So go F yourself with your nonsense. This phone is great, and if you haven't noticed yet, it record 864x480 @ 24 fps.

note I'm not trying to bring down the Satio cult... just sharing opinion which is what this discussion
is about...
I wonder if most of you use T9 or Multi-tap in
texting. T9 means it's dictionary based. Multi-tap
means you have to press the let's say key "4"
twice to access the "h". In hardware based
keypad, your finger still touches the button
as you press it twice or thrice but in touchscreen
you have to rise your finger and back down for
the second or third press and hence it's slower
to type in touchscreen if you use multi-tap,
agree? Most of people I know in my town use
multi-tap. I haven't used touchscreen for longer
time so don't know what's it's like. I own a Nokia
N82 and wanna upgrade but thinking whether
a touchscreen would just slow down messaging
which is one step forward but 2 steps backward
in owning a touchscreen.
For camera, Ixus 100 is better. For music and
browsing, Ipod Touch is better. But in the Satio,
you at least have both in one package even in
more rough package so it's not bad thing to own
a satio and I'm not saying bad thing about it.
Just sharing opinion and comment, ok satio guys...

I have just updated my Satio with the latest firmware. Video recording now is even more fantastic because of its WVGA support now. The SMS now is theaded and the format is similar to that of XPERIA X10. I have noticed also that the transition going to different application is more snappy with the new firmware. You can do now direct YouTube upload which is really handy. Satio is simply the BEST coupled with such a wonderful support from SE. I am sure this is not the last update from SE for its Satio. Really satisfied with my Satio since I bought 4 months ago because since then it works just perfect.

I have a friend with a cell shop and tried different
phones.. just sharing my experiences with typing
messages in touchscreen that you have to enable
predictive text so as not to repeatedly type a
single key to alternative between successive
letter in manual typing as the lack of tactile
feedback can get one prone to more errors. Wonder
if this is also the experience of those who text
a lot in the satio using manual typing. I've tried
the Samsung Corbia, N97, etc. too and evaluating
the messaging capability of tactile less typing
to get ready for the Ipad which also uses virtual
keyboard.

solidsnake, 10 Mar 2010thanks SE 2010 am a big of SE. what is dis firmware all abo... moreyah its already available in the philippines, my phone is already running with R2AK006 which i have downloaded march 02, 2010. new video resolution in wide format, threaded sms, facebook inegration to UI and a DLNA server configuration. the phone is noticeably faster than R1CA037. i have a hacked phone by HelloOx2 what i did is remove my mem card prior to update. you will be prompted with 2 updating option either just update your phone to the latest firmware or update your phone with a factory reset. i choosed only to update my phone with no factory reset so all my installed applications were still working fine such as quick office premier 6, asphalt 4 HD room patcher, slide lock, fake sms, total recall, handy black list, ebible, skyfire, advance device lock, Mdictionary and more.

For those who want to get the Satio because they
think it can match the canon ixus for example..
it can't. The $199 Powershot SD780 IS or Ixus 100
can shoot in 1280x720 30fps in video, the difference
to a 640x480 VGA is huage. The Ixus can start shoot
in 1 second.. the satio in 2.75 seconds.. the Ixus
has 3X optical zoom, the satio none.. and foremost
the ixus being just 2/3 the size of the satio has
better flash so in shooting inside room indoor,
the mini ixus would be twice brighter. The ixus
also has motion detector so it can shoot only when
you enter the scene in a group picture so so need
to run. So if you primarily shoot pictures, the ixus 100 would still be a better choice and it less than half the price of the Satio and smaller in size.
Also the Satio being resistive screen means you can
never do a finger pinch to zoom like in the iphone
or kinetic scrolling or gestures where you can touch
the surface lightly... in the Satio you need to
put pressure in every touch.
I nearly get the Satio to read pdf file.. but found
out it has difficulty viewing even 3 pages of pdf
and not fullscreen while the iphone or ipod can load
100 pages full color magazine very fast due to the
better interface. The Satio with symbian core is
very slow compared to ipod or iphone.
For searching 1000 songs.. you have to do it manually
in satio one by one while in ipod/iphone.. it comes up less than a sec after you type the text of any names or parts of the songs.
But the Satio is still good for those who own
previous old model handyphone like the nokia 3200
and first time to use a touchscreen etc. The
latest touchscreens would come up in coming
years that would bring up little points above
screen while typing giving tactile feedback
for better messaging as well as gestures that
don't even touch the screen but above it by
motion sensor.
The Satio is just a beginning for a full touchscreen
experience. Know the limit so you won't expect so
much.

It seems touchscreen messaging is only good if you
use QWERTY and pure english. For those who don't like
to use both hands in typing messages and just use
the alphanumeric virtual keypad with no predictive
input especially if you are writing in other languages
like tagalog, pressing a single key like 1 to alternate
between the letter A, B, AND C and repeating it in
other letters would be tedious and takes longer
compared to a normal keypad with tactile feedback. Right folks?

Dude because SE cares about their customers more than any other brand, they usually release updates for their cellphones more than any other company. You can download the updates from SE's website. There is an application that you download for your pc in order for you to get the best out of your phone.
When you download the new update, this will make your phone faster and better, and it will improve the overall performance of your cell phone.
And all this fuss in this fourm, is about the new update that SE released for the satio, this is the second update, and there will be more in the future :)

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2010u sure? satio is just a normal phone? u mean satio's level ... moreThere will be another update for satio soon, so no need to worry about it. And I'm pretty sure that the certain update is just great. So just enjoy it ok :)
The major reason for this update was the WVGA recording, and since it's working well this is the whole point of it. The other things were just extra. And soon there will be another update that will improve the overall performance along with the other small things that satio users demand.
