Qtek 9600 can be a competitor for p990. It has a great keypad.

i just have one question/
when this mobile want to come?
i 7 month stand & they told it coming soon when it want to come; just told me that why they want to say lie when they don't have any p990 just the picture of it you know what i mean it just model nothing inside it that is just the reason for that /they don't have anything, yuck...

After such a long waiting period the features sony ericsson is giving in p990 are out of date(3G, 2MP CAM, WI-FI). I kept waiting for so long n finally i bought i-mate JASJAR its a gr8 phone stop waiting for this outdated phone.

If you look at Sony Ericsson's websites, I think they arrange their phones by the order they intend to launch. Interestingly, On Singapore's website, it is second in line after K510i, though W700 is supposed to be released first. I wonder if that means that there could be a slight hope that P990 may be released earlier. Well, just a hope. Still, I hope Sony Ericsson sticks to their word that the phone will be released at a price on par or cheaper than P910. :)

Hey guys, what I know from a friend from SE. This phone actually ready to launch. The management just want to test the patience of the end users. The more queries they received about this phone, the higher the price they will sell when it launch. Guys, please be patience and keep low......

I am also getting tired of waiting around for this phone! I am seriousley thinking about just buying another phone onstead of waiting around for this one to come out... The only thing that is holding me back is that no Smart Phone has or will have a 2mp camera! People, please help me out since i have never used any SE Smart phone:
Do SE Smart phones have the capability to use microsoft Office programs such as word and excel?
How much will this phone cost when it comes out? I read one opinion that said somewhere around $900... but i dont think so

I've just read on a Swedish tech magazine that the P990i has been delayed to Q3 2006.

my fren in sweden said this fone is already out for testing and he is the one who did the testing.. but y r they delaying i'm not sure bout it... but my thought is they r now planning to launch.. just need time to stable the software and make sure it dun comes out the prob like o2 atom did.. is a failure product when u force to launch a product quickly w/o making the fone stable..

you know Sony needs to stop worrying about protecting their copyrights on movies and music which they rip artist off anyway with. and start focusing on developing new and exciting technology and get with the times. don't be brand loyal i am so glad i have used 2 other phones since SE p990 was announced to be released. guys you are better of with 02 Atom or Nokia 91 which is allready out then this lazy brand by the time when this comes out and the suckers who buy this you will look like old school and fool for showing off because so many phones have this capability right now and they are now moving to the next step.

Personal i think thsi phoen is just going to be dropped come end of summer and something else will be announed. and they will just use the tech they learned from this phone. oh well. it will be well out of date by the time it is actual released

imho, I think SE does not have this product ready. It is acceptable to hold a few months due to lots of features inside and fixing the bugs but this is too long to wait. Guess this is one of their marketing trick to shows to their fans that SE still have good product to compete in smart phone market, which in reality, they do not have it at this moment.

to my opinion, i believe SE should hold on to the released of the P990i so that they could upgrade to maybe a 3.2megapixel camera,30fps video capture, basically to match Nokia N93 specs. that would be great.

I think in the future Sony should not announce their new phones unless they are a couple of weeks from actual release. We have been waiting for this phone for almost 7months. By the time it come out will it be obsolete? I think so.

I'm not waiting anymore.Currently using Imate K-Jam(and good old P900 as a back-up).When P990 will come out(i don't really care how soon) i'll try it,but i don't i'll buy it.That's how you loose your loyal customers,SE...
