I am thinking of ordering this phone for a few reasons one being the Cemera and video recorder.
QUESTION FOR ANYONE THAT HAS THE PHONE- How does the video recording quality/Audio compare to my current phone Nokia N95 which is also VGA 30fps and exellent quality.
Only video I could see on youtube was

Quality looks not bad but not as good as Nokia N95 would I be right?
I love Sony Ericsson phones and really want to return as a customer so if someone can please help I would really appreciate.

this is crap.no hd video.no tv out.no dlna.no screen responsive.no audio jack.no capacitive touch.it looks like a empty box. but v expensive. sony people r not thinking about their fans.they always use their own way.dont buy this.buy omnia hd.it is the best phone now.

such a mobile having both symbian and high pixel camera
MUST have at least 8GB internal memory.
No one can use it as smart phone,
useable just as a camera phone..

I'm really sad because from what i'm hearing now it doesn't sound any better than my disappointing W960 - as you say there's lag, like the W960 and the screen is unresponsive so annoying like the W960 - how sad..
so can anyone tell me, is there still hope for me to get this phone if a new software update is released. I don't want another W960 slow piece of rubbish, i want a responsive screen and fast navigation - it seems more and more that the E72 would be my better option..such sad news for me :(

i'll post it on the aino and satio page. I'll probably do it later on in the evening after thesony event im going to, just incase i have any decent 'gossip' regarding sony's new stuff.

very poor, just a more expensive copy of the nokia 5800, basic menu, slow response on all applications, camera very slow and sometimes non responsive. Going to be lots of issues with this one!! dont bother!

This phone is the exception to the rule. it will not work without a sim in it. Atleast the ones i have dont. So before you buy it test it first, different region phones may work differently.

I think the video on that will be very very impressive. Possibly back end of november for a release. Although you wont go wrong with the Omnia HD. It's a beast.

U answered it well... moreGlad i could help. fastport is the connection that pretty much 95% of sony phones have, that funny little double pronged connector. through the port, the phone can be charged, and accesories can be plugged in, like speakers, and headphones.
which is all well and good, however, without a seperate 3.5 jack, you couldnt plug your own headphones in, which means that even if you have a set of really impressive ones, they're no good. It also means that you cant charge the phone whilst its attached to a set of speakers for instance. Also, cant be charged if you have headphones in, which is a pain if you have a long trip on a train.
mainly its just lazy.
as for the x2, im not convinced by it. sure i love my x1, but then ive tried pretty much every homebrew i could find for it, 6.5, HTC touch, so its always been 'fresh'. The x2 has pretty identical stats power wise. The camera will be nice, but the screen size limits it somewhat, and as ive said i dont really take too many shots.
i also dont like the new construction of it, and believe the heavy use of plastic now makes a high end phone look cheap.
mainly, i just dont think sony have tried hard enough to progress the phone. im a big fan of windows mobile, but there's nothing exciting about it anymore. the panel feature is interesting, but largely unsupported. its like an x1.5.
im not nokias bigggest fan by a mile, but i look at the n900 and it shows they're willing to push the boat out and try something different (mainly the OS). im much more excited by that really.
Still, should know tomorrow if the Aino is worth my upgrade

I'll be happy to put up a similiar review on the aino as of tomorrow, we get it into stock then. Im pretty excited to see it.
Also going to a sony launch night, at which i'll hopefully be given some info about the x2, x3, and possible updates for the satio's software
