it's stupid that sony ericsson produce these cybershot phones which are all centred around the camera, yet are the worst in their class.
it's a joke.
and im sorry, the k850's camera is worse than the n82's, and the n95's!

This is what exactly SE was looking for. They want people to talk to discuss about idou..That way they can gain peoples confidence...their share holders are not happy with its future. They announced it in 10-12 months in advance. What we are still calling a "Prototype" was never even close to a prototype. It could be called nothing more than a show-off dummy. A prototype does pretty much same thing that the final product would do..there is always some minor changes to the final product..websites including GSMarena do review with prototypes. Now can you review idou? You cant. Coz it's not even close to a prototype. Now lets have a look. Mostly when a manufacturer develops something they do more R&D and fine tune it. SE came up with just one 8mp the C905. Have you seen them working on that anymore? They didn't. Samsung, Lg came with 8mp too but they worked hard and now they have more than 2 8mp models in their portfolio. Why SE didn't perfect 8mp and wants to jump into 12mp? Why announcing a phone in 10-12 months advance and let everyone in dark? It's simply not worth talking about. Not at all. Let them announce something first. A 12mp cam with HD recording must have enough internal memory and battery backup. I wonder why they never put it that way for the sake of it...at least we people could have believed. they could change it latter on. It's SE who has to blame. They are playing tricks and letting everyone fight. An the way I see it, they are quite successful in that. I wont waste a single word on idou from now on until I hear from SE.

SE in 3rd? Yeah in q3 2008,but in q4 2008 LG + moto overtook se again...and q1 2009 result is se bleeding again and in 4th place below lg (moto at 5th)

SE always announce 8mp - 12mp earlier than other vendor but according to 8mp history,sammy innov8 is the winner,every profesional review site like gsmarena,mobile-review,smape.com,mobilearsenal.com do the test between innov8 vs c905,all of them said that innov8 is the winner..hope se payback at 12mp to fight with lg

Just a general comment:
Yes, the model is not released yet.
Like many other models.
Yes comparison is not practical totally.
But, we can still talk about the facts already released:
- some features
- some specs (size, battery, internal memory, resolution etc.)
Obviously, reliability and performance are remained to be seen.
And if anybody see an outdated specs or features is is totally reasonable to voice an opinion even though the model is not released yet.
1000 mAh battery is a bad joke!
It is published all over the net for long time now. There are SE reps here and no official deny yet - I wonder why?
(because the initial publication was correct - it was not a mistake - SE announced the Idou with a 1000mAh battery)
and they still quite about it (for weeks!!!!)! The planning and reaction are totally incompetent.

They made the same promises with X1, C902, W890 etc.
What I want to hear - By who and where this model will be manufactured????
It seems nobody can tell these. 5 months !!!! before release there is no clue about the manufacture site????? Come on!
I hope it is clear to everyone SE is unable to make this model by itself.

PR garbage.
Unlimited?
No DVB-H TV broadcast receiver - that is already one limit. (existing feature)
No projector (we want unlimited entertainment, also already developed)
Limited internal memory
Limited battery
These are all limiting factors - producing limited entertainment
“Unlimited entertainment” is just so stu..id that I can not understand how reps can repeated over and over again.

Sony Ericsson in Germany has now informed that the sales of Sony Ericsson’s 12 MP mobile Idou will start in October or November. Sony Ericsson’s german product manager also says that Idou is just the first model in a series of entertainment phones from Sony Ericsson.
It is to the german WEB site Teltarif Sony Ericsson’s german product and pr manager now has given more details about the rumoured super mobile from Sony Ericsson.
- Idou is the project name for the first phone model. The focus for this project and the promis behind it is “Unlimited entertainment”. It is much more than just picture and music functions, for instance games, social networks or complete video services says Sony Ericsson’s german product manager Steffen Grosch.
More models in the series with focus on “unlimited entertainment” as in Idou are also on the way, according to Sony Ericsson’s german product manager.
Sony Ericsson Idou will have Symbian’s new operating system, which among other things is based on Nokia’s Series 60 and Sony Ericsson’s UIQ. The system will according to Symbian be complete around the summer.
Idou will also have a 12 MP camera, built-in GPS and a large 3.5″ touch screen.
According to german Sony Ericsson Idou will be available in October, but not later than November.
