only mode. even in landscape mode you can use the keyboard or use the handwriting recognition, I prefer the keyboard. You can view flash and java, but you do ocassionally run out of memory, you can access the the full internet, secure connetions aswell

egg head. about o2 getting it on 23rd. i reckon that it will be the WC 6/11/6 yeah i know!!! they have been saying 23rd which is this monday but i don't think so. the o2 stores are getting them in on 6/11/06.

unless the call centres are getting them in before the stores...possible.

Well well well, I just tried to do a software update via the SE website, and it said my P990 already has the latest software! The Quick launch feature crashes every time I try to assign the remaining 'diamond' on the grid to an application. And that is not including the random crashes and 'Kernel' errors that occurr every so often and make the phone almost unusable despit it's huge potential. (The camera is excellent BTW, as is the radio.)
