I am too thinking of getting one, but there is a huge problem. In some reviews, and many user opinions (not in GSM arena) report of bad reception, poor voice quality in areas with bad reception, and even call dropping. This is a big let down....
Please share your experience, and if possible to test it.

Finally I got this phone even though all these opionions and people saying its rubbish even not even having owned one. I have a two week period to return it and after 1 day I know this is a keeper for me.
Some of the peoples questions about touchscreen, camera, loudspeaker ect.These are my following replies.
Touchscreen is fine, its not like the iphone cause it is not the iphone(duh). The lag you see in the videos on youttube ect is due to the fool not pressing in the correct area and not calibrating the phone before using it. I did calibrate and it works near perfectly, I just have to learn to type properly with my fingers. The stylus is really not needed at all. even the mini querty keyboard option works fine.
Loudspeaker. I havent tested it cause i dont play music loudly in public like antisocial idiots. Please buy yourself a set of nice headphones and listen to your music on your own and dont subject other people to it. The music with earphones is excellent as usual by the way.
Camera: I havent had a good chance at all conditions but so far the still camera takes brilliant pics during the day indoors and satisfactory ones at night indoors with the light. Having no xenon flash is a bummer i will admit but nearly all of the phones have this light rather than xenon flash lately except for a few like the satio, but its the size of a house compared to this. This phone is really compact and light but still feels solid. Some people moaning that it feels plastic ect which is odd, cause it IS made of plastic(duh). If you want a phone that feels like a rock then buy a nokia from 15 years ago then.
Video camera is excellent, its amazing how good these have become in mobile phones.
Web browsing is easy, ths is the 1st touchscreen phone I have owned and its super easy to use. The Kinetic scrolling is slightly off balance i would say , but i will get used to that.
If anyone has further questions, please ask. So far I love this phone. Im just looking to buy a cover to protect the lens and front screen.
My previous phone was a K850i for the record.

I finally found a u5a version of this phone on ebay for an arm and a penny. That's the north american version that is capable of 3g. I'll post back once I get it. I'm stoked about the 720p video and 8mp camera. I'm hoping this will be good enough to replace my point and shoot camera.

some tec blogs has mentioned vivaz is buggy but i can see any serious complains here!!!

does anyone have a problem with opera...quite often if you turn the phone for landscape view when using opera,,it crashes and goes back to home screen,,,very frustrating,,,also,,does anyone else have a loose back cover,,mine is quite bad from side to side,,,,,,,,TO SONY ERICSSON,,,,,,,you need to get off your corprate rear end and make available a major firmware update for the vivaz,,,a beautiful looking phone let down completely ..i like this fone ,but its starting to test my nerves..

i agree,sound of talk and music is below any standard,i feel cheated and robbed,wanted to give this c phone , back next day but no they show the contract.well at least good that for the call u dont need to connect cable,becouse now im gona expect even this from se.

(+) Great video camera, responsive phone, fast processor, good battery life, love it, adore it, recommend it.
(-) Poor quality speaker, and why the hell they put the camera lens right on the middle of the body?! It makes quiet difficult to take a vertical picture with one hand because your finger keeps covering the lens... pliss dehh!

Is Sony Ericsson Vivaz better than LG BL40? Or is it the other the way around? Pls guys, I do really need your honest opinion about this since I'm planning to buy a new phone as an upgrade. Also, which is more practical to buy when it comes to price, durability, quality, style and features, and support for downloads/softwares/applications to be installed on the phone?
