Background :
First time Sony Ericsson user. Nokia user for 12 years (changing phones every year). Been using my Satio for approximately 6 days now. I also carry an iphone and the new Treo.
Report : SIMPLY WONDERFUL.
It's a joy using the satio. It's very simple to use. Both the hardware and software shortcuts make navigating a breeze. I say this in comparison to the Treo. There are so many additional functionalities that you don't find on a Nokia phone. Especially love the mark all feature, file sorting, highlight, and multiple keyboard options.
In comparison to the iphone, I still choose the satio because of the enhanced features and I prefer the overall format, interface flexibility, camera, built-in speakers, and the overall look.
To get the full experience, you have to calibrate the resistive screen. When calibrating, make sure you don't tap too hard.
The available programs are top notch. Particularly appreciate the media players.
Ocasionally, you may experience a bit of time when switching screens. Take note i say a BIT. It's really, not a deal breaker. One blink and you're okay.
WONDERFUL phone. I'm a convert to SE and I have a feeling I'm never going back.

well, iv had the beauty sony Z5, very simple phone but loved it, still have it but doesnt work anymore its dead, the battery puffed, lol.
the sony and ericsson should divorce if they want to survive as phone makers...

very true, does freeze, lose signal etc. I know I own one. Other then that though awesome handset.

lol its sad but true, this wont kill the iphone, nothing will, its basically coming in and taking over the entire market.

First i used to have C905 for one year never occures an error
now i have the satio for 2 weeks working like charme mostly when using multimedia internet apps and games
it freeses simtimes when mading several calls waiting for the update withing 2 weeks as SE replied to me

Great phone , been using it for few days now. No freezes or anything .Anyway i expect an update soon to make the user experiance even better !

RC turn off your blue tooth ,battery life is extended a bit. Any1 got problems taking pics with the new satio. I can get it to focus on any object further than 2 ft away from me

STOP BLAMING SONYERI, 21 Nov 2009For those of you who havent figured it out yet: Symbian ... morethats not true. symbian is owned by nokia, but SE made a change in the UI of Symbian not Nokia. so the fault is SE in changing the UI. and when you change something, the chances are high that there will be a lot of errors and bugs.SE most release a software update to fix the bugs and errors.

,I have had ericsson fones and never had a problem and around that year 2000 my sister had a sony j6 in blue or j something a bit unsure and loved it and again no probs...I said in an earlier post they should split and would like to see what sony could do on their own ui and with their expertise,,come on, sonys be known since i was a kid as a company that shrank and produced top electronics..this is just turning into a farce and can say the handsets ive had by s/e are terrible..My k770i is not useable now after 7 months ,,xperia was good but heavily slow ,,p990i was a big joke and really wanted to go all the way with others and sue to get our money back,,and so on yet w900i and k750i were some of the best handsets on the planet..It does happen with other company and voda uk have withdrawn the n97 now due to software..I now believe people who say we are guinea pigs are correct and who the hell tests these things??? seriously who is testing these things cause they didnt test the p990i??

nokia cant make a phone with good 8 mp camera
omnia hd innov8 aino all of them can beat n86 8mp
nokia cant make a phone with wvga 30 fps then you say hd video recording from nokia!
the next nokia phone is n920 that have 5 mp camera and wvga 25 fps video recording with 600 mhz cpu and capacitive screen not very special like n900

Hi Guys,
Got my staff upgrade-black satio(i work for voda uk) and so far no problems.I am waiting for upgrade(like i always do no matter what phone i have) and a chance to debrand it asap.Don t like the fact that the tscreen is resistive but noticed that after recalibration works better.Re music volume in headset,changed the headphones but still using the adaptor from the box and the volume and quality is iproved and that is perfect for me.I could return it if i d want to but i am not going to.I like the build quality and i think the hardware has potential and a good sw upgrade will unleash it s full power.My opinion is that the problem lies with the symbian os...let s not forget n97 s and omnia hd bugs.So the choice is yours.

It was not because to reach the best quality that nokia using carl zeiss optics on their cameras, it because they really unable to make it by itself.
Their batteries were outsourced in china. Displays by samsung and toshiba. And I don't understand why people keep thinking nokia has reputation while they didn't make anything on their phones.

Price of SE always too high I don't think they can survive like this, new top of line sets are hopeless than older ones, when made in France or EU. Now Made n China and plasticky Finnish without steel or solid construction has brought them down, nose dive. Satio internal men and unstable firmware has defamed it.
