umm.. im thinking of gettin this phone for my birthday but after hearing all this stuff about the keypad cracking, i'm sorta havin second thoughts. i really wanna know if the "keypad cracking" thing is true cos i really like this phone and i still wanna get but i don't want the keypads to crack.
anyway, if the keypads do break, can u plz tell me if it breaks like after a year or two months??? thnks

Bella, 23 Nov 2008guys, wat do u mean by crack ??? i juz wanna know more bec... moreby crack they mean the paint literally cracks on the keypad.tere is a line that develops after time down each number.it doesnt affect the phones performance it just makes the numbers less pretty to look at.i hope this helps

I have been using this erickson s500 for barely 5 months and its great, but unfortunately, i had the same problem as the others. keypad cracked! i dont know why. I dont play games on my phone. Im only using it as for calling. Here in philippines, the radio plays.

i was planning to buy one coz
i like its outlook and features
and i think it's stylish ...
u can customize it ..
but wat i don't get is the keypad
w/c all of you usually contradicts ...
"crack" keypad ?? does it mean
the keypad doesn't work anymore
or the letters are fading including its
color ??? pls. be specific guys ... pls
tell me more about it ... so i could come up
w/ a decision without any regret at all ...

when i give vibration to my cell then suddenly any of my sound doesn't work. then it says "cannot play the file". After using it for 4 months my USB port is almost out of work and i face problem while charging my phone due to its port...

I've had this phone for about 5 or 6 month and no one key has cracked... don't know what that fuzz is all about.

jarrad, 20 Nov 2008people say there keypad cracked easly i am thinking of buyi... moreBuy the new generation phones. They might be a lil more expensive but they have much better features. Though except for no FM there is nothing wrong with this phone.

does any one no if the phone is going to come down in price in ausrtralia it is now $179 (austrlian dollars)
and will it be coming down around december 12th thinking i might by one for my birthday and is it worth the money im not going to spend $179! on somthing its going to break in 2 weeks lol! pleaz get back to me soon

Thanks for the info but i'm really surprised about the FM bcoz even on this site it does not say FM in the specifications.
Anyway, i'm buying a W760 today as i'm very excited about the GPS function and it definately has radio :-) Will use it and post review.

Had this phone for 2 weeks now.. So far so good!! I'm not encountering any problems but i am scared that my keys will crack! It seems to happen to a lot of people but so far not to me!! All and all a nice cute cheep phone :)

i only used it for two months..
it was in my bag all the time..then when i look for it to see if i have a message..damn! it is burning hot!! i put out the battery to let it cool off..but when i returned it..the hell..it couldn't be opened already..i went to an authorized sony ericsson service center to let them fix it..but now..it is almost 3 weeks and no progress was detected..hope it will be fix soon..i really love the color and the everchanging theme...
