I just had a play with this phone it is not that good looking but nice features, still like my 7610 though

i am from south africa. we are only getting this phone in november 2004. it will cost about R5500. thats a truck load of money considering the t610 only costs R1950. i am due for an upgrade then so i am gonna start saving

I hope so too! My current one (Nokia 7650) is more than 2 years old and I really want to get this S700! I think October is realistic.

Don't kill me if I'm wrong...but many sources are pointing towards a September/October release of the S700... Somewhere mid-end September... hope this is true...

they announced this phone almost a year ago. how long does it take to release? it will be out of date soon.

Found it for €699! Delivery week 39 to 45(oktober)
To much money for tis one! P900 cost €720 but you get the usb cradle and a leather belt case and the p900 as a touchscreen! So 700 euro is to much iwould to €600!

I don't think the S700 will be cheaper than the 7610, because it has all the features that 7610 has, and moreover a better camera and a better display.

The S700 is not available anywhere now - it will be out in Q4, some people say October, others say December...

To get a realistic price estimation, let's take some more or less comparable phones: The P900 (list price $799), the K700 (list price $499) and the Nokia 7610 (list price $580).
The price of the S700 should lie somewhere between the K700 and the P900. Comparing the specs of the S700 with those of Nokia's 7610, I think the S700 will be a bit more expensive than the Nokia (better pictures, larger display).
Therefore the estimate list price will be around $600, probably a bit higher.

I wrote a mail regarding the release date of the S700 to a marketing company representing Sony Ericsson in Switzerland. The respnse was October 2004, so I hope I get one before December.
