My parents just bought this phone for me in Hong Kong, and I was wondering... does it have some kind of a solar power thing? My screen tends to be darker when i cover that little circle (on the top right of the phone b/s the speakers) and once i remove my finger from the circle, my screen becomes brighter again. And another question, if it really is some kind of a solar power thing, is there any way to disable it?

I will recommend t700 to many people for several reason. No. 1 its a T model and the emphasis is on design and not camera. I think its slim, sleek and sexy. No. 2 3G is not necessarily for video conferencing. Its a term for upload and download capabilities. Have u tried accessing the net via T700 using 3G. Its very fast, for a standard mobile it offers very fast internet. Even its camera though not a cybershot the clarity is better than many other 3.15 MP camera's out there. Its one of the best. And the pricing is low... So if you want to have it all I am sure they have other models at much higher price.

The most LAME SE phone I ever use. The 3G function is lame! They dont have a camera on the front screen, so whats the purpose to use 3G if we cant see the other party just becos the camera for 3G in on the back of the phone!

I'm from the philippines and I must say that the phone is very slim and thin and very modern for its design. just got the phone yesterday for only 10,580 and I very pleased with its apperance and performance, the camera is ok and the sound is a bit low but its fine. Battery life is good so far just have to monitor it in a few days but so far so good. well I like the t700 a lot.

After using it for few days i can say that the battery life is decent. I dont like how it does not insert (-) when entering phone numbers i also wish that the t9 would automatically add words to your dictionary instead of going to a separate menu and spelling it out.

Think I'll just stick with the black on silver as I want to get this by Christmas. Pity shining black isn't available yet :( ...

personally i think the red is a really good choice...kind of uni-sex i think...but if you are more the conservative type, perhaps the wait for the shiny black will be worth it... do let me know what your final decision is...

The black on silver is just so-so, quite plain. So I need an opinion. Is the red version too "red" for a male? Would any of you guys go red?
Or should I wait for shining black with that slick look?( http://semcblog.com/2008/11/19/t700-in-shining-black/ ) Or maybe even shining gold? ( http://semcblog.com/2008/11/24/new-colours-for-t700/ )

T700 User, which provider are you using? If it is t-mobile go to their page and you will find it here:

In the middle of the page there is a link that says
'Begin using the T-Mobile Wireless Configurator'
If it is any other provider try typing it in google
'vodafone mms settings' so on...

SE has a page on their site where they will message you a config setting for your phone. I did it awhile back, put in AT&T as my carrier (they'll have a list of carriers worldwide), put my number in and wait a few min until I received a few message saying that they will configure the phone automatically.

The phone is awesome, I got mine a couple days ago but I don't know how to get Picture or Voice Messages to activate and I can't even access the internet, would you know by any chance how to get that running?

yea the sudden vibration on the phone was foul, but u can definitely turn it off, other than that, its an awesome phone so far! I'm lovin it :)
