This phone will use Symbian Foundation's new OS, namely S60v5 Feature Pack 1, right?
Will it be backwards compatible with 5800, N97 and Omnia HD, since they all are based on the S60v5 OS???

Spiff, 27 May 20093.5mm audio jacks are becoming the standard in modern devic... moreI am getting sick of this 3.5mm jack rantings...Not everyone needs it, only people who are too lazy or ign*rant to understand some basic facts about the supplied earphones by SE keep talking crap about this issue.
And what about that "degrade" sound thingy???Where did you get the idea that SE adapters degrade sound??Thats a really baseless and false statement. SE sets produce sound wayyyyy better than those so-called music oriented phones with 3.5mm jacks.
And believe me music is my life, I am sooo much into music that you can only think..but still I NEVER needed a 3.5mm jack..so please stop this bullsh*t..its getting sooo much pathet*c.

I am looking forward to this phone !! Unfortunately I am still a bit skeptical about reliability as SE has been having some serious quality control problems lately, especially in their high-end phones. My K850i AND C905i are both down and awaiting new keypads due to failures of these parts. SE finally admitted to QC problems, and I sure hope they get them resolved or change suppliers by the time the IDOU is released ! The only improvements I could see in specs would be Fill-flash ability, mini stereo jack, and USB charging since SE has signed on to this standard.

As for todays technology its current prototype specifications are already superior to a normal user , and hence we shouldnt expect miracles in few hours , we just have to be resonable and down to earth in our comments

3.5mm audio jacks are becoming the standard in modern devices that claim to be multimedia workhorses. The Idou has the CPU and the rest but yet, they failed to include such a basic feature.
I for once do not like to carry around adapters that are bulky and degrade sound. Heck, even tiny devices like the Nokia E52 now have the jack.
Other than that I like the specs.

i hope it is only "concept"
i think it will have same problem as k800i in terms of camera slider.
slide open in your pocket and goes snap crazy :P
looks like a beauty though
i assume it will be a hit phone if it doesn't have the same problems as X1

Its very nice phone, but for me its interesting why it has SIMBIAN and Micro SD not memory stick and windows mobile? I think its not real sony ericsson but made together with some ather compony

most of the w series have headphones that the cable have 3,5mm jack , so stop complaining about small things

it does not matter if idou will be outdated at the time of its release , since it still will be a good phone to be purchased ,
in my case the most important is the camera, and i hope that the picture quality is maintained to the level that we shouldnt change it for better at least for 2 or 3 years
on the other hand new technologies are on the way and 2010 to 2014 would have many surprises in all directions , , such as processors , transmission technologies , camera sensors , , the question is , how much more we need and expect for a normal user ???

I beleive that we are all waiting for the news in few hours , hence many are in silence waiting for the happy news,,, se feels like a suspence company or let say thriller , ,
on the other hand , still 2 goog phones have been released w995 and c901 and c903 will flollow
good work by se and i am always with you till the end .

oh i got burgled last night btw! ha. they took a sony ericsson w302 and my mum's motorola v3x.
fortunately, i had my trusty innov8 by my side
