Kudos to SE 4 a job well done. Have been waiting for this fone 4 a long time, would a user pls tell me what this phone can do? I mean all its features. mind mailing me, swifts1@gmail.com i love the phone and want to buy it.

Back to which features that you want maximally.
Both of them are smartphone with multimedia ability and not too many differences feature.
N93 give more at video and camera functie but P990 give more to work (business purpose). You can compare their specification.
For me personally I choose SE P990i, because I need it to work and I like touchscreen.
Before you buy one of them, you must prepare that maybe the battery life is not like 'usually' phone because they have many many function.
And be patient, if sometimes you find problem because most of them can be corrected by software update.
Don't forget share us, if you have buy it.

this is to c buddy with the keypad and jogdial this is the smartphone which can be used one handed (if you mean that you cannot use this phone one handed)try typing an sms on atom or htc or imate any smart phone which does not have a keypad with one hand will know what i mean this phone you can use it anyway you want with or without flip and pls oh pls buy this phone from sony original dealer they will charge you a bit more but its worth it pls do not buy it from grey market no wonder it will hang and people will get defective units.cause we know there are some so called units released for promo it happened with the p 910 also if you remember.the keyboard is not crap its workable if there was no keyboard only screen there would have been people bitching abt there is no keyboard take a look at the p 900.910 froums. where in the hell are those people? and if the keyboard was a bit wide and with big keys there would have been people bitching about how wide the phone is and the screen diff with p 990 and p 910 is measley 2mm so there is no end to bitching bottom line excellent phone if you buy it from original dealer and do not use third party software (i am not an se fan my phone before was a nokia before it was p 910 )but this the 990 is just too good all in one use it however you like it.

where does ur p990i made? is it france or china? coz im thinking where does these bad batch made of?? pls reply... im planning 2 buy one... and i dont want to buy the bad batch...

please help.the line where the battery icon is it disapears.....and phone gets restared
and says "the phone restarted for better performance what the hell its means...
other than that very nice phone better than my nokia 9500

hi orange! I think you got a bad batch of the unit, as others claim. why dont you try do update. you can download update from official sony ericsson site. My P990i has no problem ever since I bought it..

i just got my SE 3 days ago... as wat ive experience.. it will re start automatically... i dont know why? hey pips... is your SE p990i re start automatically?

Ive got the phone for two weeks already. The phone is really great, camera is better at 2M level compare with other manufacturers, WIFI access is great and easy to use. No hanging problems, faster operation compare with Nokia counterparts. Well, I can say it has all the functionalities I need for a smart phone and can be used even here in Japan.

I've had the phone and a HTC Tytn for 14 days.
Using one for business, and one for personal and swapping over after 7 days.
P990
Good points.
Lighter, feels less bulky than the Tytn.
Better Camera, by a long shot than the Tytn.
Possibly better audio quality.
Bad Points.
Very unintuitive to use, I've had a P800/900/910i
P990 feels like different family of phone.
PDA/PIM side very poor compared to Tytn.
No sync with Mac despite claims it does.
Tytn.
Good points.
Very clear screen.
Very good keyboard.
very good pim
Lots of apps to custmise the phone to how you want it.
Bad points.
Reliability, it has locked up twice in the 14 days.
In short, i'm taking back the p990 under a 14 day exchange and getting another tytn.
If I couldn't have either, I'd go back to the P910i, which I think is a much better phone than the P990.
I'd like the P910i, with Wifi and a 2mb camera, and the business card app.
I miss the proper jog dial of the earlier p phones, and I don't like the handicapped version in the p990.
I also don't like the very poor battery life of the P990 compared to the Tytn, (1 day vs 2)
So real comments, from a real user of both.
If you don't like the Tytn, pocket pc phones, then get a p910i or keep hold of the one you've got!

china made p990 is better! if you're planning to buy P990, get the china made phone instead of the france made P990 . france version sucks! phone hangs!!! ask where is made first before you buy it.

i have bought p990i yestarday from ebay and the phone works good but the volume is not very loud can any one plz tell me if the rae facing the same problem or is it my phone only and can any one telll me any tips and trick to increase volume plz illl be thankfull
