its true what the person below posted..the firmware upgrade that is available as of now will not fix all of the bugs, but it is a step in the right direction.. it is a good idea to wait until the later batches are released, but for htose of you that cant wait, this phone is still a solid performer.. besides, show me a phone at this level that doesnt have any bugs..the htc tytn is suffering from firmware issues also, and keyboard problems..

Important massage to everybody, the phone performance through firmware updated is NOT 100% the same as latest updated phone from Sony Ericsson. Advise to wait until 3rd or 4rd batch release.

someone said that he has to change his battery every 2 days and he complains about it? i think that 2 days for a phone like this. you have to understand, this is not like the old phones anymore that are not colored, and have very few features. i think 2 days is average for an average user. i dont think its that bad

Does anybody know how to install Real Player, or windows Media Player in the P990?? I'd like to listen to some internet radios.. but P990 doesnt support so far any of the music players above? please help

by the way, if you text message or im frequently, turning off the vibrate function will save battery life also..but overall, battery life on the p990i is comparable to my older p910..well, from what i remember..

turn off other apps while using wifi, lower brightness of the screen..theres an option for that..also, you can use wifi while in flight mode..

try closing all of your apps when using your wifi, and setting the brightness of the dissplay lower..there is a power save option for that.. you are aware that you can use wifi while in flight mode right..

I got mine 1 week ago, I cant stop playing with the phone. 1 major drawback is when you'll be using WIFI, the battery life DROPS DOWN significantly !!! Why didnt the reviews mentioned this b4.. it's very disapointing.... + over all, its says that talking time is estimated 9 hours, well, i think it's crap, I'm not a heavy talker over the phone, but I need to charge the battery evrery 2nd day! FYI, I use GSM network only, no 3G available yet in canada.
Can anyone plz tell me how to maximize the battery life>????

P990i is currently due on the 13 September 2006 (subject to change).
Price for upgrade will be approx. £250 (obviously depending on monthly spend, etc.)
Hopefully, it will be worth the wait!

whoa! thats a lot of money..yeah i suggest you wait for the price to lower a bit..and who knows, by then the bugs might be fixed with the upgrades.. just give the phone a chance to impress you..and i have to say that the business card scanner on the p990 is awesome..i just take a picture of the card and the phone will automatically seperate the names and numbers and file it to your contact list..

yakuzah- you cannot take pictures with the front mount camera.. the speed of the gprs in the u.s. depends on your service provider,tmobile,cingular..it doesnt have edge. but it is 3g and cingular is starting to offer 3g in the u.s.
