this set really rocks man!! i was programming to upgrade my s700i to w800i but after watching this .i think i can wait for 3 or 4 months .. good bye Nokia

WiFi means two things: 1)expect 1 hour battery life, which means it's totally useless for a phone. 2)why pay extra money for this useless add-on when you have fast gprs. Also unless they come up with an EDGE version for US users here, otheriwse 3G is useless and a waste. Not worth to upgrade my p910a to this one. Bad move SE

Hereby, I notify again for SONY-Ericsson, a mobile phone is not a Digicam/MP3 player or even a PDA with built-in GSM....
first it should support communications services of UMTS/GSM/GPRS/EDGE and provide best perfomance of them e.g. high data rate to Internet ....not 32 - 48 kbps ....
Anyway I prefer a PDA thinner than 26mm, cuz engaging a 5.5mm lens.....I think its camera would be great!
I believe in Sony of battery charge-life-time ....
In our network, Sony-Ericsson phones have a problem on paging (to be paged of incoming call)....

to steve ,,remember that the p900/910i is full screen of unit & 208 x 320 this is half the screen & 240 x 320 so will be a big resolution improvement.I cant find out the recorder size as in frames per second or whether its cif recording..Ihave p900 & did not upgrade to p910i but this is a different upgrade in specs altogether but hate the colour they should have kept it black.My main problem with the 900 is when the flip is shut you could not game or use internet or do other things that use buttons so decided from there on that im a button pusher & not touchscreen fan.This device combats this as well! I am using n6680 at moment and its superb but when i get next phone""2006 now""things will all be different again & I REALLY HOPE we see more of the fantastic handsets that grace the japanese market and 3g is fully working so people can evantually use video to video face calls as at the moment even if your in a good 3g area it does not mean the recipient is so how the hell can video calling ever take off??I also hope rok film cards take off & become cheaper..thats it for me

I'm a nokia fans .. but now i believe P990i is the best. if offers what exactly what i wants . PDA, PHONE, TOUCH SCREEN, WIFI, MP3, 2MP with FLASH AND AUTO FOCUS, VIDEO, BLUETOOTH, SYMBIAN OS, 3G . this is what i want and it has got all ! currently my nokia 6680 and even my awaiting N70 also i won't be buying anymore. It's not worth the money. P990i has got more features and i can go online whenever i go ! it's great !

gr8 job SE... im a nokia user...n think only this fone can compete wid other high end nokia smartfones...k750 n w800 r jus not my type... as im used to installing a lot of apps in my cell... this cell is gud..but think by the time it will be released NOKIA wud surprise us wid some ulta fundoo mobile...wid 3mp cam,wifi,etc etc.... till dat time.. this rules...

I wish I could get this phone. Right now I have a P900 and the PDA is crack and to fix it is $200.00 I really wish I get it fix soon and sell it or trade it in or put the balance for this p990 phone. This phone is sweet, I am loving it already.

look at that phone (the spesification are awsome) the phone contain everything i'm a nokia fan (nokia 7710) but i must admit this phone is my next one and i think soon, all i want is to see if it have any cons (after it's realesed) and the phone is mine .... mine i tell you .... mine !!!!!

LONG live Sony Ericsson Fans!!!!! i'm a sony ericsson addict for life, for better or worse..... and how dare anyone compare Sony Ericsson to a nokia. SE rules the game. i had a K700i and now i use a P910i there is no phone better than an SE... and this new p990 is Wiiicked. who gives a heck about beauty when it has all the functions any sane person will need. i hope it comes down to Nigeria pretty soon so i can get one. peace to all SE faithfulls. Can anyone tell me where to get the "ring" in the LORD OF THE RINGS wallpaper?

damn... i have a se k700 (best phone so far for my spesification) and for the mean time i was starting to think of buying a pda or something like ... So the P990 is the best (i always carried a nokia until 1 year ago when i purchased the se k700) i think it's worth wait'n and pay'n it

that is Sony Ericsson most new and with many function ,included high mega pixel (1600x1200)the most great smart phone buit in 3G ,wifi,radio,large memory.it wil be my next mobile phone!Sony Ericsson ! i always support it!

Agree with dragos. Come on people, all of you want EVERYTHING on EVERY phone. UMTS can do a better job than EDGE. Same case for infra vs bluetooth. What makes you all think the phone is MADE JUST FOR YOU ?

uff yea no fon would have edge n umts at the same place, it would be a waste if it does, 3g r faster than edge, y we need edge anyway since we have got 3g, if u re saying wifi r useless, den y intel comes up with centrino?

3G is 3 times faster than EDGE and is 6 times faster than GPRS. Check out the the fact first b4 writing here.Or just go get a nokia 3210. Wifi is neccessary now...every corners hv free wifi surfing..just bring extra batt...if u gnna use this phone to surf. unless u live in the jungle using smoke signal.

Features wise it looks great.
Obviously lookswise it could have been better.
Even EDGE migth have made it perfect phone ever.
Nonetheless W800 is good bargain as this might be launched it much higher cost.
